Quote: "Murres occasionally land in fresh water, Piatt said. 'You figure it's a misguided individual. To have 6,000, 8,000 birds in the lake is pretty mind-blowing, really,' he said. 'I've never heard of any such a thing anywhere in the world.'"

2016-03-17 - Huge number of fish wash ashore dead in coastal Rayong (Thailand):

The three birds were among a group of eagles found disoriented in a farm field in the Piney Neck area of Sussex County, about a mile away from where the first dead eagle was discovered."

Quote: "Thirteen bald eagles were found dead Feb. 20 on a farm near Federalsburg by someone looking for shed deer antlers. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services is still investigating, but has determined that the eagles did not die from natural causes. The reward is up to $25,000 for anyone who can lead to the person or persons responsible in the Federalsburg case."

Note: Hydrogen sulfide, being neurotoxic, can cause disorientation, hallucinations, etc. And since the other 13 bald eagles, also found dead near the coast with no signs of injury, were also very likely poisoned by hydrogen sulfide, I doubt anyone's gonna be collecting any reward money...

Quote: "The die-off is being attributed to three main causes: lethal levels of hydrogen sulfide, warm water and low levels of oxygen, according to Coldwater Hatchery Supervisor James Civiello."

Note: Those three things all go together. Warm water holds less oxygen, and the ancient anaerobic bacteria and archaea that produce hydrogen sulfide love warmth and do not like oxygen. The mortality event at this lake is a microcosm of what's happening all around the world now...

2016-03-21 - Another bald eagle found dead near Dagsboro (Delaware), others acting erratically:

In some places, the normally idyllic waterways are being replaced with thousands of rotting fish."

Quote: "'We’re seeing stingrays, horseshoe crabs, sheepshead, the mullet, the flounder—everything is being impacted by what’s going on here in the lagoon,' Michelle Spahn, a waterway tour operator in the region told WFTV9."

2016-03-28 - Thousands of fish found dead in the Macoya River on the island of Trinidad:

2016-03-28 - 19 dolphins wash up dead on Black Sea coast in Georgia:

2016-03-29 - Dozens of birds found dead along I-5 near Redding (California):

Quote: "He said the bird deaths raise many questions. The birds that weren't in the roadway didn't seem to show signs of trauma from crashing into vehicles or being struck. And if they were killed by disease or poison, he wondered why they would all be together. 'It's very unusual,' Wiegand said. 'It's very bizarre.'"

Note: Rotten egg odor just rolled in off the ocean and hit a big swath of Southern California, mentioned in the 2016-03-17 update. The clouds of poisonous hydrogen sulfide gas blowing in off the oceans won't always be that large though, and sometimes they'll be more concentrated too, like flock-killing size, and birds are vulnerable to poison gases due to rapid respiration and low body mass, which is why they used canaries in coal mines. Could hardly be much simpler than that. One of the first signs that this had begun was when birds started mysteriously disappearing between Britain and Scotland, the so-called 'Birdmuda Triangle', mentioned in the 2012-08-29 update. So this isn't that bizarre - poison gas is blowing in off the ocean and killing animals and people, could hardly be any simpler...
