Event Update For 2017-11-23

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2017-11-23 - Stench regularly spewing from sewer and sickening people in downtown Gainesville (Florida):

Quote: "On any given day, at any moment, a foul stench will creep up from a sewer into one of Gainesville’s oldest downtown buildings, where several businesses are located. The issue has been going on for more than six months. Employees located in the Wilson Building, on the corner of Northeast First Street and East University Avenue, have complained of a gaseous odor, as well as suffering from symptoms that include a sore throat, a weird taste in their mouths, burning eyes and respiratory issues, resulting in some taking sick days."

2017-11-23 - As the world warms, more methane being released, which causes more warming, which releases more methane, and so on:

Quote: "Due to climate change, including rising temperatures, more and more methane is bubbling up from lakes, ponds, rivers and wetlands throughout the world. The release of methane -- a potent greenhouse gas -- leads to a further increase in temperature, thus creating a positive feedback loop (also known as a 'vicious circle')."

2017-11-23 - Mysterious home-shaking explosions on the rise around the world, scientists baffled:

Note: The atmosphere is filling up with explosively flammable gases. It'd be odd if there weren't an increasing number of 'mysterious explosions'. The rise in these 'mysterious explosions' coincides with the rise of methane levels in the atmosphere and the increasing frequency of unknown rotten egg or 'gas odors' hitting cities around the world. Scientists can always drop by here if they want the explanation, or they can remain 'baffled' until they burn to death or fall over dead or whatever...

For years, the company and the government stayed mostly silent about the trash piles, even as developers built houses and a golf course near them and even as researchers documented serious health risks from chemicals in the sludge. 3. I've seen people make the argument that volcanoes add more carbon to the atmosphere than humans. Not even close. That outgassing at Mount Ruapehu, if it continued, adds up to 835,850 tons of carbon per year. Humans emit 40,000,000,000 tons. So divide the latter by the former and it'd take 47,855 of those volcanoes erupting continuously at that elevated level to equal what humans do. Volcanoes are like a rounding error compared to humans in terms of their carbon impact. Unless a supervolcano blows and then who knows, but then we'd definitely be even more screwed than we already are, which is saying something.

  4. A female worker was found dead with injuries under a motorized conveyor belt at the FedEx hub in Memphis. It is the third such fatal "accident" at the hub in three years. I'm wondering if a "medical incident" led to the employee falling in such a way that led to the injury. I'm wondering if the death came before the injury, or at least losing consciousness and unable to avoid injury. After all the ol' Mighty Mississippi River is nearby.

  5. Yeah, you gotta wonder! Seen some weird accidents, people toppling into vats of stuff at industrial facilities, getting squished by machines, that sort of stuff. There's no reason that people would only lose consciousness or spaz out while driving or swimming or walking. It could happen anywhere, and depending on what you're doing, that could be 'problematic'. Just collapsing anywhere outdoors in the cold of winter or heat of summer could kill you too if nobody sees you freezing or baking on the ground before you die, even without any machinery or industrial stuff being involved.

Is another historic snowy owl invasion about to start?

Pennsylvania and other northern states could be in the path of another big influx of snowy owls from the tundra of the Arctic again this winter.

Indications are building that many of the large owls, referred to by the code SNOW by licensed bird-banders, according to Project SNOWstorm, a snowy owl-tracking organization run in part through the Millersburg-based Ned Smith Center of Nature and Art.

The same four-year, boom cycle of lemmings - preferred prey of the owls - and snowy owls in northern Quebec that preceded the 2013-14 mass irruption of snowy owls south into the U.S. It was an irruption of snowy owls beyond any witnessed since the 1920s, or maybe the 1890s,

And, just as in 2013-14, many snowy owls have already turned up this year in the Northeast and Upper Midwest. A few have been confirmed in Pennsylvania. According to Scott Weidensaul, one of the directors of Project SNOWstorm, in the past few days there's been an unconfirmed sighting reported in Dauphin County. [more]
