Event Update For 2015-09-12

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2015-09-12 - New methane seep discovered on the ocean floor near San Diego (California):

Quote: "Researchers at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego have released details of a deep-sea site roughly 48 kilometers (30 miles) west of Del Mar (just north of San Diego, Calif.) where methane is seeping out of the seafloor, the first such finding in the region."

Note: I'm sure there are many more methane seeps too, still undiscovered, and yet more methane seeps will be forming as that warm water 'blob' off the West Coast destabilizes methane clathrates all along the North American coast. And once that methane reaches the air, where's it going to go? Winds tend to blow west-to-east because of the rotation of the Earth, so the methane will blow onto California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and western Canada, and nobody will smell it because methane is odorless. Then some of it will adsorb onto matter. Then when fires break out, they will burn harder, faster and hotter than normal. Say, which states are going up in flames right now? Alaska, California, Oregon and Washington...

2015-09-12 - Restaurant explodes and collapses in Petlawad, Madhya Pradesh (India), at least 89 killed:

Note: A bit hard to believe this was a gas cylinder explosion, seeing as LPG and natgas and such have an odorant added (which smells like 'rotten eggs'), to alert people of the danger, so if that was the cause then people in that restaurant would have smelled it big-time if there was THAT much gas present. It's more likely this was caused by methane, which is odorless. And what WERE the methane levels in the air, and was any detected on/in any of the objects nearby? Ah, nobody is bothering to check. Once enough people get splattered all over the landscape by explosions then maybe they'll start checking such things out a little more carefully...

Quote: "Media reports indicate that there may have been an explosion inside containers carrying sodium hydroxide that sent flames and smoke billowing up from the cargo area."

Note: Sodium hydroxide is a strong base which has a flammability index of 0, the same as water - in other words, it's completely non-flammable. However, it is reactive with hydrogen sulfide. Not explosively reactive like nitric acid, but the reaction does generate heat, and if any methane or hydrogen sulfide had contaminated matter or air in the area then that reaction could easily ignite the methane and/or hydrogen sulfide and THAT could cause an explosion and/or fire. This is the 814th boat or ship to burn/explode in 2015...

2015-09-12 - Tractor trailer bursts into flame on I-20 in Knoxville (Tennessee):

Quote: "Ross said he heard a boom, the truck sped up, and he was no longer able to control it. Ross said he managed to get it stopped on the ramp, but could not get the engine to shut off. He smelled smoke and called firefighters. But, according to Ross, it took firefighters over a half hour to reach, and during that time the engine caught fire and the flames spread throughout the cab."

Note: I mentioned this a while ago, but scientists recently found out that hydrogen sulfide is the best superconductor known to mankind, at very high pressure and at -70C or lower temps. I'm in no way saying that hydrogen sulfide will turn the atmosphere into a gigantic superconductor, but it is no stretch to think that as the atmosphere gets increasingly contaminated by hydrogen sulfide this will affect the electrical conductivity of the atmosphere and possibly the ground too, making lightning strikes more common and more dangerous. I highly suspect that we're seeing that effect now and if so then the lightning strike problem is certain to get worse as time goes on...

"How did they get here, that's the real concern," he said.

  5. My brother an I were sitting outside this evening and noticed a scent that was at times like ether and otherwise hard to describe other than like some sort of potentially flammable substance fumes. Does anything in your hypothesis explain this? We found nothing to explain it in the surrounding area.

    1. It could. See, the problem is that peoples' brains haven't had to deal with hydrogen sulfide, at least not at concentrations above the trivial, where it's 'rotten egg' odor. So when people smell it at medium+ concentrations, it can smell different to different people - some say it's like licorice, some say it's like flowers, some say it's sickly sweet, some say it's just 'chemically', which could mean pretty much anything.

For me, the first time I smelled it at medium+ concentration it was more 'flowery' - that was when a guy was pumping out a porta-potty and had a sewer manhole open. The second time I smelled it at that concentration - just walking down the street in the wee hours - it was between flowery and sickly sweet.

Maybe your brain is wired so that for you it's more 'chemically' or 'ethery'. Everyone's going to be a little different with how they describe the smell at medium+ concentrations.

Of course it could have been something else entirely that you smelled too. Nowadays, it's probably best to treat unknown smells as a potential threat and do what you can to avoid them. Like what? Yeah, I know, it's not always that easy. Stay inside, but not in the basement? Run some ozone generators? Hard to avoid the freakin' atmosphere.

  6. Thanks, yes, it might be freon leaking from someone's air-conditioning unit, the internet seemed to suggest. Guess we shall see what comes of it!
