Event Update For 2015-09-27

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

  1. Nice job on this one too Jonny!

The astroturf caught fire because a blazing ember from the pyrotechnics (during the intro) landed on it. Still, they've been doing this for how long? And this is the first such incident? Something fishy there. i guess the stuff is flammable - which means they should discontinue the pregame fireworks.

Ohio burnin' up on this day! [and Britain, as usual]

Also a bad day for barns! Dang!

Here's a few to start today:

3.9 magnitude earthquake hits Redwood Valley in Northern California

Ubinas volcano in Peru erupts again

    Earthquake measuring 5.4 shakes Argentina

A major earthquake was reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) on Sept. 28, 2015, following a series of tremors in South America. Today's seismic activity so far has produced a 5.4 magnitude earthquake, 32 miles northwest of San Antonio de Los Cobres, Argentina. During the last 10 days, the adjoining countries of Argentina and Chile have experienced tremors measuring between 5.4 and 6.6 on the Richter Scale. Also, this morning, Honduras, which is approximately 3900 miles north of Argentina experienced 5.1 magnitude tremor, only 30 minutes earlier.

The seismic activity occurred on the Nazca plate region, which includes the offshore plate that has been jolting Chile's coastal city, Coquimbo, for the past several weeks.

[looks like the start of a busy day Jonny]

  2. Yeah, I know about the ember, but this may be one of those things where there's more than one factor at play. Like that rotten egg odor I've been smelling off-and-on around here contaminating that turf, so when the ember DID hit it, it burned more than ever before.

Nothing says that only one thing can be a factor. In an extreme example, let's say a big cloud of methane descends out of the sky in Manhattan as a man lights a cigarette. Boom, Manhattan destroyed. Story might read: 'Man lights cigarette, explosion destroys Manhattan!' Well, yeah, sort of, but that's not quite the whole story. Heh.

  3. No, i totally get it and agree that the H2S and/or CH4 IS a significant factor - that's why i said: how many times have they done this? See, it's starting to become a problem because the methane is constantly releasing out of the oceans, lakes, peat bogs, etc and is blowing around in the atmosphere at ever increasing concentrations.

Spain registers first snowfall of season high in the Sierra Nevada

[i heard on the news last night that Alaska had a > 6" snow too - earlier and more than ever before for first snowfall]

'Super typhoon' Dujuan, which has been sweeping across northern Taiwan, has killed two people and displaced 12,000, while also cutting electricity to about half a million Taiwanese. More than 300 people have been injured.

Keep up the super work Jonny!

  4. I'm curious about what happens to Europe this winter. If that oceanic conveyor belt has stalled (causing that 'cold blob' of water between North America and Europe) then the parts of Europe that are in Siberian latitudes but which normally have temperate weather because of the heat from that conveyor belt will start having more Siberia-like winters, and nobody living in those areas is really prepared for that. Maybe it won't be that bad this year. I'd be expecting the worst if I lived in those areas though, just in case.
