Event Update For 2013-07-03

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2013-07-03 - Freak hailstorm dumps as much as 2 feet of hail in Santa Rosa (New Mexico):
Quote: "I have lived here all my life, and I have never seen this..."
Quote: "The storm began around 6 p.m., dropping paintball-sized hail for 20 minutes, according to the newspaper. One National Weather Service local storm report said nickel to golf-ball-sized hail fell. The town was then left covered in ice, stranding motorists on two Route 66 bridges. The newspaper also reported damage to car ports, neon Route 66 signs and a Family Dollar store, in addition to flooding after the hail melted."
Note: A proposed explanation for these freak hailstorms that have been ravaging areas around the world in the last couple of years is in the full hypothesis, near the bottom...

2013-07-03 - Explosion and fire damage Lake Breeze Motel Resort on the North Shore in Duluth (Minnesota), 2 injured:

Quote: "Several people reported hearing an explosion before the fire. Andrew Rice of Champlin, Minn., was in a nearby cabin when he 'heard a loud explosion and shattering glass.' The 24-year-old ran toward the sound of the explosion and found 'some glass, Sheetrock and a window blown out' of the building."

Note: Because this is was a residence of a sort, I am counting this in the HXXX (home explosions) stats on the daily graphic. If people live in it and it explodes, I'll count it. That includes RVs that explode (not merely burn). So, just to be clear, the HXXX number (like H:005 or whatever) will reflect the number of residences of any sort that exploded that day, that I was able to find any news about: apartments, homes, RVs, campers, hotels...

2013-07-03 - Buddy Ebsen's house hit by explosion and basement fire on Balboa Island in coastal Newport Beach (California):

Note: They're blaming gas vapors meeting pilot light, and they point out that gas vapors are heavier than air. That could be the case, although this hadn't happened in the previous 10 years. Did they check for hydrogen sulfide? No. So they can't rule it out. And the two things are not mutually exclusive. Gas vapors can indeed spontaneously ignite, or ignite via water heater pilot light. But add some hydrogen sulfide to the air mix, which is also heavier-than-air, and what might NOT have caused an explosion if it were ONLY gas vapors might then cause an explosion, since hydrogen sulfide is much more volatile than gasoline. In any case, just noting yet another home exploding, and obviously you don't get much more coastal than a little island...

2013-07-03 - Huge blaze breaks out at 5 AM, 2 homes destroyed, 6 damaged, car destroyed, 4 damaged, in Springfield (Massachusetts):

2013-07-03 - Two cars burst into flame at 2 AM, 4 houses apart, while parked on street in Tacoma (Washington):
