Note: It looks very much like hydrogen sulfide is contaminating water here and there and when you jump into a little blob of contaminated water, you lose consciousness almost instantly. Then once unconscious, you exhale your air then inhale water (since breathing is an involuntary reflex), which reduces buoyancy and you never resurface and are found dead later. This same scenario is playing out over and over now. It wasn't that bad last year, but then the oceans and seas have now had another year to gush hydrogen sulfide into our atmosphere. It'll be worse next year, and worse yet each following year, until we've retreated from the surface of the Earth, whether that's done voluntarily by moving into habitats protected from the atmosphere or involuntarily by dying...

The autopsy won't find anything unless they do it within 6-8 hours of exposure, and that happens only slightly more often than Hell freezing over...

Note: I mentioned that incident in the 2013-06-19 update. So his car just exploded and burned spontaneously and burned him so bad they had to use dental records to identify him. Note: Hydrogen sulfide can cause near-instant death or unconsciousness. The boy was probably smaller than his mother, so he just dropped dead. The mother may have fallen unconscious and hit her head on something as she collapsed. Hydrogen sulfide poisoning can also cause skin tears that look like stab wounds, as well as bruising from burst blood vessels which can look like a beating, e.g. 'blunt force trauma'. This particular hotel/room combo may be vulnerable to infiltration by hydrogen sulfide. The hotel may be in a valley, or downwind of a body of water, something like that. The air circulation system for this hotel may also make this particular room more vulnerable than others due to vagaries in ducting, placement of windows, the side of the building the room is on, etc. All homes and all rooms within each home will have their own particular characteristics when it comes to an atmospheric problem like this, some more vulnerable than others and some less so. Doesn't sound like you'd wanna be staying in this particular room...

Note: He drifted slowly off the road, but was found dead, thus the mystery. Sounds like he got a whiff of hydrogen sulfide and it killed him while driving, or he got enough of a whiff to knock him unconscious and then he drifted off the road and kept breathing hydrogen sulfide until he died. This is the reason why I mentioned people will be found dead in submerged vehicles: hydrogen sulfide is a heavier-than-air gas which will accumulate in low-lying areas, like water does, and as people are knocked dead or unconscious, they will sometimes veer off the road into a nearby body of water and be found dead later...
