Event Update For 2021-01-12

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2021-01-12 - Water suddenly turns pink, smells foul, fish die, in coastal Sentosa South Cove (Singapore):

http://www.malaymail.com/news/singapore/2021/01/14/singapores-sentosa-cove-waters-turn-pink-smell-rotten-one-resident-calls-it/1940256

Quote: "Sentosa South Cove residents were greeted by strange-smelling waters in the the canal that had turned pink on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 12, 2021. Photos of the unusual coloured waters and dead fish floating on the surface were shared on Facebook. Residents allegedly also smelled a foul rotting scent."

Quote: "A new development however, appears to be the presence of a purple scum floating on the surface of waters. A rather prominent patch was seen below a bridge at one end of the long waterway."

Note: That was the chemocline rising abruptly to the surface, releasing accumulated hydrogen sulfide (the foul smell) and CO2 from the bottom, and suffocating or poisoning the fish to death. As the oceans continue warming, this will happen with increasing frequency until eventually the oceans belch up enough hydrogen sulfide to kill off most land-based life in addition to the vast majority of life in the oceans. The oceans turning into poison factories that wipe out the human race (and most other oxygen-using life on the planet) is the real danger of global warming, not rising seas levels or heat waves or wildfires. Chemical markers for hydrogen sulfide have been found at every single extinction event in the planet's history. The pinkish purple color is purple sulfur bacteria which feed on hydrogen sulfide and which only exist in water where hydrogen sulfide is present...

  1. Sorry about being late - something went awry. I had clicked publish but it hadn't, and I didn't notice, because that had never happened before. The post was still there and it showed up normally once I re-clicked publish. Might still be some bugs in this new Blogger interface that Google foisted on me a couple of months ago!

  2. No problem being late, Jonny. If you're gonna die overnight - let us know though, mmmkoi?

It looks like our species is going to be extinguished by multiple overlapping dilemmas - H2S, HEAT, radiation and other pollution, widespread crop failure, lack of water, FIRE, megastorms and disease (to name a few - there's also WAR).

It is much worse than they are telling us: Up to 1 million: species threatened with extinction: Tens to hundreds of times: the extent to which the current rate of global species extinction is higher compared to average over the last 10 million years, and the rate is accelerating

Everything We Know About The Mysterious Dark Helicopters That Have Been Circling Los Angeles
    https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/38686/everything-we-know-about-the-mysterious-dark-helicopters-that-have-been-circling-los-angeles

The dark gray helicopters with no readily identifiable markings and unusual antennas have caught people's attention as they zip around Los Angeles.

Yesterday, plane spotters in the greater Los Angeles area caught glimpses of three mysterious Bell 407 helicopters painted overall in what looks to be a dark gray color, but with no easily identifiable markings. Covered in antennas that one might expect to see on examples in use by military or law enforcement units, but unlike any we at The War Zone are familiar with, the sightings immediately caught our attention. While we don't know for sure who is operating them or for what purpose, these helicopters appear to have a very unusual history and there are solid indications that they could be associated with a very secretive U.S. military aviation unit. Threat of shortages on fruit and veg markets due to the intense cold in Spain
    https://www.sott.net/article/447211-Threat-of-shortages-on-fruit-and-veg-markets-due-to-the-intense-cold-in-Spain

Agricultural producers and companies in the fruit and vegetable sector in the Spanish provinces of Almería and Granada are not having a moment of truce. Due to storm Filomena, record minimum temperatures are being recorded across Spain; also in the south. Rain and snow have been falling incessantly throughout the week and in these conditions, the crops won't reach the expected yields.

Production has dropped considerably and is taking a toll on many crops, including tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, eggplant and peppers. Prices are high due to the acute product shortage. In the current situation, there is no capacity to meet all the demand, not even that from contracts previously signed by the marketing companies. [more; 2 videos]

Yellow mealworm 'safe' for humans to eat, says EU food safety agency
    https://www.sott.net/article/447205-Yellow-mealworm-safe-for-humans-to-eat-says-EU-food-safety-agency

Yellow mealworm finger foods, smoothies, biscuits, pasta and burgers could soon be mass produced across Europe after the insect became the first to be found safe for human consumption by the EU food safety agency.

The delicacies may not be advisable for everyone, however. Those with prawn and dustmite allergies are likely to suffer a reaction to the Tenebrio molitor larvae, whether eaten in powder form as part of a recipe or as a crunchy snack, perhaps dipped in chocolate.

The conclusion of scientists at the EU food safety agency, following an application by the French insect-for-food production company, Agronutris, is expected to lead to EU-wide approval within months of yellow mealworm as a product fit for supermarket shelves and kitchen pantries across the continent.

The insect's main components are protein, fat and fibre, offering a potentially sustainable and low carbon-emission source of food for the future. When dried, the maggot-like insect is said to taste a lot like peanuts. [more; oh, so NOT like chicken . ..]

Astronauts one day may need to dig into Mars, according to NASA, in search of frozen water for drinking or making fuel, or signs of past microscopic life.
