Event Update For 2020-02-18

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

  1. Man, these weeks go by quickly, Jonny! We haven't had much snow all winter (way below average) here in s/e PA, but we've had large March snowfalls in the past, so we'll see.

Lots of autos and tires going up in flames in today's report!
As usual, we have too many homes, apartments, mobile homes and buildings in general being destroyed by fire, and many people dropping dead.

Global Crop Failures Continue: In Australia This Is Going To Be The WORST HARVEST Ever Recorded
    http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/global-crop-failures-continue-in-australia-this-is-going-to-be-the-worst-harvest-ever-recorded

Global food production is being hit from seemingly every side. Thanks to absolutely crazy weather patterns, giant locust armies in Africa and the Middle East, and an unprecedented outbreak of African Swine Fever in China, a lot less food is being produced around the world than originally anticipated. Even during the best of years we really struggle to feed everyone on the planet, and so a lot of people are wondering what is going to happen as global food supplies become tighter and tighter. The mainstream media in the United States is so obsessed with politics right now that they haven’t been paying much attention to this emerging crisis, but the truth is that this growing nightmare is only going to intensify in the months ahead. Arctic Ocean February 2020
    http://arctic-news.blogspot.com/2020/02/arctic-ocean-february-2020.html

Arctic sea ice extent is falling and it may be that Arctic sea ice has already passed its maximum extent for the year, i.e. by February 9, 2020, at 14.03 million km².

On February 18, 2020, Arctic sea ice extent was 13.96 million km², just above the 2010s average. At first glance, that may not sound worrying. However, sea ice volume is at a record low for the time of the year. In other words, sea ice is very thin and there is little or no buffer left to consume the influx of warm, salty water from the Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean.[more]

Coronavirus is Spreading Rapidly in China (And One Minority Group Is Under Serious Threat)
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/coronavirus-spreading-rapidly-china-one-135700616.html

Despite widespread concerns that we are facing a new global pandemic, public health experts suggest that COVID-19 may become another endemic coronavirus, of which four already circulate in the world, including the common cold. This outcome would represent a significant public health burden, much like that posed by seasonal flu, which causes about 500,000 deaths globally every year.

But this view may fail to pick up on local or regional catastrophes. COVID-19 may evolve greater virulence by circulating in a population of people kept in close, unhygienic quarters, such as the estimated one million Uighur Muslims being held in detention camps in Xinjiang, north-west China.

On January 27, 2020, it was reported that at least 24 people in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region (XUAR) had contracted COVID-19, with more than 1,200 people placed under medical observation. These camps may, like the western front or crowded poultry farms, create the conditions for the virus that causes COVID-19 to evolve into an especially deadly form.

Unlike what we’re seeing with COVID-19 now, where people must be more or less mobile to infect others, in a detention camp this constraint on the virus disappears. There it can evolve high specialisation and virulence in the species it’s infecting – in this case, people.

If the Chinese government cannot or does not curb the transmission of the novel coronavirus in Xinjiang, it’s possible that it will evolve, as the influenza virus did in 1918, to become even more dangerous to humans. [more]

A couple flew on Delta from Hawaii to Japan and then tested positive for coronavirus. Now the airline is notifying the other passengers.
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/couple-flew-delta-hawaii-japan-190035613.html

Delta Air Lines and health officials are tracking down people who came in contact with a Japanese couple who tested positive for the novel coronavirus after flying to Japan from Hawaii.

The couple visited the Hawaiian islands of Maui and Oahu from January 28 to February 6, then flew home on Delta flight.

The next day, the man tested positive for COVID-19. A day later, the woman did too. [so they got on a plane?! WTF!!]

The man began displaying signs of the coronavirus while traveling in Oahu from February 3 to 6. According to the CDC, people can display symptoms of COVID-19 between two and 14 days after exposure, which means the man could have contracted the virus before arriving in Hawaii.

[see - so now ALL those people on the plane and everyone they came in contact with back in Hawaii have to be contacted, tested, then all the people THOSE infected came in contact with . . . - it'll spread around the WORLD before anyone can even finish LOOKING for all these people! HOLY SHIT!]

The 1,600-bed Wuhan coronavirus hospital that China panic-built in a few days is less than half full 11 days after it opened

Leishenshan hospital is meant to have a capacity of 1,600 beds, but has yet to fill them. 746 beds are full according to the latest figures.

The relatively slow uptake is a contrast with its construction, which was live-streamed by state media and stunned the world with its speed.

Its sister hospital, Huoshenshan, is now operating at around its 1,000-bed capacity. [more; yeah, check back nex' week]

One month stands out as a key indicator in AccuWeather's 2020 tornado forecast
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/one-month-stands-key-indicator-142242300.html

An early start in a particular area of the United States for tornado-related weather could signal what's ahead for the 2020 tornado season in the U.S.

AccuWeather forecasts a normal to slightly above-normal number of tornadoes in 2020 with a range of 1,350 to 1,450. That range is close to what occurred in 2019 and 5 to 15 percent more than the U.S. annual average.

AccuWeather is calling for more than double the average number of tornadoes in March, a typical total in April and roughly 10 to 30 percent more tornadoes than average in May. There are an average of 75 tornadoes in March, 178 in April and 269 in May, according to Storm Prediction Center records from 1991-2015.[more]

    http://www.fasterthanexpected.com/2020/02/19/oil-and-gas-firms-have-had-far-worse-climate-impact-than-thought/

The oil and gas industry has had a far worse impact on the climate than previously believed, according to a study indicating that human emissions of fossil methane have been underestimated by up to 40%.

The findings, published in Nature, suggest the share of naturally released fossil methane has been overestimated by “an order of magnitude”, which means that human activities are 25-40% more responsible for fossil methane in the atmosphere than thought. [more]
