Event Update For 2016-05-21

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2106-05-21 - Deepwater oarfish washes up dead on beach near Kaikoura (New Zealand):

Note: A huge underwater methane clathrate field started spewing methane off the coast of New Zealand near Gisborne in 2014, mentioned in the 2014-05-13 update. As that methane belches into the ocean, it'll suffocate fish and other deepwater life. At the same time, the ancient anaerobic bacteria and archaea that eat methane and biomatter will start eating that methane and producing hydrogen sulfide, which will poison fish, starting with the deepwater species. Mostly they'll just die and float to the bottom, never seen by human beings, but sometimes they're gonna flee the death rising from the depths and wash up dead nearby...

2016-05-21 - Three dogs killed and eight critically ill after drinking from lake in Dartford (Britain), blamed on blue-green algae:

Quote: "A spokesman for the Environment Agency said: 'Until we've analysed the necessary samples, we won't know what has caused these deaths.'"

Note: There may be blue-green algae there, and that can kill dogs or people who drink the water, but maybe that's not what killed them. They won't find any hydrogen sulfide in the dogs even if that's what killed them, since it breaks down so fast in the body, and they didn't do the autopsies fast enough. So, as usual, we'll never know for sure what killed these dogs. Regardless, I certainly wouldn't be spending much time near that lake, that's for sure...

Blu-Tack used to clean up nuclear waste during power plant decommissioning

Blu-Tack, can openers and other household items have been used by thrifty scientists in the decommissioning of a nuclear power station.

And this is just the beginning of the frugality, as brutal austerity drives people to do the unthinkable. As I've repeatedly predicted, most nuclear power plants won't be decommissioned at all, other than locking the doors. -- RF

May 2016: Will Deutsche Bank Survive This Wave Of Trouble Or Will It Be The Next Lehman Brothers?

If you have been waiting for “the next Lehman Brothers moment” which will cause the global financial system to descend into a state of mass panic, you might want to keep a close eye on German banking giant Deutsche Bank. It is approximately three times larger than Lehman Brothers was, and if the most important bank in the strongest economy in Europe were to implode, it would instantly send shockwaves rippling across the entire planet. Those that follow my work regularly know that I started sounding the alarm about Deutsche Bank beginning last September. Since that time, the bad news from Deutsche Bank has not stopped pouring in. They announced a loss of 6.8 billion euros for 2015, and they have been plagued by scandal after scandal. In recent months they have gotten into trouble for trying to rig precious metal prices, for committing “equity trading fraud” and for their dealings in mortgage-backed securities.
