Event Update For 2020-03-18

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Note: Methane levels in the atmosphere are rising, especially in the Arctic. Methane reacts away ozone - a 'proper ozone destruction process' you might say. Methane levels rising, ozone layer disappearing, those two things are very likely related...

  1. Good morning everyone. I am officially on day 4 of self isolation due to having symptoms of this respiratory illness but as of Tue, the closest place to get a test was OKC. No clinic or Dr.office is even offering it and I was diagnosed with severe bronchitis, given 2 shots, charged $245 for the pleasure, then walmart rx charged $120 for doxycycline and the proair inhaler. As a CNA in a LTC facility, I am screwed. I haven't been there long enough to get insurance and the upper management nurses tend to be assholes to ill staff. The facilities in my area were scary before covid-19, now it's just plain clusterflukery. I'm not afraid, my temp has been normal for 24 hours and I feel my symptoms were exacerbated by the bleach fumes the housekeeping was using to disinfect the place with,(I think that was my catalyst). Anyway, in this county the number of 60+ people is big and they ARE afraid yet very confused thanks to their dependence on fox news.
Last weekend started our screening process and the threat of abandonment charges if we try to leave once the facility is placed in lockdown. We're force to the doctor if we have: fever, cough, SOB....(over half of my patients have these symptoms too).... so, here's to all the low level heroes NO ONE is talking about, stay safe and just remember, UNIVERSAL PRECAUTIONS!.....

Will This Be “Just A Recession” Or Will It Be “The Next Great Depression”?
    http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/will-this-be-just-a-recession-or-will-it-be-the-next-great-depression

As America slowly but surely shuts down from coast to coast, everyone is acknowledging the fact that we are heading into a very serious economic downturn. Originally, many experts were warning that this coronavirus pandemic could spark a recession, but now some are actually starting to use the “d” word. Yesterday, I wrote about the government planning document that envisions an 18 month pandemic, multiple “waves” of infections, and “critical shortages” of important supplies. If that scenario actually plays out, what we will experience will be far, far worse than the “Great Recession” of 2008 and 2009. So let us hope that a way can be found to slow down the spread of this virus.

At this point, many of our top minds are fearing the worst. On Thursday, former White House economist Kevin Hassett warned CNN that we could actually see a repeat of the Great Depression… [more]

The Lesson U.S. Shale Refuses To Learn
    https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/lesson-u-shale-refuses-learn-230000382.html

It feels like 2014 for the oil industry all over again, except this time, things could get even worse.

Most U.S. shale wells have a breakeven well above today’s current oil prices. The result will be that the shale industry in the United States will be hit - and hard. Why is U.S. shale not prepared for this low-price environment?

If someone would have conducted a survey among U.S. shale producers about whether they expected the price of oil to sink below $30 a barrel just five years after the last crash, most of them likely would have said “no way”. But this is today’s ugly reality: West Texas Intermediate dropped to nearly $20 a barrel earlier this week and at the time of writing was trading at a little over $25. Brent crude has sunk to $30 a barrel. And this is really bad news for U.S. shale because it is much lower than the breakeven price for most wells. [more]

Ethicists agree on who gets treated first when hospitals are overwhelmed by coronavirus
    https://qz.com/1821843/ethicists-agree-on-who-should-get-treated-first-for-coronavirus

Different moral theories, same answer The decision to prioritize those with good survival odds is reinforced by several moral theories. Utilitarianism, for example, argues that morality is determined by the consequences of actions, and so we should strive to create the maximum good for the maximum number of people. If we give scarce treatments to those who don't stand to benefit (and have a high chance of dying anyway), then not only will they die, but those with higher likelihood of survival (but require ventilator support) will also die,” says Lydia Dugdale, professor of medicine and director of the center for clinical medical ethics at Columbia University.
