Event Update For 2013-08-06

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Category: Fires And Explosions
2013-08-06 - Massive inferno devastates Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 5 AM in Nairobi (Kenya):
Quote: "The Associated Press reporters at the scene said the blaze is massive, noting that the fire looks to have gutted the international arrivals area. Flights into the airport were redirected to other Kenyan airports."
Quote: "Michael Kamau, the cabinet secretary for transport and infrastructure, said the fire began at 5 a.m. in the immigration section of the arrivals hall."
Note: This airport is one of the biggest in Eastern Africa, so the devastation of the international terminal here is significant. That was one HUGE fire too...

2013-08-06 - Man found on fire in lot in Memphis (Tennessee):

Quote: "Ellis Dewald says he came across the victim and called police. He says the man was burned from the waist down."

Note: Hydrogen sulfide is a heavier-than-air gas, so if you enter a depression, your pants and shoes might absorb some, but not your shirt, for example. Then some static electricity or lighting a cigarette or using an electronic device (electrified copper) provides an ignition source, and whoosh, you might just go up in flames. Didn't see any mention of anyone seeing another person here, just this burned man, and he is by no means the first person to mysteriously go up in flames either...

2013-08-06 - Massive explosion devastates apartment block in Rosario (Argentina), at least 8 killed and 60 injured:

2013-08-06 - Underground electrical explosion and fire blows off manholes, disrupts train service, in Portland (Oregon):

Quote: "Steve Minor, who was on a MAX train at the time, said the explosion shook the whole train."

Quote: "Thought we hit a car then lots of smoke. Thought car or train was on fire. … then saw debris and thought it maybe a bomb. Driver of max said he saw a fireball."

2013-08-06 - Underground electrical fire hits Forest Park neighborhood in Springfield (Massachusetts):

2013-08-06 - Transformer bursts into flame outside rehab center in Rogers (Arkansas):

Quote: "Wilmington police and fire departments had to use flash lights to direct the traffic."

2013-08-06 - Landfill erupts in flame in Smiths Creek (Michigan):

2013-08-06 - Furniture storage warehouse destroyed by fire at 1:30 AM in coastal Sarasota (Florida):

Quote: "Nobody was inside the warehouse, but the facility was used to store kitchen sets and bar stools for Dinettes Unlimited, Wollheim’s furniture business."

Quote: "In the same area within a month, there were two other fires — one in a trash bin and another in a tractor-trailer..."

Note: So, wood (furniture), trash and a vehicle burning in them thar parts recently. That area is on Florida's Gulf Coast, directly downwind of the Gulf of Mexico. Lots of mysterious human deaths along that coast too...

2013-08-06 - Wildfire mostly contained near Lake Elsinore (California):

2013-08-06 - Nudist colony hit by fire in Saranac (Michigan), near Lake Saranac:

Note: As a wise towel once said, 'Don't forget to bring a towel!'

2013-08-06 - Boat bursts into flame while docked at Thamesport Marina in coastal New London (Connecticut):

2013-08-06 - Boat bursts into flame on Foote Pond in Oscoda (Michigan):

2013-08-06 - In separate events, passenger bus and car burst into flame in Fremont (Nebraska):

Quote: "'It was arson fires,' he said. 'They went from one to another to another.'"

Note: Some garage doors burned too. First was the bus, at 5:11 AM, followed by the car fire a few blocks away right after the bus fire, followed by the garage doors burning at 6:06 AM. Nobody saw anybody, no motive, no nothin', so they're just assuming arson. And yet if 'they' is the WIND, will it not go from one to another to another? It just might. Maybe this was arson, maybe not, but until I see evidence of people being involved, I'm not making that assumption. Fremont is just northeast (downwind) of the Platte River. The wee hours are when the atmosphere cools and contracts, which will push any methane or hydrogen sulfide floating in the air above closer to the ground...

Note: A massive fire just damaged 48 storage units in Sumter (South Carolina), as mentioned in the 2013-08-05 update. These places magnify the risk of fire from hydrogen sulfide's copper and rust reactivity. If ANYONE has some rusty iron/steel or a battery-powered anything (vehicle or golf cart, whatever) in a storage unit, then ALL units are in danger. Some of these places are probably better insulated from the outdoor atmosphere than others are too. If you have to use a storage facility then you might wanna be selective, take a good look at the place and its location in relation to any creeks or ponds or lakes and the like...

2013-08-06 - Man found dead in bathroom, and infant in serious condition, in hotel room in Laredo (Texas):

Note: The man was dead inside the bathroom, the infant not dead and not in the bathroom, and a woman is okay. So looks like hydrogen sulfide got in via the water supply, and the man got poisoned that way, either by gas that evaporated out of the water, or by contaminated water. The baby wasn't in the bathroom, but babies are small, so the baby was affected (which means there may have been some gas, unless the baby had contact with the water too). The woman, much larger than an infant, didn't seem to feel any effect at all. It'd be handy to see the exact layout of that room and where people were, but they'll never provide that much detail...

Note: Nowhere near enough to drown someone, unless, say, hydrogen sulfide knocks them unconscious and then they topple forward face-first into four inches of water and then breathe water until dead...
