Event Update For 2013-08-20

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Category: Fires And Explosions
2013-08-20 - Huge inferno engulfs giant pile of scrap metal at metal recycling center in coastal New Jersey:
2013-08-20 - Blaze engulfs at least 20 vehicles at metal scrap yard in West Paris (Maine):
Quote: "Crews spent nearly five hours Monday battling a fire that torched at least 20 vehicles stacked in a scrap metal yard on Maple Street."
Note: From the full hypothesis: "Metal-related businesses will be hit hard, including salvage yards and metal recycling centers."

2013-08-20 - Mysterious explosion sounds rattling residents of Carytown (Virginia), near the coast:

Quote: "The front right window shook, which made me realize it’s more than just a backfire from a truck on a highway..."

Note: These mysterious 'boom sounds' being heard and felt around the world - sometimes accompanied by a 'flash of light' - are very likely gas plumes (hydrogen sulfide or methane or both) finding an ignition source and detonating. Eventually these explosions may rival those caused by small thermonuclear weapons like the one that destroyed Hiroshima, but minus any radiation (unless an explosion takes out a nuclear plant, many of which are coastal, and then you'd have radiation too). This town is very close to where the James River comes in from the ocean. On the plus side, we've managed not to have any towns or cities totally obliterated by these far.

2013-08-20 - Explosion rocks boathouse at Weapons Station Earle at Sandy Hook Bay (New Jersey), 8 injured:

2013-08-20 - Recycling plant erupts in huge fire in Stockport (Britain):

Quote: ""It built up very quickly, and pretty much involved the whole site. Stacks of recycled waste about 5m high are involved in the fire."

Note: Also note the man found burned to death in a burning car in Stockport on this same day, in the corpses section...

2013-08-20 - Massive blaze engulfs pallet yard in Detroit (Michigan), half the city's firefighters respond:

Quote: "The yard was full of pallets that made the fire hard to control."

Quote: "Craig Dougherty, chief of fire operations, couldn't remember the last fire he handled that required as much manpower, but said 'it's been a long time.' Plumes of black smoke rose over a large metal fence surrounding the yard. The flames incinerated stacks of wooden pallets, rubbish piles and melted a nearby semi-trailer with cargo inside."

2013-08-20 - Explosion and fire hits wood pellet company in coastal East Providence (Rhode Island), 1 injured:

2013-08-20 - Two tanker trucks ignite and explode at chemical plant on the Mississippi River in coastal Harvey (Louisiana), 1 injured:

Quote: "One man was injured in an explosion on the West Bank at a dock along the Mississippi River."

Quote: "Col. John Fortunato with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said two trucks unloading chemicals caught fire and exploded at the facility."

2013-08-20 - Rail car bursts into flame at rail yard in Louisville (Kentucky):

Quote: "The car normally carries coiled steel, but the car was empty when the fire started and it was the insulation that was burning."

Note: Maybe some rust fell off the steel and got onto the insulation. Then some hydrogen sulfide blows in, finds some rust, some sparking and sizzling occurs, and the insulation starts burning...

2013-08-20 - Car-hauler truck bursts into flame on I-20 near Van (Texas):

Quote: "The Van Zandt County Fire Marshal's Office said that around 7:30 Tuesday night, an 18-wheeler hauling new cars caught fire on the interstate."

2013-08-20 - Tanker truck bursts into flame on Oklahoma 11 near Pond Creek (Oklahoma):

Note: Brakes started this fire. From the full hypothesis: "Massive vehicles such as big RVs, buses, tanker trucks, tractor trailers, dump trucks, and car-haulers will be destroyed by fire in escalating numbers after tires or brakes ignite."

2013-08-20 - Tractor trailer bursts into flame on I-40 near Kingman (Arizona):

Quote: "...neighbors reported hearing a loud pop shortly before the building was engulfed in flames."

Note: There's that popping sound again, heard before many fires this past year or so. That sound is likely a gas plume finding an ignition source and detonating, a small explosion. People will sometimes mistake the small explosions for fireworks or gunfire. When the plumes are larger and more concentrated then you get homes or vehicles or businesses exploding, or you get those mysterious neighborhood-shaking 'mystery booms' that have been reported all over the world the last couple of years...
