Event Update For 2015-10-21

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Minor point of confusion: when a houseboat burns, is that considered in the same category as residential explosion and burning or is it relegated to the "boat" category? If not why not both (like the buses)?

    Another train burns!

How about an ATM going up in flames?! GAAH!

September 2015 had largest departure of temperature from average of any month since records began in 1880

    By: Jeff Masters
    21 October 2015

( – September 2015 had the largest departure of temperature from average of any month among all 1629 months in the record that began in January 1880, said NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) on Wednesday. (Note that since July and August are typically the warmest months globally in absolute terms, September was not Earth's warmest month in that regard.) NASA rated September 2015 slightly cooler, as the 2nd warmest September on record, falling below September 2014's mark. September 2015's warmth makes the year-to-date period (January - September) the warmest such period on record, according to both NOAA and NASA. September 2015 was the fifth consecutive month a monthly high temperature record has been set in NOAA's database, and the seventh month of the nine months so far in 2015. [more]

  2. If a houseboat explodes, I'd count that as both a residential explosion and a boat fire. If it just burns, or if it's a boat that explodes but it's not a houseboat (e.g. residence), then I just count it as a boat fire. Just checked - had lots of boats explode, and a fair number of houseboats burn, but haven't seen any houseboats explode and burn. It's possible some of the boats that have exploded were houseboats though - you know the news, sometimes (often) they skimp out on details.

They call it bombification for a reason. Pressures drop rapidly, wind speeds rage to epic force, and the storm presents a tell-tale angry red signature in the infrared satellite shot. During recent years, bombification has become an all-too-common word associated with ocean storms that are now feeding on unprecedented amounts of heat, moisture, and temperature differentials. Some have even claimed that Hansen’s terrifying ‘Storms of My Grandchildren’ are starting to arrive early. But what happened with Patricia was even outside the new abnormal bombification ‘norm.’ [more]
