Event Update For 2014-05-20

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2014-05-20 - Mysterious kidney affliction hits sugarcane workers in Nicaragua:

Quote: "The painful disease that affects the kidneys has killed at least 20,000 people over the past decade throughout Central America."

Quote: "Second, Brooks pointed out that CDK is a global health issue. There are at least two other areas that have been identified with epidemics that appear very similar: Sri Lanka and the northeastern coast of India."

Note: This is very likely caused by chronic low-level exposure to hydrogen sulfide blowing in off the oceans. Notice where all the people are sickening: along the coasts in Central America, on the island of Sri Lanka, and on the coast in India. I mentioned the mysterious kidney problems in Sri Lanka in the 2014-03-05 update. Eventually we may all end up coughing up blood and dying from renal failure, unless we drop dead or burn to death or whatever first. From the full hypothesis: "Renal problems - e.g. problems with kidneys - will escalate, as is already happening with crop workers on the western coast of Central America."

Note: Eighty thousand pallets just went up in flames at a pallet business in Haughton (Louisiana), mentioned in the 2014-05-18 update. From the full hypothesis: "Wood-related fires will escalate, including fires at pallet companies, wood-carving businesses, furniture businesses, door companies, cabinet companies, etc."

Note: Sounds like the people near there might just wanna get used to breathing toxic landfill smoke...

2014-05-20 - Two cars go up in flames at 1 AM while parked at auto shop in Birmingham (Alabama):

Quote: "Investigators says the cause of the fires appears to be arson. They say both cars had to be set on fire separately."

Note: A cloud of hydrogen sulfide, possibly mixed with methane, blowing by and hitting both vehicles might ignite them both separately. Sounds like the only 'evidence' of arson is simply that one car didn't ignite the other, which isn't evidence of arson at all, not these days. The wee hours are when the atmosphere cools and contracts, which will push any hydrogen sulfide or methane in the air above closer to the ground, making fires, explosions and people and animals sickening and/or dying more common during those hours...

2014-05-20 - Car bursts into flame and explodes while parked in storage unit in Vigo County (Indiana):

Fire officials said crews have made good progress building a fire line between the blaze and the Cook Inlet community. The majority of Tyonek’s roughly 150 residents evacuated Monday."

Quote: "Despite their efforts, though, forestry officials said the fire burned nearly seven miles long and about a mile wide Monday evening. At that time, fire crews estimated the blaze was three miles from Tustemena Lake."

Note: Gettin' pretty obvious here. Look at the above five fires: on an island, on the coast, in a canyon with a creek, near a river on the coast, and near a lake, all places where a heavier-than-air gas like hydrogen sulfide will tend to accumulate, absorbing into absorbent materials until fire erupts. Hard to blame all these right-by-water fires on drought...

  1. Hey Jonny, another exciting and "fun-packed" report here (whew)!

It seems to be getting worse faster (if that's even possible). The mainstream media is at least beginning to inform about climate change - usually by using it to indicate that prices are rising on a host of food (and will continue to do so). Next thing you know they'll be shortages of really important commodities like fruit and nuts, vegetables and grains and then the riots start. Then comes supposed martial law, which will only hold up as long as the police and military don't realize they're in the same sinking boat. It won't last long and chaos will reign after the rule of law (fickle as it is) evaporates with no enforcement to keep it up. Then comes the heat - too much to handle. [and then the over 400 nuclear plants all melt down]

    Wet-bulb temperature and climate change

Talks about the right things – wet-bulb temperature – but goes on to place it in the wrong century!

Future Temperatures Could Exceed Human Livability

All the focus on reducing climate change is based on what will happen this century, but what happens the century after if we fail?

    1. I figure we better figure out a way to survive flammable poison gas before we worry about how hot it's gonna get. If you can't survive the former then the latter becomes moot.

Personally, I think we're done on the surface of this planet and the best thing we could do is accept that and start working on Plan B, and allocate whatever new 'habitat spots' we can build fairly, then work together. If we did that then we could build MORE habitat spots and everyone's chances of making it through to the other side would increase. (Maybe not by a lot, but better odds is still better than worse odds.)

Fight the war for survival in the Plan A world, build out the Plan B world as quickly as possible, to broaden the bottleneck pipeline, and funnel people from Plan A to Plan B as fast as is sustainably possible. (No point in sending 1000 people somewhere if there's no food for them. We've got that 'feature' right here in Plan A.)

As people arrive on the Plan B side, they get to work building out more industry, living quarters, energy production, etc, to funnel yet more Plan A people through.

And so on. What's the alternative? Twiddle our thumbs and die? I like my plan better than that.

  2. I wish your chance had a shot at happening Jonny, 'cause nothing but business as usual is happening as far as I can see. We're killing ourselves off by living this way (industrial civilization) and nobody wants to go back to the old ways of doing things (if that's even possible now). I like your plan better too, but nobody's seriously working on it.

    1. I guess the optimist in me hasn't quite keeled over dead yet. It's way too late to go back to the Amish way of life though. I wish that were possible!

  3. shoot, I forgot the link for the last post:

House Science Committee Hard At Work: More Hearings On Aliens Than Climate Change

This is absolutely frightening. Instead of focusing on climate change in this session of Congress, House committees tasked with covering U.S. energy and science have held a total of seven hearings to discuss climate change. In contrast, the two chambers have held a combined 19 hearings about space exploration in that same time period. What’s interesting is that while Republicans believe human-caused climate change is simply a liberal lie, they also have opted to focus on cuts to NASA and science funding.

The House Science, Space, and Technology Committee—led by Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, since 2013—has held 15 hearings on space exploration alone, at least three of which have involved the search for extraterrestrial life. By comparison, Smith’s committee has held just two hearings devoted to climate change.

The Democrat-controlled Senate doesn’t have a much better record. The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee has held three hearings this session on climate change, while the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee has not had a hearing devoted to the topic since 2012. The Senate Commerce Science and Space Subcommittee has had one hearing about climate change and four about space.

On the House side, the House Energy and Commerce Committee hosted one solitary hearing about climate change, and the House Natural Resources Committee has not had a hearing on climate change in the 113th Congress.

Committee Chairman Lamar Smith, who refuses to acknowledge that climate change is caused in part by humans, took the issue very seriously, pressing the panelists on how likely it is that there’s intelligent life on other planets. He said he was pleased with their response.
