Event Update For 2013-05-13

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Category: Fires And Explosions

2013-05-13 - Underground explosions and fire ignite cars, cut power, in coastal Brooklyn (New York):
http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2013/05/13/exploding-manholes-set-cars-on-fire-cut-power-in-brooklyn/

Quote: "Several manholes exploded in Brooklyn on Monday, setting cars on fire and sending people running for their safety."

Quote: "And when the manholes did blow, at least two had cars sitting on top of them. Hernan Gonzalez came home to find his car burned to a crisp on the bottom with the bumper off, with the manhole still smoking underneath."

Note: Hydrogen sulfide is a heavier-than-air gas and will seek out low-lying areas like underground electrical facilities, sewers, basements, underground parking garages, etc. It's also highly flammable and reactive with copper, especially electrified copper, like that found in underground electrical facilities. If you have a vehicle, you might not want to park right on top of - or even near - any manholes. Might wanna be cautious about WALKING over them too, for that matter...

http://www.fox16.com/news/local/story/Man-Injured-In-Enclosed-Well-Explosion/-uVZRV25IEmmtS8W9VA6Nw.cspx

Quote: "...residents are concerned this could happen to them because some city officials believe natural gas caused the explosion."

Note: Methane coming from underground contaminating water, then evaporating out? And this was an enclosed well, so the gas would be stuck inside, building up, until eventually a spark from static electricity or something occurs and...boom!

2013-05-13 - Power poles burst into flame all across Spokane (Washington) after rainstorm:
http://www.khq.com/story/22241390/multiple-power-poles-across-the-city-catch-fire-after-rainstorm

Note: Storm may have brought in some hydrogen sulfide and/or methane from the coast. They're blaming a rainstorm after a dry spell. That's what they said when power poles burst into flame in Texas too not long ago. And yet I don't ever recall hearing about large numbers of power poles bursting into flame like this in previous years, and it's not like this year is the first year we've had a dry spell in Texas or Washington, so that story is obviously just something made up to placate people and keep them from understanding what's actually going on...

http://www.abc6.com/story/22232677/providence-firefighters-knock-down-fire-in-double-decker

Quote: "Fire officials are still investigating and have not given a cause of the fire, although it's believed to have started on an outside deck."

Note: Wood decks have the same vulnerabilities as pallets. They're wood and all absorbent flammable materials are absorbing hydrogen sulfide and/or methane and spontaneously combusting. They're also frequently held together with steel nails and screws, which rust, and hydrogen sulfide is reactive with rusty iron/steel. So the wood of a deck or porch absorbs some flammable hydrogen sulfide or methane over time. Eventually it either spontaneously combusts or some hydrogen sulfide finds a bit of rusty iron/steel and a spark is generated, which hits the wood, and whoosh, fire erupts...

Note: These were not adjacent structures, with the fire spreading from one to the other. These were separate events, though near each other. That's a sign of a flammable gas plume blowing through an area and igniting stuff here and there as it goes. I bet if they could look up where the wind was blowing during that time in that area, they'd find the second fire occurred downwind of the first fire...

  1. It's getting more severe so this will probably be the year when something so big happens that the govt. will be forced to 'spill the beans' or maybe they'll have 'left town' by then leaving us to fend for ourselves with some cannibalizing people like they did in 'The Road'. That 'Zombie spotting' or 'I see dead people' plane monitoring Quincy is very telling.

    1. Thanks! Another fire started by a pallet, I see. More and more, pallets are looking like they've become a kind of wood-based delayed-reaction randomly-igniting 'Molotov cocktail'.

    2. Home repair business like Lowes or Home Depot stack their (for sale) single fence panels on top of each other (like they do with many of their wood products) which is very similar to the way that pallets are stacked so it is probably just a matter of time before they ignite. I don't remember seeing any of these types of DIY stores having fires yet but I have not thoroughly back checked the JJFH reports. Plenty of wood related businesses have caught fire though.

    3. There have been some DIY store fires. Not as many as pallet company fires though. That may be because the wood is kept separate from the nails at the DIY stores, and the nails are probably rusting and generating the spark that ignites the wood, which is probably contaminated with flammable hydrogen sulfide and/or methane.

Heh, running late on the 2013-05-14 update (but almost done now). They're getting bigger, more events, but also, I took some time today to pressure-wash my fence and small wooden back porch, in preparation for applying a fresh thick layer of sealant tomorrow. I was gettin' paranoid about that; it'd been about 2-3 years since I'd applied sealant to that wood, so I figured, better safe than sorry, time to get 'er done!

    4. The fence panels & some other products are pre-made with nails or staples but because they are new they have little or no rust. Also, much of the wood is wet from being chemically treated or it is green lumber and these are less likely to absorb any gases but the products like the fences have air gaps like pallets which could trap gases. Places like Lowes & Home Depot have such a quick turn-around that the stock stays pretty much fresh & less prone to gas absorption but the small time outfits with low volume will be more prone to disaster from the gases. Their lumber will be more dried out & the nails/staples on their fence panels will be more rusty. I would think that if the DIYe'rs like Home Depot do start to ignite then it would probably be in the more drier states first where the wood will dry out quicker. Even if their wood doesn't ignite their vehicles could & then start a chain reaction like you have reported on so many times.

    5. Because pallets are commonly used by so many businesses there are a lot of disasters waiting to happen out there because when a business is done using the pallet they'll usually just stack them behind their building until there is a big enough pile for someone to haul away.

  3. I just remembered the obvious. There are plenty of pallets at the big box DIY stores & in the yard they usually stack the used-up ones just like the pallet producers do but not in such huge stacks or ground coverage. So that in itself could end up doing them in. Talk about living in the middle of a real life Stephen King novel!

    1. I recall one HUGE DIY store fire, but I can't tell you which update it was in, because it was in Britain and they have some other name, not Lowe's or Home Depot, but I don't remember the name. It was one of their big-name DIY stores though, and it was located along a canal, to bring in lumber easily, and that's what burned - lumber, lots of it.

And I have now realized one of the unsung perks of Stephen King horror novels - you can put them down and all the scary goes away. That isn't true here - there's nothing to put down!

    2. Britain like India is getting hit hard. I keep seeing Fond du Lac, WI show up also. I searched JJFH & got 24 hits for it. Maybe it is in a low lying area because I'm only a half-hour north of them in Oshkosh & not too much is happening here & I hope it stays that way!

  4. I see why Fond du Lac is getting more action. It is located on a very narrow bay at the bottom of Lake Winnebago & the elevation is 30' lower than Oshkosh & 224' lower that Brothertown on the opposite side of Lake Winnebago which is almost the same longitude as Oshkosh. So it looks like Fond du Lac might be the canary in the coal-mine for the other cities on this lake.
