Event Update For 2017-12-13

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

  1. Hey Jonny, and Mike, I composed my usual lengthy comment this morning and got hit with one of those unwarranted "warning you need to call this number right now to take the pornographic spyware off your computer" messages that totally take over your screen and cause you to have to shut down and re-start the device. Major pain in the ass!

i'll start over and see what happens.

    1. This past week I've had something similar happen, but even more sneaky. Several times a day when I try to go to a website I get directed to a page that appears to be from my ISP, which is Spectrum. (Formerly Time Warner Cable). It says that I need to verify my new modem. It asks for my account number and zip code which seems pretty reasonable. Not too intrusive. But then the page says that Spectrum is unable to confirm and then gives a number to call. I'm sure if you call they will then ask for specific info that they can use to steal your identity.

But in general it, or something has made the net wonky and unstable. Maybe its them gol' dern Russkies!!! I'll call Rachel Maddow. Lol...

  2. And Mike D had some probs yesterday too. Must be something disruptive goin' on in internetland somewhere. Lots of internet stuff in California - I wonder if the fires are causing some problems here and there.

  3. Heh, guess I didn't read enough - yeah, that stuff sucks. I wonder if there will be more of that. Odd that one day after net neutrality voted to be repealed, problems crop up. Could be a coincidence, I suppose.

Also, what was the horrible problem we were enduring with net neutrality in place, anyway? That corporations didn't have enough control of our data and weren't able to gouge us for more money? Because if those are the only problems that got solved, I could've lived with those problems, because corporations not being able to do those things seemed more like a feature than a problem from my perspective as a normal person.

  4. I began with the HEAT down-under:

    Bernie Who?

My how things change. In this week in 2008 Bernie Madoff went to jail for running a Ponzi scheme that was a fraction of the size of BitCasino. In the eight years since that time, pot was "medicinalized" to wean addicts off of the mega tons of heroin sold by big pharma. And since Social Security was no longer solvent, they decided to legalize Ponzi schemes as well. Last count, 1,357. Not including Dow Casino...

  7. We're gettin' a little more snow (just enough to make driving treacherous) on top of the maybe an inch we got yesterday, that was all but gone (on the roads) by today.

    [mega-precip event of the day]
Blizzard dumps three feet of snow in Pakistan

Roadblocks, power breakdowns and severed supplies continue to dog the mountain communities.

Electricity too disappeared with the snowfall. "It will take days to restore power supply," said a Pesco official. He said Pesco personnel were unable to move equipment in snow, while it was also raining with frequent intervals. [more]

  8. Did I mention that I had to drive my granddaughter to her pre-game practice at 5:30 (the height of rush hour)?

The normal 20 minute drive took an hour. Some drivers are complete assholes in this kind of weather and horrible driving conditions. You couldn't safely go more than about 25 mph because stopping was almost impossible. After I got here I saw the plow & salt trucks going in the other direction. No matter what they do - it's going down to 20 tonight, so black ice will be everywhere.
