Event Update For 2016-12-14

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

  1. High today won't make it out of the twenties, with wind chill making it feel like single digits. Wintry mix moves in tonight into tomorrow sometime, but then it warms up to mid-50's (now it's 'maybe' 60) for Sunday, but then it drops back to the 40's for next week. That's what they're saying now.

So we finally reached the stage where paper towels in plastic dispensers (with a few metal springs for dispenser) can and do spontaneously combust. Like the sand dune fire a while back, this one hit me hard (even without your explanation).
So my piles of old tests, books, printouts from the computer, and recyclables are now dangerous! Oh, and so are the two cars - one in the garage and one right outside the house . . .
Shit, even the damn bicycle I rarely ride is prolly dangerous na, not to mention the lawn tractor, chainsaw and cans of gas (and gas/oil mix) I got laying around in ma shed.

Let's see if anything happened overnight or this morning.

Giant 'rivers in the sky' could cause extinction-level floods

Atmospheric rivers have claimed their first victims.

Atmospheric rivers - narrow corridors of concentrated moisture suspended in the atmosphere - were responsible for the mysterious mass die-off of wild Olympia oysters in San Francisco Bay in 2011, scientists have found.

This is the first documented case of these 'rivers in the sky' - which can hold 15 times more water than the Mississippi River - directly harming an entire population, and they're expected to increase in frequency, intensity, and unpredictability as the global climate warms.

"Extreme events are predicted to be more prevalent under climate change," the University of California, Davis team reports. [more]
