Event Update For 2018-07-06

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

  1. I don't remember if you posted the death of long-time MSNBC show host Ed Schulz. I only bring it up because his death seems to have some JJFH markings. No reports that I've found state any battle with a long running health condition. Every report says that he died suddenly of "natural causes". A few said it happened in the early morning like this one....

Most reports say he died in his Washington DC home, while a few said it was in his "lake home" in Minnesota. But, the nearest hometown paper to his home in Minnesota is Fargo, ND which said he died in DC. (He got his start in radio in Fargo decades ago and he went to college just over the state line from Fargo at Minnesota State).

Anyway, the sudden "natural cause" death in the early morning is suspiciously JJFH. And DC is of course on an old swamp, literally, and is coastal too.

    1. Nope, missed him somehow, so thanks! And yeah, DC is not the safest place. Two big events that I recall offhand in DC:

      1) The Secretary of Commerce under Obama went crashing around DC in his car in 2012 and lost consciousness, maybe a seizure. No sign of drugs or alcohol. A few days later he resigned.

      2) The White House caught on fire one night. This was never in the news. The reason I know about it is, there was a sudden announcement one day - 2012 maybe? I forget - that there would be a bunch of military jets doing flights over DC overnight. I thought that was weird so while I was working on the update that night, I found a live webcam pointing at the White House. Around 2 AM I started seeing some flashes of light, like smallish explosions, around the exterior lights on the White House. The webcam had no audio but I imagine those small explosions sounded like 'popping sounds'. Then some bushes caught on fire. And then the webcam suddenly went offline.

So the next day, I tried to find some pics of the White House, see if there were any scorch marks. Every White House webcam was offline and they all stayed offline for the next eight or nine days. By the time any were back online, the White House looked normal.

There've been some other weird stuff in DC too - a food truck exploding near the White House, somebody having a 'medical event' outside the White House, little stuff like that - little, but all part of the overall pattern.

  2. Yeah, I've been looking for updates to that last story - nothing yet. [also trying to figure out those STRANGE lights over NJ]

Two garbage trucks AND a Hull event on this day (in fact, this is how the month started, with these two JJFH events occurring on the same day, with nothing for either one in between; rare).

Another ambulance up in smoke - that makes like 3 or 4 this month, not that i'm counting (. . .).

    Jis-lookadat-lissa DADE people, GEEZ!!

[Let's look around, see what else is 'comin' down da pike.']

Nopparat Khanthavong, the 37-year-old head coach of the Moo Pa (Wild Boars) soccer team, had an appointment that morning. Ekapol Chanthawong, his assistant, was to take the younger boys to a soccer field nestled by the Doi Nang Non mountain range, a formation with numerous waterfalls and caves that straddles the Thai-Myanmar border. [so he's the guy that "fucked up"]

The hours that followed kicked off a chain of events that has riveted the world: a dramatic search and rescue that found the boys alive nine days later, huddled on a small, muddy patch surrounded by floodwaters. Attention has focused on the only adult, 25-year-old former monk Ekapol, and the role he has played in both their predicament and their survival.

As the rush to figure out how to rescue the group continues some have chided Ekapol for leading the team into the cave. A large warning sign at the cave’s entrance raises the risk of entering so close to the monsoon season, they say, and he should have known better.

But for many in Thailand, Ekapol, who left his life in the monkhood three years ago and joined the Wild Boars as an assistant coach soon after, is an almost divine force, sent to protect the boys as they go through this ordeal. A widely shared cartoon drawing of Ekapol shows him sitting cross-legged, as a monk does in meditation, with 12 little wild boars in his arms.
According to rescue officials, he is among the weakest in the group, in part because he gave the boys his share of the limited food and water they had with them in the early days.He also taught the boys how to meditate and how to conserve as much energy as possible until they were found. Mysterious disappearances in Humboldt County, California

However, there has also long been a darker side to all of the natural splendor, pulsing under the peaceful visage, and Humboldt has unfortunately also become known for its strange unsolved vanishings, with one spate of such disappearances beginning in the 1990s. [illegal pot growing was firmly established here, and these weren't the nicest people to intruders and were by no means environmentally friendly, either]

On November 25, 1997, Mitchell left her aunt and uncle's shoe store and was heading towards a community center where she volunteered helping children. She was walking along in the middle of the day in broad daylight along a crowded street in downtown Eureka when she just seems to have disappeared into thin air. [more]

Slow suicide and the abandonment of the world

Of such suicides Albert Camus said, “Dying voluntarily implies you have recognized, even instinctively, the ridiculous character of that habit [of living], the absence of any profound reason for living, the insane character of that daily agitation, and the uselessness of suffering.” He called this feeling the absurd, and said it was widespread and involved the feeling of being an alien or stranger in a world that couldn’t be explained and didn’t make sense. Assuming this experience of the absurd, Camus wished to explore whether suicide was a solution to it. He concluded that it wasn’t. [more]

Study finds climate change shareholder resolutions have no impact on shareholder value

[Talk Talk, by the group Talk Talk, on their debut album Talk Talk]

A new study finds that the climate-based shareholder resolutions being so actively pushed by proxy advisory firms and their Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)-based institutional investors have “no statistically significant impact” on a company’s bottom line, either positive or negative. The study, funded by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), was led by the highly-respected PHD economist Joseph Kalt, Senior Economist at Compass Lexecon and is the Ford Foundation Professor (Emeritus) of International Political Economy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. [more]

Graph of the Day: Journalists missing or killed globally, 1992-2018

Journalism has never been a safe profession, but in 2018, it’s more than three times as dangerous as it was 2001. According to data collected by the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), murders and disappearances of reporters worldwide have increased from a low of 34 in 2002 to a high of 128 in 2015. And although it’s only halfway through 2018, the total so far is 92. [more]
