Event Update For 2014-02-08

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Category: Fires And Explosions
2014-02-08 - Mammoth fire engulfs 5600 tons of rubber at warehouse at the Port of Savannah in Savannah (Georgia):
Quote: "A towering column of black smoke could be seen from miles away. The fire was burning inside a warehouse covering 226,000 square feet at the port's Ocean Terminal just west of downtown Savannah."
Quote: "The 165th Airlift Wing, Georgia Air National Guard has been called in to help support efforts to fight the warehouse fire at the Georgia Ports Authority's Ocean Terminal No. 3 on West River Street."
Note: Warehouse is/was right next to the Savannah River. This fire looks very similar to the recycling facility fire visible from orbit that burned 15,000 tons of tires in Sherburn-in-Elmet (Britain), mentioned in the 2014-01-16 update...

2014-02-08 - Vacant apartment building explodes and burns just after midnight, in Fayetteville (North Carolina):

2014-02-08 - House destroyed by explosion and fire at 4 AM in coastal Daytona Beach (Florida), nobody home:

Quote: "Neighbors said they heard an explosion and popping sounds."

Note: Ammo was inside this home, so maybe that was the cause of the explosion and popping sounds. Then again, homes have exploded and burned with popping sounds heard, with no ammo involved, so I wouldn't assume anything, especially when the explosion and fire occurs at 4 AM, near the beach, in Florida, downwind of the Gulf of Mexico, and nobody is home...

2014-02-08 - Condo hit by explosion and fire in Aurora (Colorado), 2 injured:

2014-02-08 - Brush fire erupts in San Angelo (Texas), fire spreads to auto junkyard:

Quote: "The fire marshall is investigating the exact cause of the fire. However, it appears to be a result of too little rain, dry brush, and a spark from somewhere."

Note: 'Spark from somewhere' sounds like it could be the Ghostly Match. Was there any rusty iron/steel nearby, like, say, some rusty junk cars?

2014-02-08 - Fire deaths escalating in Fort Worth (Texas):

Quote: "The city has already seen five fire-related deaths since the first of the year. In 2013 there were only four such deaths all year."

Note: So, if that pace holds true for the year, which it might (could even be worse), then fire deaths are up about 1000% in this area...

2014-02-08 - Worst blizzard in at least 20 years hits Tokyo (Japan), 3 killed:

Note: Another possible sign of volcanic winter. All by itself this one event indicates nothing, but the number of cold-related events is rising, and 2013 saw more volcanic eruptions than any year on record, and the pace only looks to have picked up since 2014 began. Volcanic winter 77,000 years ago almost exterminated the human race; the human population of the planet was reduced to fewer than 10,000 breeding pairs, so there may have been less than 50,000 people left alive on the entire planet, and the survivors - our ancestors - were very likely forced into cannibalism to survive...

2014-02-08 - Man, 53, collapses and almost dies shoveling snow in coastal Bridgeport (Connecticut), resuscitated:

  1. Hey Jonny:

Along with volcanic winter, there are at least two dozen self-reinforcing climate feedback loops now that EACH, by itself, could cause near term human extinction. The only person I've seen connect the dots with all this is Guy McPherson over on Nature Bats Last. The number has increased dramatically over the past few years from one, then a handful to now near 30. Things are decidedly not improving on the environmental front.
