Event Update For 2014-05-29

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2014-05-29 - Tanker ship 'Shoko Maru' destroyed by explosion and fire, burns and sinks, near Himeji (Japan), 1 missing, 4 injured:

Quote: "An explosion on an oil tanker off the Japanese coast set off a huge fire Thursday and left the vessel's captain missing. Ships and aircraft battled the blaze on the Shoko Maru, a 998-ton tanker anchored about 5 kilometers (3 miles) off the port of Himeji in western Japan, the coast guard said. Rescuers have recovered seven members of the eight-person crew, the coast guard said, but the ship's 64-year-old captain is still missing."

Quote: "Seven people were rescued, four having suffered severe burns, the public broadcaster NHK reported."

Note: Not looking too good for the shipping industry. But then the same could be said of the plane industry and the trucking industry too...

2014-05-29 - Pallets and cardboard burst into flame in the wee hours in separate events in Vernon (Canada):

Quote: "So far, targets have been vacant buildings, a porta-potty, pallets, a boat, vehicles and dumpsters."

Note: Nobody's ever seen anyone near these fires, there's no motive, there's no surveillance footage, there's no forensic evidence, there is absolutely nothing to suggest a human being started any of these fires. These fires are mostly (if not entirely) occurring during the wee hours, which is when the atmosphere cools and contracts, which will push any hydrogen sulfide or methane in the air above closer to the ground, making fires, explosions and people and animals sickening and/or dying more common during that time...

Florida is downwind of the Gulf of Mexico, North America's sewer. Quote: "Pimm's study focused on the rate, not the number, of species disappearing from Earth. It calculated a 'death rate' of how many species become extinct each year out of 1 million species. In 1995, Pimm found that the pre-human rate of extinctions on Earth was about 1. But taking into account new research, Pimm and his colleagues refined that background rate to about 0.1. Now, that death rate is about 100 to 1,000, Pimm said."

Note: Woohoo, we're gonna get high score! Er, waitasec...

  1. Good job Jonny!

Seems as if the Canadian fire marshals are as clueless as those here on figuring out how dumpsters, cardboard and pallets can just spontaneously combust (not to mention all manner of vehicles and even garbage)!

I was putting pins on a map of Florida for every sinkhole incident you listed and now my map has holes in it - like a two dimensional sinkhole. (wait, what?)

The long list of species dying that you chronicle here has lead up to the last story involving the rate of species extinction. As Guy McPherson says, sooner or later on of those species will be us.

Already climate change caused crop losses are mounting and it's barely spring!

India is having big problems too, in that their expected monsoon has stalled out before reaching them:

Monsoon Disrupted By El Nino + Climate Change as India Suffers Deaths, Crop Losses from Extreme Heat.

  2. It's as though were under Attack! Like something is cleaning the slate. Just saw a Hugh volcano eruption 6 miles high in Indonesia. No wonder our weather sucks globablly. Do the sinkholes play a role in the uptick of methane release? Again it's as though we're being slowly attacked. Guess it's better than a single quick extintion event. Or is it?
