Event Update For 2015-06-23

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

  1. Not 10 minutes after my last post the 75 mph wind roared through, ripping large branches off of trees, toppling some (like my apple tree), power went out and that's where it stands at my house. The interesting thing about my house is that when the power goes out there's no water (electric well pump), so i'm a little gamey and unshaven, but i showed up for final exams today (first summer session ends and the second starts next week, goes to mid August). This was declared the fifth worst storm to hit SE PA according to the news. NJ had a few towns hit worse than us, but the damage and loss of power is worse in PA because of the wide area effected.

i'm hopeful that electricity will be restored today, since i saw about 50 of those electric company bucket trucks marshaling their forces about 20 minutes down the road from home. i lost a refrigerator worth of food and have been cleaning up the yard of debris and branches for the past days. Aside from reading, there's nothing else to do.

i missed your site, and i'm glad i'm still around to view it.

  2. Glad you survived! Sucks to lose a whole fridge full of food. Whenever bad stuff happens to me, I remember this couple I saw on TV after the big quake in Haiti in 2010. The couple had no home because the quake had destroyed it and bad rainstorms were hitting them and they were sitting on a bench with the man holding a board over their heads - that was their shelter, a BOARD, that's it!

  3. Yeah, it could always have been worse, and i'm happy it didn't kill me this time; one of these days though, Jonny, i think that's how it ends - ya get cut off, run out of supplies, or the storm kills you or causes massive destruction of the entire community, disease starts spreading, people go crazy, nobody comes to your aid (because they can't) . . .and it just spirals down to oblivion eventually.

More methane seeps discovered in the deep ocean

Over a course of 12 days Dr. Giuliana Panieri and her colleagues from Centre for Arctic Gas Hydrate, Environment and Climate (CAGE) collected images from seven areas of known methane release in the Arctic Ocean. One of them was Vestnesa Ridge, with over 1000 active seep sites at the depth of over 1000 m.

"This is the first time that we have seen these methane seeps in the deep Arctic Ocean areas. The images are amazing." says Panieri.

  4. And they recently for the first time found dead zones in the deep ocean too. All these 'first times' aren't good! That's the planet changing big-time right in front of us, and not in ways helpful for human survival. We're all on borrowed time now. Like Ray Charles once said, live each day like it's your last because one of these days it will be. However true that was when Ray was alive, it's way more true now.

  6. Here's a weather forecast for the west for the weekend:

For Sunday, 105 degrees in Spokane, 109 in Boise - whew!

  7. What is this, Pakistan?!

  8. You know those people in Spokane aren't used to 100+ temps. In normal times, at this time of year, it'd be 77 degrees there. The whole world's starting to get Pakistanized. Okay, not Norway, but still!
