Event Update For 2013-08-16

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Category: Fires And Explosions
2013-08-16 - Home explodes and burns at Guilford Lake in Lisbon (Ohio), 1 seriously burned:
Quote: "I tried to get him to sit down, but he didn't want to. His skin was coming off of his hands and starting to come off of his face. It looked like if you were to touch his face the skin would have come off..."
Note: That house is about 500 feet east-northeast (downwind) of the lake...
2013-08-16 - Home explodes on Miller Avenue in Euclid (Ohio):
Quote: "The house erupted into massive chunks, with the chimney blown apart and scattered in different backyards. The entire 2nd floor was flipped upside down. Windows were shattered in multiple neighboring homes, spraying glass in every direction. At least one other house was knocked off its foundation."

2013-08-16 - Garage explodes and burns in Youngstown (Ohio), 3 motorcycles and car damaged too:

Quote: "A woman who lives in the home said she heard a loud boom and that’s when she noticed the fire in the garage."

2013-08-16 - Shed explodes at business in Blades (Delaware):

Quote: "Firefighters dispatched to the scene found a small shed containing safety equipment had a propane container inside with a small leak. The gas was apparently sparked by an electrical panel inside the shed, Chaffinch said."

Note: Propane isn't reactive with copper, even electrified copper. Hydrogen sulfide, however, is. This may be one of those events where there is some OTHER flammable gas in the air mix (in this case propane) and a little bit of hydrogen sulfide blows through and acts as the igniter. This is likely why so many boats are exploding and/or burning right after refueling now. The gas vapors fill the air, then a little hydrogen sulfide finds some rusty iron/steel or electrified copper and acts as the igniter, and the boat goes up in flames or explodes...

2013-08-16 - Landfill erupts in flame in Bend (Oregon):

Quote: "Firefighters minutes later said the fire was coming from the basement of the receiving facility and a truck apparently was involved."

Quote: "The CDD said wood, dead trees and old furniture are dumped at the landfill."

2013-08-16 - Tree recycling facility hit by fire at 5:30 AM in Omaha (Nebraska), second time in a week:

2013-08-16 - Patch Springs Fire rages through Willow Springs (Utah), at least 10 homes destroyed:

2013-08-16 - Seven fishing boats destroyed by fire while moored in coastal North Jakarta (Indonesia):

Quote: "He said the fire, which started at 9:30 p.m. on the Cakrawala boat, spread quickly and engulfed seven other boats moored at Muara Baru Pier."

Note: That sounds like eight boats then, but the title says seven. I'll be conservative and go with seven. Also, just like cars, if you park your boat near another boat, you've just increased the risk of your boat being destroyed by fire, because the fire might start in the other boat but still hit yours...

Quote: "A fire that appeared to have started on the outside of 622 German St., near an overhang on the south side of the two-story building, got into the wood frame structure and above the ceiling, causing widespread damage inside..."

Note: So this fire began outside. The outside of buildings is obviously more exposed to the atmosphere than the inside. Hydrogen sulfide blowing by some rusty iron/steel (like nails) or electrified copper wiring is all it takes to start a fire...

2013-08-16 - Scientists teleport data over a circuit:

Note: Many people have long wondered, if the universe has other intelligent life, why haven't we heard them? If they communicate by using quantum entanglement or some other similar technology then we would never hear them; there'd be nothing to hear, just data at point A appearing at point B and vice versa, no radio waves, no light, nothing detectable at all. This means of communication would be ideal for any interstellar civilization since it bypasses lightspeed limitations, so no waiting hours or days for a reply to be received. Stealthy as well as instantaneous...
