Event Update For 2018-03-25

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

  1. Good morning everyone.

India has to be the strangest place on the planet. Where else can a car packed with 10 people (were they all kids?) crash into a WELL? Meanwhile, every day people go in rivers there to bathe and cool off and DIE! Every effing day! You'd think they would learn after YEARS of this shit, but NO - every day!

Add "living indoors" to the growing list of problems humanity faces now. Apartments, homes, barns, commercial buildings, malls - everything is burning randomly now, if it isn't exploding first.

  2. Do you really want to go to war against a fully united nuclear Russia?
What happened to the West I was born in?!

The truth is that the situation today is infinitely worse than the Cuban missile crisis. First, during the Cuban missile crisis there were rational people on both side. Today there is NOT ONE SINGLE RATIONAL PERSON LEFT IN A POSITION OF POWER IN THE USA. Not ONE! Second, during the Cuban missile crisis all the new was reporting on was the crisis, the entire planet felt like we were standing at the edge of the abyss.

Today nobody seems to be aware that we are about to go to war, possibly a thermonuclear war, where casualties will be counted in the hundreds of millions.

Gulf of Mexico 'dead zone' will persist for decades

The annual “dead zone” in the Gulf of Mexico, which last year was the size of New Jersey, will continue for several decades, a new study said.

A dead zone occurs at the bottom of a body of water when there isn't enough oxygen in the water to support marine life. Also known as hypoxia, it's created by nutrient runoff, mostly from over-application of fertilizer on agricultural fields during the spring.

Nutrients such as nitrogen flow from North America's corn belt through streams and rivers before ending up in the Gulf.

The nitrogen can spur the growth of algae, and when the algae die, their decay consumes oxygen faster than it can be brought down from the surface, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said. As a result, fish, shrimp and crabs can suffocate. [more; why does that sound so familiar . ..]

The Paris Climate Accords Are Looking More and More Like Fantasy

[I]n 2014, the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change presented more than 100 modeled scenarios that would keep global temperatures below two degrees of warming. Nearly all of them relied on negative emissions. These tools come in two forms: technologies that would suck carbon out of the air (called CCS, for carbon capture and storage) and new approaches to forestry and agriculture that would do the same, in a slightly more old-fashioned way (bioenergy carbon capture and storage, or BECCS).
According to these recent papers, both are something close to fantasy: at best, uneconomical and entirely untested at scale, and, at worst, wholly inadequate to the job being asked of them.

Supervolcano in Utah: The eruption of 20 ancient “supervolcanoes” discovered near the Utah-Nevada was 5,000 times larger than the 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption

For 30 years, BYU geologists have searched for the volcano that produced thousands of cubic kilometers of pyroclastic flow on the Utah-Nevada border. Piecing together the geologic evidence from five different mountain ranges across hundreds of miles, they report the discovery of a massive 30-million-year-old supervolcano in Utah. The ancient caldera, which would have been several miles deep, is no longer visible as it has eroded and filled with pyroclastic flow many years ago. The original Wah Wah Springs pyroclastic deposit associated with this caldera covered an area of ~12,000 square miles and had a volume of 5,900 cubic kilometers or ~1,400 cubic miles (5,000 times the size of the Mount St. Helens eruption that emitted just one cubic kilometer of material). The researchers report that this is one of the largest documented supervolcanoes worldwide. [more]

China’s doomed space station Tiangong-1 will return to Earth as a massive fireball between March 30th and April 2nd but nobody knows where!
