Event Update For 2013-03-27

Full Hypothesis

Summary of Hypothesis

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

Predictions

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Quote: "The Ledgewood neighborhood is ground zero for what some said sounded like a sonic boom. 'The ground shook. It was like an earthquake...'"

Note: In the 2013-03-19 update, a bit over a week ago, I posed the question: what happens if a city suddenly tips a few degrees and slides into the ocean? That's not what happened here; this was smaller scale than that, but a good hunk of land did indeed slide away into the ocean. As the underwater and underground methane clathrate deposits give way along coastlines around the world, I fully expect to see more events like this, and that could at some point include towns or cities sliding into the ocean...

Prediction A - More Fires and Explosions, Especially Coastal

2013-03-27 - Explosion at marina shakes area in coastal Tutukaka (New Zealand):
http://www.newstalkzb.co.nz/auckland/news/nbnat/1837656546-tutukaka-marina-north-of-whangarei-evacuated-after-explosion

Note: They don't know what exploded. Might very well have been a pocket or cloud of hydrogen sulfide and/or methane, as with all the other mysterious explosions being heard, felt and sometimes seen around the world, shaking and sometimes damaging homes. Even if poison gas (hydrogen sulfide) and vicious fires weren't in our future (and our present, for that matter), these explosions alone might be enough to wipe human civilization from the surface of the Earth as they continue to escalate...

http://www.kearneycourier.com/news/article_ecf996fb-5472-5339-85ed-c75cabc5164d.html

Quote: "While first-responders were on their way, dispatch advised of a woman 'taking off her clothes.'"

Note: If hydrogen sulfide is indeed behind the recent spates of people stripping naked and acting crazy, as I highly suspect, then that would also potentially explain the car bursting into flame here, since it is an extremely flammable gas. I wish I could ask her why she took her clothes off. Was her body's heat-regulation system chemically disrupted, so she felt really hot, even though it was 30 degrees (F) outside?

2013-03-27 - Car bursts into flame while parked in parking lot in Mahwah (New Jersey):
http://mahwah.patch.com/articles/parked-car-destroyed-in-spontaneous-fire

Note: As mentioned, vehicles don't need to be running to spontaneously combust. Hydrogen sulfide is reactive with copper, especially 'hot' copper with a current running through it, like the wiring in cars, especially those thick cables near batteries...

2013-03-27 - Car bursts into flame while parked in car park in coastal Feock (Britain), fire spreads to adjacent car:
http://www.thisiscornwall.co.uk/Car-spreads-Feock-Church-car-park/story-18543728-detail/story.html

Note: This is why it's probably not a great idea to park your vehicle next to other vehicles, or next to your residence...

Note: This was on Maryland's Eastern Shore, as opposed to the dozens of fires at vacant structures on Virginia's Eastern Shore. I guess all of the coastal eastern states in the U.S. may have an Eastern Shore. And they didn't call these two buildings barns, but that's basically what they were...

2013-03-27 - House destroyed by blaze on Kachina Drive in Colorado Springs (Colorado):
http://www.kktv.com/home/headlines/Structure-Fire-in-Colorado-Springs-200365961.html

Quote: "It's not the first fire on Kachina Drive in the last couple of years. Cimarron Hills Fire Chief Matt Love couldn't give an exact number, but told 11 News there have been several on the street: some structure fires, some in nearby bushes. As recently as December two fires broke out at the same mobile home within a 24-hour period."

Note: That's what you'd expect to see in areas that are topographically vulnerable to fires caused by hydrogen sulfide: multiple fires at the same location, dried brush catching fire, repetition. Whatever this area's vulnerability, putting out a fire doesn't address it. The problem, if it's topographic, probably isn't fixable in which case eventually everything that can burn there WILL burn, but then that's probably true of all areas...

2013-03-27 - Huge fire tears through home in the Bayview District in coastal San Francisco (California), 7 people homeless:

Quote: "The fire, which appears to have started in the area of the panel box, was contained to the basement of the two-story home..."

Note: Basements and underground areas are where a heavier-than-air gas like hydrogen sulfide will tend to accumulate, and hydrogen sulfide is also reactive with copper, especially 'hot' copper with a current running through it, like the wiring found around panel boxes and the electrical facilities commonly found underground in cities and towns all over...

Note: Fires didn't USED to start by themselves. (Well, not often, anyway.) They do now, all the time. That's one consequence of our atmosphere filling up with hydrogen sulfide and methane, both flammable gases, e.g. accelerants...

Prediction B - More Animal Die-Offs

2013-03-27 - Thousands of dead fish washing ashore at beaches in Southern Australia:
http://au.news.yahoo.com/latest/a/-/latest/16427549/dead-fish-wash-up-on-sa-beaches/
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-03-25/seaweed-piles-up-along-glenelg-beach/4592230

Quote: "Environment Department chief executive Allan Holmes says the seaweed pile-up and fish deaths could both have been caused by warmer seas. 'Those two things possibly are linked. The suggestion is that the warmer gulf temperatures are responsible for lower oxygen levels and those fish kills,' he said."

Note: Warmer ocean temperatures also melt methane clathrate deposits and broaden the viable habitat for the ancient anaerobic archaea and bacteria that produce hydrogen sulfide, which is as lethal to fish as it is to birds and humans and other oxygen-using life...

Prediction D - More Corpses In Low-Lying Areas

2013-03-27 - Charred corpse found in burning car on Hard Scrabble Road in Charleston (South Carolina), near Lake Murray:
http://northeastcolumbia.patch.com/articles/body-found-in-car-fire-on-hard-scrabble-road
http://columbia-sc.patch.com/articles/body-found-in-car-fire-on-hard-scrabble-road

Note: Not everyone escapes alive when their vehicle bursts into flame. Hydrogen sulfide can knock you unconscious or kill you with one or two breaths AND it is also flammable and reactive with copper like battery cables, so it's probably knocking people out and igniting vehicles at the same time, here and there...

2013-03-27 - Charred corpse found in woods near canoe launch in coastal West Haven (Connecticut):

2013-03-27 - Missing farmer, 56, found dead near burned-out camp in Crabwood Creek (Guyana):
http://www.stabroeknews.com/2013/news/stories/03/28/farmer-found-dead-at-crabwood-creek-backlands/

Quote: "A Crabwood Creek farmer was yesterday found dead on his farm with his nearby camp burnt to the ground. The body of Phagoo Maniram, 56, called ‘Radesh,’ of Lot 36 Grant 1806, Crabwood Creek, did not have any marks of violence."

Note: A hydrogen sulfide plume may have swept in off the ocean and ignited his camp AND killed this man, as it is both a deadly and flammable gas. He may even have been in his camp at first and tried to run, but didn't make it far. In concentrations of 1 part per thousand, hydrogen sulfide can knock you dead almost instantly, with the so-called 'Slaughterhouse Sledgehammer Effect', where you are dead before you hit the ground...

Quote: "According to Foy, the body had no signs of trauma or struggle, but foul play is suspected."

Note: Probably just got a whiff of hydrogen sulfide and flopped over dead. It's all about timing now. Take a breath at the wrong time in the wrong place and you'll die. It doesn't even have to kill you directly for you to end up dead. It might just knock you unconscious, but if you're driving or skydiving or swimming or leaning over a balcony then you might end up dead anyway...

Note: Hydrogen sulfide poisoning in many cases will look exactly like 'natural causes': no sign of trauma, no sign of violence, possibly a damaged heart. Unless a coroner is REALLY LOOKING for it, then they will probably never know. And why would they look? It's normally only a problem for septic workers and petroleum workers, except that every once in a while the Earth's waters belch it up in large amounts and that causes a large-scale extinction event, which is what's happening...

2013-03-27 - Car veers off road, hits tree, bursts into flame, in Richland County (South Carolina), driver incinerated:
http://www.midlandsconnect.com/news/story.aspx?id=877983

Quote: "Authorities say the damage was minor, and the vehicle may have gotten stuck in the sand before catching fire. The car was completely engulfed when the fire department arrived. Watts says it is not yet known if Burgess fell asleep while the vehicle was running or had some other issue that kept him from getting out of the car. He died at the scene from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries associated with the car fire."

Note: Minor crash, little damage, but the driver didn't get out, so he burned to death. He may have gotten a whiff of hydrogen sulfide, which knocked him unconscious AND ignited the car (it's both deadly and flammable), and didn't get out because he wasn't conscious. I call this type of crash 'the standard model', as it's becoming very common: veer off road, hit tree, burst into flame, often with fatalities...

Note: Garden Grove is about 5 miles from the coast. The entire West Coast is downwind of the dead zone known as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, which is surely pluming hydrogen sulfide now. As the plumes increase in concentration it won't just be people sickening but flat-out dying, as hydrogen sulfide is as lethal as hydrogen cyanide which is used in gas chambers. Note: As with all previous extinction events, insects are apt to fare better than reptiles or mammals or birds or fish in the current extinction event. Their tenacity is probably because they reproduce quickly and vigorously and reach adult functionality fast, so they can out-reproduce their own die-off better than just about anything except bacteria and fungi and some plants. So as human civilization declines and animals of all kinds die off, insects may for a time reign supreme...

Note: Good idea, seeing as there will be a rising number of HazMat situations (as there already are) until everyone living on the surface of the Earth has been killed, and many of us will die from breathing hydrogen sulfide which will require a HazMat response. Might as well be organized and well-trained for the die-off...

  1. Many thanks for your hard work - looks like incidents are pickin up! Crazy! Is there a way for regular folks to check for Hydro Sulf and Methane in the air around their homes...cars...? While following up on the Plumstead Twcp barn fire, i found several Other fire links at bottom of the news page - CHECK those out! Did you see the other landslide in Seattle yest? Crushed a train? The firehouse fire (ozymoron) in Laurens, Sc that literally melted 5 Fire trucks was a simple cement block bldg! What source could cause those temps?

    1. Yeah, things are accelerating now!

They probably do sell methane detectors, but I didn't even look into that, because methane is a lighter-than-air gas, so it theoretically shouldn't hang around where we live at ground level.

They definitely do sell hydrogen sulfide detectors, mainly to septic workers. I bought one (kinda expensive) and it wore out after 6 months and needs a new $199 cartridge for each additional 6 months. (I should've read the details before I bought it.) But even when it worked, it was not as useful as I'd hoped.

There's certainly hydrogen sulfide blowing around now, but it's probably in scattered pockets, and they may not be that pervasive yet, so it might be something like if you stand around all day with your detector at ground level, then there's a 1% chance it picks up a positive, and if it does then there's a 50% chance that it kills you. One person with a detector isn't going to accomplish much; we need big-time NETWORKS of detectors, to allow forecasting for regions and stuff. But that isn't going to happen because the governments don't want to tell us this harsh truth, because telling us might collapse 'the markets' and stuff.

So, seeing as my detector idea didn't work as well as I had wished, that's when I went the other way: assume some gas is going to be blowing by at some point, and therefore what can I do to protect myself and my loved ones? So I tried all the stuff I listed in the FAQ.

Doesn't mean I'm saying not to buy an H2S detector. Definitely doesn't hurt to have one around, if you can afford to keep it current with cartridges.

I musta missed the Seattle landslide! Have a link? Same for the 5 fire trucks burning! And hydrogen sulfide may absorb into concrete. I've seen at least two stories now that make me think it does sometimes, one where a concrete bridge support burst into flames right at the water, and one where the roof of a school caught fire and a guy passing by said something like, 'No idea what could be burning. I helped build that roof and there's nothing but concrete up there.' And hydrogen sulfide burns REALLY HOT. Look at some of the vehicle remnants, looks like some of the fires have melted STEEL. Gasoline won't do that, or plastic or rubber...

  2. April 16, 2012 Bucks County, Pa fire..."Young said the fire (a barn on Dark Hollow Road, small river running by and pretty close to Delaware canal and River), which broke out just before 5:30 p.m., was caused by spontaneous combustion." (barn fire) http://www.phillyburbs.com/my_town/tinicum-barn-destroyed-by-fire/article_1378f027-1139-5c77-8cd7-669128bc89df.html
The Point pleasant Barn fire of today (another barn fire) sits about 500 feet from the Delaware canal..Delaware River only 500 or so feet further... On the other side of the barn is a river about 300ish feet away! this barn is on a slope a bit higher than canal/river level, at the base of the mountain that rises out of Point Pleasant, between the canal/river and a River feeding into it.

    1. Good job looking into the details! Most people don't do that. I think a lot of people just discount what I'm saying out-of-hand without even taking a few minutes to take a closer look like that. It's nice to see someone peering more closely into things; reinvigorates my faith in humanity. ;)

  3. Considering the fact that the entire Black Sea is a methane hydrate gas zone (assuming that I am understanding the map correctly) you'd think that the Russians would have picked a more safer area to practice military drills especially since it was some of their scientists who were the first to warn about the potential disasters of melting hydrates.

    excerpt from Russia Today:

    Published on Mar 28, 2013

"President Vladimir Putin ordered the launch of military exercises in the Black Sea region on Thursday, his spokesperson said. Putin issued the order at 4:00am Moscow time (0000 GMT) as he flew back from an international summit in South Africa, the president's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said."

    1. Maybe they're not drilling, but trying some kind of mitigation tactic. Or maybe the deposits there aren't destabilizing yet. The entire planet's methane won't all blow at once; it's like a domino effect.

Also, I think a lot of the oceanic heat is coming from subsurface volcanic activity. There are 3 million volcanoes on Earth. The oceans cover 70% of the surface area of the Earth. But the plates in the oceans are thinnest, so there are more volcanoes in the oceans, so guesstimate 80% of the world's volcanoes are in the oceans. Yet in the last 2 years we've heard of about 100 volcanoes erupting, but only 3 or so were subsurface volcanoes. Those numbers don't make sense. Ergo, there are lots of volcanoes erupting in the depths, and either we don't know because we aren't looking, or those who do know aren't talking. And I don't know how thick the plates are at the Black Sea. Probably thicker than in the oceans, so maybe the Black Sea will be spared, at least for a time.

Russia trained with the U.S. and Britain and France, to defend the U.S. East Coast - Operation FRUKUS. But the only possible HUMAN enemy capable of seriously damaging the U.S. East Coast IS RUSSIA. So if they weren't training with us to help us defend against them, then we were all training to defend the U.S. East Coast against a NON-human enemy - gas? I think maybe so. I guess artillery and planes could blow up approaching gas plumes. Kinda crude tactic, but better than nothing.
