Event Update For 2017-05-17

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

  1. I now have first hand experience of how drivers slump over dead while driving, 'cause I came really close yesterday morning while driving to an appointment in Pottstown, up Rt. 100 about 45 min. from my house. Driving along for about half an hour, noticed some line work happening on the other side of the road while going down a slight hill. Did you ever get so high that you hear a loud buzzing and everything gets fuzzy, your vision blurs and you don't know what's going on? Well, that's what happened. My car windows were down, since it was getting warm (and my goddamn a/c STILL doesn't work after putting like $600 into it last fall - it wouldn't shut off then; now it won't cool!). I stayed calm and there wasn't much traffic so I didn't have to worry about hitting anyone in front of me (and no one was behind me). It passed after about 15 seconds. I yelled out loud "What the FUCK was THAT all about!" and continued to my appointment. Nothing else happened. In a "severe" case, I guess you'd just pass out or DIE and crash. Otherwise, i'm in perfect health - seriously - no problems whatsoever, no pain, no "condition" or medication, I don't even have a fucking COLD! So what is it? Brain aneurysm? Nah - that would have been fatal. Pass out for no reason at all while no even exerting myself? i'm not stressed in the least - because I've already completely accepted the fact that i'm gonna die pretty soon (relatively speaking). In fact, I was thinking for a split second - is this how it ends? - while it was happening. It gets your attention!

Now, see - if I was transporting RADIOACTIVE waste, I might feel sick (like the trucker in the story above) too. I mean, ca-mon - that shit'll KILL ya just being anywhere near it!

Geez there's a lot of people dropping dead and having 'medical episodes' (or 'conditions') lately. Also there's a ton of strange accidents, buildings erupting into flames, and boats too now (not to mention the ever-popular buses).

That car fire in Hull - where it was found to be in the door and self-extinguished. What else would cause that but FLAMMABLE GAS permeating up (or down) to the electric window or door lock connection and sparking? Only this time there wasn't enough volume or concentration to cause the whole car to burn (or being enclosed like that, it smothered out).

    Health update

This is to let my readers know that I am in hospital after severe abdominal pains. Turns out that I have cholecystitis (inflamed gallbladder) with gallstones, some of which are probably obstructing my biliary duct. I am on antibiotics and more medications (including Tor [for] nausea) than I've ever taken in my life.  They are talking of a procedure to remove the gallbladder - a bit like an endoscope, except a lot more dangerous. There is even a one-in-thousand chance that could be fatal so I am weighing up my options. There is a Lo more using on in my body than just this. [probable translation: "There's a lot more going on in my body than just this."]

It means that I may be out of action for a while, although I am hoping not.

    Best wishes to all,

No escaping ocean plastic: 37 million bits of litter on one of world’s remotest islands

A tiny, uninhabited piece of land in the South Pacific Ocean, called Henderson Island, is considered one of the most remote islands in the world. But now, researchers say it has earned a much more worrisome new title: the world's most polluted island. [more]

EPA asked the public which regulations to gut — and got an earful about leaving them alone

Last month, the Environmental Protection Agency put out a call for comments about what regulations are in need of repeal, replacement or modification. The effort stemmed from an executive order issued by President Trump earlier this year instructing agencies to reexamine regulations that “eliminate jobs, or inhibit job creation” and/or “impose costs that exceed benefits.”
More than 55,100 responses rolled in by the time the comment period closed on Monday — but they were full of Americans sharing their experiences of growing up with dirty air and water, and with pleas for the agency not to undo safeguards that could return the country to more a more polluted era. 3. Yikes, glad that didn't turn out as bad as it could have! That's basically what happened to me a few years ago, but I wasn't driving. I suddenly started feeling dizzy, like I was about to lose consciousness. I got up from my chair, took two steps and lunged at my bed and passed out as I hit the bed, then recovered less than a minute later. 'What the hell?!' was what I thought too.

  4. Well, see - now THAT would have been TRAGIC, no JJFH! REAL glad you recovered. Nobody's gonna miss me (ok, a couple people) when it's my turn to split Earth for whatever comes next.

West Coast Seismic Alert: 2 Alaskan Volcanoes Erupt As Earthquake Swarms At Mount St. Helens Raise Concerns

[I love it when an ECONOMIST notices environmental stuff]

Mount St. Helens, Mount Rainier and Mount Hood are all major volcanoes that lie along the infamous “Ring of Fire” that runs down the west coast of the United States, and all of the seismic activity that has been taking place in the region has many concerned about what may happen next.  Earlier this month, I wrote about how 45 earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 or greater hit Alaska in just one 24 hour period.  This week, it is volcanic activity that is raising concerns.  The earthquake swarms at Mount St. Helens are making headlines all over the globe, and on Tuesday two major volcanoes in Alaska suddenly erupted on the exact same day…

Overall, 39 volcanoes around the world are either erupting right now or have recently erupted according to Volcano Discovery. [more]

Trump's Response To Disaster Relief Raises Alarms

Last week, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper (D) heard back from President Trump on his request for $929 million in aid to help with unmet hurricane [Matthew] recovery costs. Cooper sought funding mainly through the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant program.

Cooper expressed “shock and disappointment’’ over the federal response.

The Trump administration had denied more than 99 percent of the aid Cooper sought, providing the state a mere $6.1 million. The governor, working with his state’s congressional delegation ― including Republican Sen. Thom Tillis ― had estimated nearly $700 million needed to meet housing needs, more than $170 million to assist farmers, repair public facilities and provide health services to storm survivors, and $39 million to help close to 700 small businesses.

under Trump’s budget blueprint, funding for long-term disaster relief programs would be slashed. HUD, which steps in after the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help with long-term rebuilding, would see its funding cut by $6.2 billion, a 13 percent decrease. The HUD block grant program through which Cooper had requested much of his desired funding would have its $3 billion budget eliminated entirely.[more]

    What are MTHFR mutations?

[I know what it LOOKS like it could stand for - but no, it's] Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) is a gene that is responsible for producing an enzyme that converts folic acid to methylfolate, a bioavailable form of vitamin B9. Nutrient deficiencies of Vitamin B6, B12, and folate increase homocysteine levels which causes inflammation in the body. The ability of this gene to turn this switch on or off is crucial for the production of glutathione, the body's most important antioxidant. [more]
