Event Update For 2017-04-18

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Solar panels release high levels of greenhouse gas

Solar Panels Increased Emissions Of A Gas 17,200 Times More Potent Than CO2

New federal data shows a potent greenhouse gas — that’s also a byproduct of solar panel construction — is on the rise.
Nitrogen trifluoride (NF3) is a key chemical agent used to manufacture photovoltaic cells for solar panels, suggesting government subsidies and tax credits for solar panels may be a driving factor behind the 1,057 percent in NF3 over the last 25 years. In comparison, U.S. carbon dioxide emissions only rose by about 5 percent during the same time period.

NF3 emissions have rapidly increased in Asia as well due to its rapidly growing solar panel market, and researchers think that many nations are under-reporting their NF3 emissions by roughly a factor of 4.5.

NF3 emissions are 17,200 times more potent than CO2 as a greenhouse gas over a 100 year time period. [more]

Sea creatures ‘dissolving’ in warming Pacific ocean – study

The mixture of warming waters and ocean acidification is proving a lethal combination for many sea creatures who are dissolving in the hostile conditions, according to a new study.

The study, from the University of California, found that marine animals are dissolving in Pacific waters off the Northern California coast.

“We thought there would be some thinning or reduced mass,” said lead author Dan Swezey of the study, which saw ocean conditions recreated in a lab with cloned tiny invertebrates, known as bryozoans. “But whole features just dissolved practically before our eyes.” [more]

  2. Methane gas bubbles under permafrost

7,000 massive methane gas bubbles under the Russian permafrost could explode anytime
Scorching March brings Arctic temperatures up to 20°F warmer than normal.

This discovery is especially worrisome for three reasons. First, methane traps 86 times as much heat as CO2 over a 20-year period. Thawing permafrost creates both CO2 and methane (CH4), but most models of thawing permafrost assume only CO2 is created. If, as it appears, a lot of methane is being generated, then we’ll see even more extra warming than scientists have projected.
Second, a recent study found global warming will defrost much more permafrost than we thought.Third, the permafrost has already been warming at an alarming rate. In general, the Arctic warms twice as fast as the planet as a whole.
Last summer saw “an abnormally warm summer in 2016 on the Yamal peninsula” of Siberia where many of these bubbles have been found, notedthe Russian Academy.
But in March, Siberia again saw stunning temperatures, according to NASA’s latest monthly report. Globally, it was the second hottest March on record, losing out only to March 2016. Parts of Siberia and the Arctic were as much as 12.1°C (22°F) above the 1951–1980 average.
Finally, you may be wondering if the United States has any of these methane land mines, what are called “exploding” or “alternative” pingos. (A regular pingo is “mound of earth-covered ice,” so they don’t generally explode.)
Vladimir E. Romanovsky, a permafrost decay expert at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, told the Washington Post that the methane-filled alternate pingos are “definitely related to warming,” and could appear in Canada or Alaska.
“It is just a matter of time when some of those craters appear in North America as well,” Romanovsky said. Already, several pingos have emerged “right under the Alaskan pipeline,” the scientist said. [more]

To which I responded: So it’s okay for all those years of emitting a gas that has an impact 17 THOUSAND times as bad as CO2 so that MAYBE (if you want to believe the lying government) solar panels will improve. Keep dreaming leslie.

  4. Even if solar panels were neutral, they still take materials, which are dug up using machines, transported to factories by more machines, built with machines at factories powered by coal and gas, and eventually shipped to the destination with machines. Unless the entire chain, from rocks to solar panels, is freed from reliance on burning fuel, then it's gonna make things worse. Solar power may make things worse SLOWER - maybe - but that's not the same as not making things worse. So yeah, solution it is not.
