Event Update For 2015-08-12

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2015-08-12 - Massive deadly explosions destroy warehouse at 11:30 PM in coastal Tianjin (China), 50+ killed, 700+ injured:

Quote: "At least 50 people have been killed and 701 injured after two explosions at a warehouse containing large quantities of dangerous chemicals in the port city of Tianjin. Of those wounded 71 are said to be suffering severe injuries."

Quote: "The explosions were so massive they could be seen from space, according to satellite photos released by the Japan meteorological agency. The force of the blast also prompted alarm at China’s National Earthquake Network."

Quote: "Locals reported shockwaves that shattered glass more than two kilometres away, while the blast itself was seen by satellites from space. Even the US Geological Survey registered the event as seismic."

Quote: "Several buildings near the site collapsed, dozens of automobiles were reduced to burned-out husks, and nearby residents were evacuated, authorities said."

Quote: "Sulfur oxide, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide, all products of combustion, have been found in the air, Xinhua reported. Plumes of white and yellow smoke, which may be an indicator of toxic hydrogen sulfide, were seen rising over the area."

Note: This might be the largest explosion so far and considering the size of some of the previous explosions, that's saying something. This explosion, which ravaged the port area right on the coast, occurred shortly before midnight. Methane and hydrogen sulfide in the atmosphere get pushed closer to the ground at night as the atmosphere cools and contracts, making explosions, fires and people and animals sickening and/or dying more common during the late hours...

Between 1982 and 2014, the bay's summer temperatures warmed by an average of about 3.5 degrees, five times the average warming rate of the planet's oceans. The bay's summer temperature appears to be increasing even more in the most recent years. Between 2009 and 2013, the average temperature warmed more than 6 degrees."

Note: Millstone nuclear plant in Waterford (Connecticut) shut down in 2012 because the ocean was too warm too, the first time in that plant's history that had happened, mentioned in the 2012-08-13 update. Serious problem looming here - if nuclear plants can't be cooled then they either shut down or they go Fukushima...

  1. This morning, while reading the usual blogs and news sources, one i visit every day - robert scribbler (who has previously banned me from posting comments there due to being "a doomer") has put up this:

Tumbling Down the Rabbit Hole Toward a Second Great Dying? World Ocean Shows Signs of Coming Extinction.

in which he seems to be on the verge of facing what i've been saying for a while now. He continues to hold out hope that humanity will change its ways wrt fossil fuel use, a view i don't share (besides which it's already too late since we've kicked in over 4 dozen self-reinforcing feedbacks that will continue to make climate change ever worse for thousands of years). In this post he describes the hydrogen sulfide problem, to which i linked to JJFH as a GREAT source on this in the comment section, where i posted the summary of the hypothesis and predictions (along with a link).

Keep up the good work, Jonny - i think people are finally beginning to catch on.

Are aliens trying to contact us? Mathematical radio waves from deep space baffle scientists

In the 1997 film "Contact," which was an adaptation of a novel written by Carl Sagan, an astrophysicist played by Jodie Foster becomes the first human to make contact with an extraterrestrial civilization after detecting a strong, patterned radio signal from outer space.

Though fictional, the movie may have been prophetic. For the last 15 years, scientists have been detecting strange radio bursts from deep space that appear mathematical in nature, reports New Scientist. The fact that they display a mathematical pattern is the linchpin: There are no known natural phenomenon capable of generating radio bursts with this kind of pattern.

So either these radio waves represent some yet undiscovered celestial event, or they are being produced by some kind of technology. In other words, if they do have a technological origin and they aren't being generated by us, that means they could be signals from an extraterrestrial intelligence. Yep, that's right: aliens.

  5. Breaking - huge fire and explosions destroy chemical plant near Houston (Texas):

Quote: "All indications are that nobody was there..."

Not dissimilar to that chemical warehouse explosion in China, although the explosions weren't as large. I hope not too many people are living too close to chemical plants.

  6. Our entire civilization is based on "better living through chemistry." There are warehouses all over the place - in every state! We're in deep doo-doo, buddy.

  7. That's the worst kind of doo-doo! But yeah, we sure are. Not really what I anticipated dealing with in my later years. I guess I should just be happy that I'm even still alive at all. Like those wise ol' Monty Python guys said, 'Always look at the bright side of life!'
