Event Update For 2015-08-11

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Quote: "Snear's death is the second reported by Fort Hood this month; Spc. Brenton Wade Blume was found dead Aug. 2 in Belton Lake after what witnesses told law enforcement was a cliff-diving mishap."

Note: Cliff-diving into...water. Lotta people diving into water and not resurfacing these days. Think about that. When you jump in water, you take a breath first, so your lungs are filled with air, which makes your body buoyant. And yet people are jumping into water and not resurfacing. The only way that can happen is if they exhale the air from their lungs immediately after diving into water, and the only reasons for that are 1) they're unconscious; 2) they're dead; or 3) they purposely expel all the air from their lungs because they're trying to commit suicide by drowning. In the vast majority of these cases, you can eliminate option 3 as a possibility. So that leaves instantaneous or near-instantaneous unconsciousness or death as the only possibilities. Hydrogen sulfide is water-soluble, it is a heavier-than-air gas that accumulates wherever water does, it is created by anaerobic digestion of biomatter at the bottom of bodies of water, and it is called a 'knockdown agent' because it can cause immediate unconsciousness or death. The only way you're going to know if water is safe is by jumping in. If you don't die then it was safe...

  1. That enormous explosion in China is all over the news this morning. No word on the big fire in Moscow.

Here's a couple stories i picked up this morning:

Ceiling collapses at packed Minneapolis concert venue

Patrons scrambled for the exits at the legendary First Avenue club in Minneapolis after a 30-foot by 30-foot section of the ceiling fell in several pieces around 10 p.m. during a performance by the Canadian hard rock band Theory of a Deadman.

"We have no idea why or how it happened," First Avenue GM Nate Kranz told the Star Tribune.

Car slams into Santa Monica cafe, triggers building fire

Monthly average of US jobless claims falls to 15-year low

[the article is propaganda as far as i'm concerned]

"Werewolf" caught on security camera in Sao Paulo, Brazil?

Hot weather moving in for the next week or so here (and in CA where i'm going - no escape!)

  2. Toxic fumes up to half a kilometer away detected from Tianjin blast area

Sulfur oxide, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide, all products of combustion, have been found in the air, Xinhua reported. Plumes of white and yellow smoke, which may be an indicator of toxic hydrogen sulfide, were seen rising over the area.

Cars washed away by floodwater in Rossano, Italy after violent storms sweep across region

2nd giant Chinese sinkhole in 2 days swallows entire building

    [bad times for China lately]

It's amazing how the weather has gotten so extreme - droughts or floods, hail, high winds, waterspouts, heat and humidity or unusually cold. The new normal.

  3. Check this out:

A boom, a flash of light, and a circle of this guy's lawn caught on fire. That was a gas plume igniting with a small explosion, which burned his lawn. Imagine if one of those goes off on your home - your home will ignite. Or if it happens out in the middle of nowhere then you get a wildfire. Or if it happens at a chemical or explosives warehouse at a port in China then you might get a gigantic explosion. This is probably happening all over now but as time goes on, it'll happen more and more. A lot of homes have been burning down with nobody there, but nearby people say the fires started with 'popping sounds' or an explosion - same thing.

  4. Yeah, we're in for a rough ride - it's pluming faster and wider than ever now.

Some more on that port explosion:

China explosions: death toll rises to 50 as troops dispatched to assist cleanup

Elite military units trained to deal with chemical, nuclear and biological disasters have been dispatched to the site of a deadly explosion in northern China, where fires still smouldered in a landscape of destruction more than a day after the original devastating blasts.

At least 50 deaths have been confirmed and 701 people admitted to hospital with injuries – 71 of those said to be “severe” – after a fire at warehouse containing “dangerous chemicals” sparked a series of blasts on Wednesday night.

    [very informative;sample quote below]

“According to the Tianjin Tanggu environmental monitoring station, hazardous chemicals stored by the company concerned include sodium cyanide, toluene diisocyanate and calcium carbide , all of which pose direct threats to human health on contact.”

Sodium cyanide is highly toxic, as it releases hydrogen cyanide gas, which interferes with the ability to breathe and can be “rapidly fatal”, the US centre for disease control said. It has a distinctive smell that has been described as bitter almonds or “musty old sneakers” but many people cannot detect it.

  5. August 13th is Earth Overshoot Day this year – In less than eight months, humanity has used up nature’s budget for the entire year

In less than eight months, humanity has used up nature’s budget for the entire year, with carbon sequestration making up more than half of the demand on nature, according to data from Global Footprint Network, an international sustainability think tank with offices in North America, Europe and Asia.

Global Footprint Network tracks humanity’s demand on the planet (Ecological Footprint) against nature’s ability to provide for this demand (biocapacity). Earth Overshoot Day marks the date when humanity’s annual demand on nature exceeds what Earth can regenerate in that year. Earth Overshoot Day has moved from early October in 2000 to August 13th this year.

The costs of this ecological overspending are becoming more evident by the day, in the form of deforestation, drought, fresh-water scarcity, soil erosion, biodiversity loss and the buildup of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The latter will significantly amplify the former, if current climate models are correct.

46 million Americans go to food banks, and long lines for dwindling food supplies begin at 6:30 AM

[this is what i'm always going on about - if JJFH doesn't get us first, this will be the one that turns civilization upside down; scary read]

i grow squash, cucumbers, etc. and donate a bunch to the local food pantry here in PA. The plants are prolific now, but the leaf damage is noticeable due to ozone and the other air pollution so that i don't get the yields i used to. i wonder how long they will hold out. Maybe some year soon the plants won't make it past seedling stage. If i had to choose - i'd rather go instantly with H2S than starve.
