Event Update For 2019-07-26

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2019-07-26 - Sargassum algae rotting along beaches and spewing hydrogen sulfide poses a health threat in the Caribbean:
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-travel-toxic-seaweed/toxic-seaweed-a-menace-to-caribbean-tourists-idUSKCN1UL1ZG
http://en.mercopress.com/2019/07/27/caribbean-tourists-warned-of-the-toxicity-of-sargassum-on-the-beaches
http://www.narcity.com/news/ca/toxic-seaweed-in-caribbean-poses-threat-to-canadian-travellers-warns-toronto-doctor
http://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/The-Invasion-of-Sargassum-Seaweed-Covering-Floridas-Beaches-513258771.html

Quote: "Tourists to the Caribbean may not realize that a brown drifting seaweed that’s been piling up on beaches in recent years is dangerous, researchers say. Travelers and doctors alike should be aware that prolonged contact with the Sargassum weed, or inhaling the hydrogen sulfide gas it gives off as it decomposes on the beach, can cause heart palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness, vertigo, headache and skin rashes, the authors write in the Journal of Travel Medicine."

Note: They forgot to mention memory loss, kidney damage, brain damage, comas, seizures and death. And it's not just a danger in the Caribbean, nor is it just a threat from that particular kind of algae. Any kind of rotting algae anywhere produces hydrogen sulfide, so it's also a problem in Florida and Mexico, at least, both of which are having their beaches blanketed by rotting sargassum algae, and France is now getting hit bad by rotting algae too, although it's not sargassum algae there...

2019-07-26 - Rotting algae spewing hydrogen sulfide along beaches and killing people and animals in Brittany (France):
http://www.express.co.uk/travel/articles/1158261/france-holidays-danger-green-algae-brittany-beach-travel-warning
http://nytimespost.com/france-holiday-warning-very-dangerous-toxic-beach-algae-poses-threat-to-tourists/

Quote: "France is struggling with an influx of toxic green algae infesting beaches in the popular holiday region Brittany. The algae is taking over the bay of Saint-Brieuc, on Brittany’s northern coast. The beach is carpeted with piles of rotting algae which stink of rotten eggs. The mayor of the Saint-Brieuc has been forced to close the beach to the public due to the threat of toxic fumes."

Quote: "Signs in both English and French warning 'Danger Toxic Gas' - complete with a skull and crossbones - caution locals and tourists alike to turn back."

Quote: "According to the French site, at least three people and dozens of animals (including wild boars, dogs and a horse) have died after inhaling hydrogen sulfide (H2S), a potentially lethal gas released by decaying algae."

2019-07-26 - Unknown foul smell hits Lincoln (Nebraska):
http://www.1011now.com/content/news/What-was-that-smell-in-Lincoln-513249421.html

Quote: "10/11 NOW heard from dozens of people who reported a foul smell in Lincoln on Thursday afternoon. Some of the questions and comments included, 'What is the cause of the rotten smell in the air all over Lincoln?' 'South 27th Walmart was horrible!' and 'What is that rotten smell on the southwest end of town here in Lincoln?' 10/11 NOW reached out to the Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department who said, simply, they don't know."

2019-07-26 - Greenland's ice sheet is experiencing accelerated melting at the base from anomalously high geothermal heat:
http://climatechangedispatch.com/studies-geothermal-heat-greenland/
http://robinwestenra.blogspot.com/2019/07/geothermal-heat-is-melting-greenland.html

Quote: "Yet another major research study, five if you’re counting, has concluded that accelerated melting at the base of Greenland’s glacial ice sheet is from anomalously high geothermal heat."

Note: There's not a thing we can do about heat from BELOW. Heat from the Sun being absorbed by an increasingly heat-absorbent atmosphere - we can do something about that. We aren't, but at least we COULD. Heat from below though - there's no solution at all for that. And that factors into all the other feedbacks too. The loss of ice is part of the albedo-loss feedback, for example, so when the heating from below adds to the ice melt, then the albedo-loss feedback gets amplified, which then amplifies the heat-absorption feedback, which amplifies the methane-expulsion feedback, and on and on it goes, like a runaway train...

2019-07-26 - Wildfires ravaging the Arctic right now are so intense that you can see them from space:

http://www.livescience.com/66022-wildfires-burning-arctic.html
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-49125391

Quote: "The Arctic is warming twice as fast as the rest of the planet, and after the hottest June ever recorded on Earth, the region is literally on fire. From Greenland to Siberia to Alaska, huge swathes of flame and smoke are wrapping themselves around the upper Northern Hemisphere of our planet, like a suffocating scarf."

Quote: "Since the start of June, more than 100 wildfires have sparked and burned in the Arctic circle. In Russia alone, 11 out of 49 regions are currently engulfed in flame."

Quote: "The amount of CO2 (carbon dioxide) emitted from Arctic Circle fires in June 2019 is larger than all of the CO2 released from Arctic Circle fires in the same month from 2010 through to 2018 put together."

Note: That's another feedback, the world-on-fire feedback. The more the world burns, the more CO2 that gets released into the atmosphere, which warms the planet up more, which makes the world burn more. Extrapolate just that one feedback out into the future and you end up with a world that is nothing but charred wasteland. But it'll be worse than that when you add in oxygen loss, poison gas blowing around, starvation from biosphere loss, randomly poisoned water supplies, lethal UV levels, radiation from all the nuclear plants once they melt down, etc, etc. Everything on the surface of the planet being incinerated will certainly be a big problem all by itself though...

2019-07-26 - As France endures historic heatwave, freak hail and snowstorm halts the Tour de France:

http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/national/a-stage-of-the-tour-de-france-was-stopped-because-of-a-snowstorm

Quote: "While much of France is experiencing a historic heatwave, the country's most prestigious cycling event was stopped Friday due to a freak hail and snowstorm. Stage 19 of the Tour de France was neutralized Friday when hail, snow and ice-covered the course at the Col d'Iseran, a mountain pass located more than 9,000 feet above sea level. Tour organizers cited slick and flooded conditions, saying the riders could not complete the course safely. There are some reports of landslides in the area."

  1. Hey Jonny, Fran, Mike D., Tom N., LL, Terry, FezzedOne and Panther.

[i appreciate it when y'all check in, like Terry and Panther lately - lets us know you're still with us.]

As Jonny indicates above, things are about to get "out of hand" what with all the recent developments noted and commented on by our host. It's getting worse faster than before. 2020 might be the year someone pulls the trigger on WW III just to get it over with. Collapse seems to happen "slowly at first, and then, all at once." Feedbacks too numerous to list (over 70 now), with more arising every day, all interacting and influencing each other, will crescendo into a "perfect storm" of tipping points, after which humanity as well as the biosphere will be overwhelmed.

The gas phenomenon by itself will kill off many more people before it's widely recognized (if ever) by the authorities.
Jonny's so ahead of the curve that he should be a PRIMARY SOURCE to refer to by them, but they continue to play dumb and use soothing, vague "medical issues" to deflect and evade any explanation. i'm sure many of them know and i'll bet some are secretly coming here to find real answers, but are forbidden to communicate them to the public. i've e-mailed fire stations about this way back when i discovered Jonny's work, but never received a reply.

More than 30 million people rattled after magnitude 6.3 struck near the south coast of Japan's island of Honshu Sunday

This mornings quake was the 13th major quake of July and the 90th of 2019.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe lied to the world! "Under control," declaration with Tokyo bidding to win the 2020 Olympics wasn't true: Still not under-control
    http://www.thebigwobble.org/2019/07/prime-minister-shinzo-abe-lied-to-world.html

Almost six years after Prime Minister Shinzo Abe famously declared the contaminated water problem at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant "under control," today it remains anything but.

Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) continues to face difficulties in dealing with water contaminated with radioactive substances at its crippled plant.

About 18,000 tons of highly contaminated water remains accumulated in reactor buildings and other places.

Abe made the "under control," declaration in September 2013 while Tokyo was bidding to win the 2020 Summer Games.

  2. Nationwide Trends in Air Stagnation Since 1973
    https://www.climatecentral.org/gallery/maps/nationwide-trends-in-air-stagnation-since-1973

With summer heat sticking around longer, temperature isn’t the only thing to worry about. Persistently hot weather patterns can also trap air pollutants in the lower atmosphere, in a phenomenon known as stagnation. These nearly stationary domes of hot air may hold particulates and ground-level ozone, causing health problems from respiratory distress to eye irritation. The next two weeks focus on air quality, starting with the concept of stagnation. [more]

'Don't ask don't tell' approach to new GMOs proposed by the USDA
    https://www.sott.net/article/417541-Dont-ask-dont-tell-approach-to-new-GMOs-proposed-by-the-USDA

Our right to know if it's GMO is officially under attack — again.

On June 6, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) proposed to overhaul longstanding regulations governing genetically modified organisms (GMO). The proposed new rule would revise the agency's current method for regulating genetically modified plants, and would exclude newer so-called "gene-edited" GMOs.

In a statement, the USDA said the new rule came "in response to advances in genetic engineering."

A week later, in the political equivalent of a one-two-punch, President Trump bolstered the USDA's proposal by signing an executive order directing the USDA, as well as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), to "streamline" GMO regulations in the U.S. for agricultural biotechnology, including for genetically modified livestock and seeds.

The full import of these two moves, and specifically the threat that they represent to consumer freedom, is only just starting to sink in — and the need for consumer action has become urgent. Contact the USDA here. [more]

Deforestation of the Brazilian Amazon has surged above three football fields a minute, according to the latest government data, pushing the world’s biggest rainforest closer to a tipping point beyond which it cannot recover.

“There are a number of tipping points which are not far away,” said Philip Fearnside, a professor at Brazil’s National Institute of Amazonian Research. “We can’t see exactly where they are, but we know they are very close. It means we have to do things right away. Unfortunately that is not what is happening. There are people denying we even have a problem.”

Beijing says millions of tonnes of U.S. soy shipped to China in trade consensus
    https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/u-ships-several-million-tonnes-114149495.html

The United States has shipped several million tonnes of soybeans to China since the two countries' leaders met in June, Chinese state media said on Sunday, an apparent sign of goodwill before trade talks in Shanghai this week.

The U.S.-China trade war has curbed the export of U.S. crops to China, with soybean sales falling sharply after Beijing slapped tariffs of 25% on American cargoes.

China has made enquiries to U.S. suppliers for the purchase of soybeans, cotton, pork sorghum and other agricultural products since July 19, and some sales have been made, state broadcaster CCTV said, citing China's National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Commerce.

"As long as the American agricultural products are reasonably priced and of good quality, it is expected that there will be new purchases," the report said.

China brought in 614,805 tonnes of soybeans from the United States in June, down 2.5% from June 2018 and down 37% from 977,024 tonnes in May, customs data released on Saturday showed. [more]
