Event Update For 2017-04-10

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

An Electromagnetic pulse due to nuclear detonation?

The US fleet – counting down to disaster?
    http://robinwestenra.blogspot.com/2017/04/an-electromagnetic-pulse-due-to-nuclear.html

The US fleet is due to arrive at it's destination off the Korean Peninsula in 4 to 7 days.

Those of us in the US West may be more vulnerable to any international attack coming from Asia. l'm concerned about the possibility of an Electromagnetic pulse due to nuclear detonation or cyber attacks on our very vulnerable power grids.

If an EMP were to arrive, we would be mostly without our cars, phones, internet and all forms of electicity. It would take a good many months or years to recover from that. If you have any intention of preparing for that possibility now is the time.

Fish stocks in the Mediterranean Sea are in deep trouble

The Mediterranean fish stocks have almost completely collapsed
    http://robinwestenra.blogspot.com/2017/04/fish-stocks-in-mediterranean-sea-are-in.html

The fish stocks in the Mediterranean Sea are in deep trouble. The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre has found that 93% of assessed fish stocks are overexploited, and some are almost completely gone. At between 10 000 to 12 000 species, the Mediterranean sea contains 7 to 10% of the world’s marine biodiversity. Not to mention that it is an economically important fishery.

However, the sea is now in grave danger. Multiple factors are affecting it: pollution, climate change, and overfishing are just a few. [more; there goes the food]

  3. Oh yeah, I know about those popup ads - effing annoying! What seems to work for me is to hit yes/okay on whatever button comes up and then IMMEDIATELY hit Control-F4 (which closes that window). If a popup asks if I'm sure I want to leave this page, I also click yes and if the window doesn't close, again, I hit Control-F4. Mostly that prevents me from having to do an entire reboot. Not sure if you wanna try that yourself or not. Your call, just telling you what I do with those &^$*(# ads.

  5. Depending on your browser, there's another way to eradicate the blackmailware tab too. I know this works with Firefox. When the blackmailware tab opens and starts yelling crap, you can open Task Manager, select Firefox and click 'End Task'. Then rerun Firefox, click the 'Restore Session' button, deselect the tab with the blackmailware in it, and then it'll load all the other tabs you had open EXCEPT the bad one.

So, there's some things to try if you'd rather avoid a reboot. The second method will work only with browsers that let you restore session when the browser crashes and which also allow you to individually select the tabs to load after restoring from a crashed browser session. Firefox definitely allows that. Other browsers, I dunno.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Also, regardless of what browser you're using, if rebooting only means that you're gonna run the browser again after the reboot with no tabs open, basically starting fresh, then using Task Manager to 'End Task' on your browser will accomplish that without a reboot. If the blackmailware tab has mostly taken over the keyboard, then hit Alt-Control-Delete, and the option to run Task Manager should be there. If the tab hasn't taken over the keyboard then you can just run Task Manager normally and kill the browser. That's more certain than the Control-F4 method, but the Control-F4 method keeps your other tabs open and just closes the blackmailware tab, so while less certain, it's handier when it works.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Of course, only the Control-F4 method will keep your other tabs open, preventing you from losing whatever message you may have partially completed in the other tabs - like a post here. Heh. So the other methods will get you out of the blackmailware tab, but you'll lose your message - but at least hopefully without having to do a full reboot.

Anyway, just tryin' to help - I totally detest those blackmailware things!

    http://www.fasterthanexpected.com/2017/04/11/scientists-just-uncovered-some-troubling-news-about-greenlands-most-enormous-glacier/

The largest glacier in Greenland is even more vulnerable to sustained ice losses than previously thought, scientists have reported.

Jakobshavn glacier, responsible for feeding flotillas of icebergs into the Ilulissat icefjord — and possibly for unleashing the iceberg that sank the Titanic — is an enormous outlet for the larger Greenland ice sheet, which itself contains enough ice to raise seas by more than 20 feet. [more]

[hat-tip NeilT @ Arctic Sea Ice Blog comments section]

The amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere continues to accelerate upwards despite global efforts

The last two years had "unprecedented" increases

The primary driver of global warming, disruptive climate changes and ocean acidification is the ever-increasing amount of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere.

Every major nation in the world has agreed that climate change must be limited to a maximum of +2oC in global warming. Beyond that point we risk destabilizing droughts, floods, mega-storms, heat waves, food shortages, climate extremes and irreversible tipping points. The best climate science says that staying below +2oC means we can't exceed 450 ppm of CO2. [more; really good read]
