Event Update For 2018-06-20

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Trump declares war on the planet
Trump rescinds Obama policy protecting oceans

President Trump is repealing a controversial executive order drafted by former President Obama that was meant to protect the Great Lakes and the oceans bordering the United States.

In his own executive order signed late Tuesday, Trump put a new emphasis on industries that use the oceans, particularly oil and natural gas drilling, while also mentioning environmental stewardship.

The order encourages more drilling and other industrial uses of the oceans and Great Lakes.

The order stands in contrast to Obama's policy, which focused heavily on conservation and climate change. His policy was written in 2010, shortly after the deadly BP Deepwater Horizon offshore drilling explosion and 87-day oil spill. [more]

  6. Oxygen gas filaments identified as the universe's missing matter

Until now, scientists had only found roughly two-thirds of the cosmos' ordinary matter. But astronomers have solved the so-called "missing baryon problem," locating the last reservoir of missing ordinary matter.

Scientists found the missing matter in the form of oxygen gas. The gas filaments were found in intergalactic space, registering temperatures of around 1 million degrees Celsius.

One question the new research fails to answer is how the webs of oxygen ended up so far away from the rest of universe's ordinary matter. It's a question scientists hope to answer in the future.

"How does it get from the stars and the galaxies all the way out here into intergalactic space?" said Charles Danforth, a research associate at Colorado. "There's some sort of ecology going on between the two regions, and the details of that are poorly understood." [more]

33 children released from hospital after getting sick at 4-H camp in Florida

Several children at a summer camp in Highlands County have been released from the hospital after mysteriously falling ill and being examined by doctors.

None of the 33 kids attending the Clover Leaf 4-H camp were seriously sick enough to require additional medical attention, aside from being hospitalized, according to county fire rescue. Three adults who also fell ill are under the same condition.

Highlands County Fire and EMS said the victims suffered a range of symptoms from fever to nausea and vomiting.

The medical mystery began Wednesday with kids getting sick. But emergency crews realized how bad it became among the group when a child passed out Thursday.

The biggest question right now, figuring out what caused this, still is unknown. [more; I wonder if there's a stream or lake around, being a summer camp an' all]

  8. In regards to the GOP plan to cut Medicare and Medicaid to balance the budget. While the tax cuts do funnel money to the rich, you never hear anyone talking about cutting funding for bombs or the military, in fact Trump increased the Pentagon's budget. The United States creates its own money and money is created before it is spent. The money in circulation is actually the deficit. A sovereign currency creator cannot go bankrupt and is only restrained by resources. Inflation can become a problem, but taxes effectively destroy money, and our tax system incentivizes behaviors. So we've been fed a line of bullshit regarding the function of money and budget deficits. I'm all for less bombs and less money spent on the military.
