Note: Here's a Google Maps link of the area. So some hydrogen sulfide blows off the ocean, settles onto the ground, adsorbs onto matter, like grass, then dogs lick it or sniff it, they're gonna get sick or die. This has happened to dogs at other parks too, in New York, in Australia, etc, almost always in parks near coasts...

2017-04-10 - At least 14 sea lions sicken on the coast in Orange County (California):

Quote: "At least 14 female sea lions, some of them pregnant, have fallen ill after a toxic algae bloom in the ocean along the Orange County coast. The Pacific Marine Mammal Center has taken in the sickened animals since April 4. Within the last two days, eight sea lions were rescued. A pregnant sea lion was rescued Tuesday morning, according to the center. The sea lions are being treated and are all in critical condition, according to PMMC."

Note: So dogs sickening on the coast in Northern California, sea lions sickening on the coast in Southern California...

Under the Marine Mammal Protection Act, an unusual mortality event is defined as 'a stranding that is unexpected; involves a significant die-off of any marine mammal population; and demands immediate response.'"

2017-04-26 - Endangered vaquita porpoise found dead in the Gulf of Mexico:

Quote: "An endangered vaquita porpoise was found dead in the Gulf of Mexico, the country's environmental protection authority said Wednesday, bringing to four the number of dead vaquitas found in 2017. There are only 30 remaining vaquitas (Phocoena sinus), scientists warned in February. The rare mammals, the world's smallest porpoise, live exclusively in the Gulf of Mexico. Scientists warn that they face extinction by 2022."

Note: At the current rate of dying, they'll be extinct well before 2022...

2017-04-27 - As coral dies off in Japan, emergency declaration issued:

Quote: "According to a recent study, more than 90 percent of corals in Japan’s Sekiseishoko reef – the country’s largest – are partially bleached while a shocking 70 percent died in 2016."

Quote: "The bodies of the foxes were found in Darnford Lane, Lichfield, over a two-week period. RSPCA inspector Laura Bryant said: "There are no visible injuries on the foxes, however I am concerned that there is a possibility that they have been poisoned, as it is unusual for there to have been three found in the same area in such a short space of time without an obvious cause of death."

Note: Just like all the people dropping dead without an obvious cause of death...
