Event Update For 2017-08-29

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

http://www.topix.com/city/huntington-beach-ca/2017/08/whata-s-that-smell-pungent-odor-lingers-over-long-beach-seal-beach-for-days

Quote: "South Coast Air Quality Management authorities are investigating after residents in coastal cities, from Long Beach to Huntington Beach, reported strong sulfuric odors for the past three days. Mary Beth McDade reports for the KTLA 5 News at 10 on August 30, 2017."

Note: Probably just some poison gas blowing in off the ocean. Nothing to worry about, unless you're one of those wanna-stay-alive kind of people...

2017-08-29 - Wastewater station spewing hydrogen sulfide in coastal Port Adelaide (Australia):
http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/messenger/west-beaches/state-government-vows-to-fix-west-lakes-rotten-egg-stench/news-story/1301c44cb857afbbab9cb63221f1d30c

Quote: "Actionis being taken to control a rotten egg smell coming from the Port Adelaide wastewater pump station in West Lakes – just weeks after protestors kicked up a stink about the stench."

Quote: "It comes after the Portside Weekly last month revealed that the smell was so intense, residents were waking up in the mornings with headaches from being exposed to it."

Quote: "Peter Laznicka said he and wife Sarka had been 'overwhelmed by hydrogen sulphide' – the gas that smells like rotten eggs and is released during the plants treatment works."

Quote: "The new fixtures – which do not have a budget – are expected to be in place by July next year."

Note: Excellent, so people in the area will only have to be poisoned by lowish levels of deadly hydrogen sulfide for another eleven months. Nobody knows what that does to a person, but I guarantee it's not good. I wouldn't be surprised if the number of people in that area dropping dead from heart attacks or 'Sudden Adult Death Syndrome' doesn't increase markedly in the next months...

http://www.upi.com/Science_News/2017/08/29/Birds-use-their-sense-of-smell-for-long-distance-migration/9331504021397/

Quote: "Now, researchers from the universities of Oxford, Barcelona and Pisa have shown in a new experiment that olfaction – or sense of smell – is almost certainly a key factor in long-distance oceanic navigation, eliminating previous misgivings about this hypothesis."

Note: Lots of birds have been getting lost and ending up in unusual places in recent years too. Hydrogen sulfide causes 'olfactory fatigue', so perhaps some of these birds are flying through clouds of gas from time to time, and the birds that aren't outright killed from the gas may have olfactory problems which could result in them getting lost and ending up in weird places...

  1. Wow. It appears that Harvey may be the "straw" the breaks the entire U.S. economy - between the local damage and the economic and environmental ripple effects, we're already being hit with higher gas prices (though crude prices are dropping, globally), food prices (independently before, and now Harvey adds to shortages via collateral damage) and cotton is having big problems. Meanwhile the weather has ramped up all over the globe with flooding, drought caused massive fires and gases spewing from coasts, lakes, and streams (as Jonny assessed years ago - now it's OBVIOUS). More and more people are waking up to the realization that the situation is DIRE, and that "this way of life" will be gone forever in our lifetimes (actually, our LIFETIMES are going away forever too - and sooner than expected)!

Guy McPherson, it turns out, is the subject of a covert "take-down" from Australia (whose national security team works hand in hand with the CIA) in a supposed "sexting" scandal.

The whole pack of cards is coming down more quickly than anyone might have imagined.
The NZ govt is suppressing a report that will be based on conservative IPPC reports.
We have (and this is conjecture - I have no direct proof apart a comment by a reliable person) that the Australian govt is trying to bring down Guy McPherson before he tours Australia with a sting involving a young wiman from W. Australia.
We have what is going down in Houston and elsewhere along with rumours that Soros is flicking off US assets.
The United States is more at less at war with itself where you can come under attack for reaching rational conclusions that don't go along with their rosy agenda.
And don't forget about the Arctic!
PS. Apart from neglecting to mention abrupt climate change every word here of James Howard Kunstler rings true.
Factor in what we know about abrupt climate change and things are much worse.
When the Butterfly Flaps Its Wings
    [begins]

It remains to be seen what the impact will be from Mother Nature putting the nation’s fourth largest city out-of-business. And for how long? It’s possible that Houston will never entirely recover from Hurricane Harvey. The event may exceed the physical damage that Hurricane Katrina did to New Orleans. It may bankrupt large insurance companies and dramatically raise the risk of doing business anywhere along the Gulf and Atlantic coasts of the USA — or at least erase the perceived guarantee that losses are recoverable. It may even turn out to be the black swan that reveals the hyper-fragility of a US-driven financial system. [more]

NZ government withholds conservative climate change report

This is part of a worldwide effort to pull the world over our eyes and suppress [sic] the true state of the planet that starts, but does not stop with Donald Trump.
This report that has been suppressed is very likely to be based on the very conservative conclusions of the IPCC.

No wonder that we have efforts of governments and security services (the most likely of which is likely to be Australia) to ensure that Guy McPherson's message does not make it to the wider public.

    http://robinwestenra.blogspot.com/2017/08/a-slow-down-in-arctic-melt-but.html

I read somewhere in the comments on the Arctic sea ice blog forum that the ice will not melt so quickly if it is just sitting in its own melt water.

There is no doubt, due to weather conditions the melt has slowed down despite warm water conditions but it is anyone's bet as to what will happen next.

"Thus Atlantic low pressure system is similar to last year's Fall and December cyclones. This could be the start of a very mild Fall and winter season in the Arctic"

"Cold spikes like the current one are not uncommon. The temperature will reach peak cold soon and then shoot back up."

Compliments of technology, the Idiocracy has knowledge that's a mile wide and an inch deep. Trusting the usual idiots is not going to work...

Denial pervades every aspect of our society from the environment, the economy, to health and all areas in between. Financialization has systematically destroyed the economy. CHS asks the relevant question, why have wages lost ground for the past several decades? The real answer, not the one he provides, is because financialization requires ever-higher returns on capital. If profits are not rising then stock prices don't move higher. Merely maintaining an asinine level of income means nothing to the stock market, growth is the only factor that moves prices. Without growth the P/E multiple expands since all future income at the current level is already "priced in". Only growth in "E" will enable growth in "P". The drop in wages relative to GDP is directly offset by an increase in corporate profits. [more]

Paulides also takes a close look at cases in which the hunter disappears in the late afternoon or early evening. According to Paulides, the predominant time that disappearances occur is just before it gets dark.
