Note: The boy got into trouble, dad went to help, then they both disappeared and were later found dead. This sounds suspiciously like a classic hydrogen sulfide poisoning scenario here, where 1 person succumbs then someone else comes to help and they succumb too, and sometimes this repeats for a while and bodies pile up...

Quote: "Police are investigating after the bodies of two men were pulled from Kalamalka Lake near Vernon on Wednesday morning. According to RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk, a resident was walking in Kalamalka Provincial Park when he spotted a cooler floating in the water in Cosens Bay at the north end of the lake. A second cooler was discovered on shore and the body of a small dog was spotted floating nearby, leading him to call police. A rescue crew responded and recovered two bodies wearing life jackets from the water, as well as a 12-foot aluminum boat."

Note: Dogs know how to swim, so that dead dog is pretty telling. Both men had life preservers on too. An invisible cloud of hydrogen sulfide probably blew over the three of them. They may have felt pain in their eyes and started going blind, so they freaked out, boat overturned, then all three lost consciousness and they breathed water and/or air poisoned with hydrogen sulfide until dead. It was likely something like that...

Note: This event is very similar to the man and woman found dead in a swimming pool at a luxury hotel in Essex (Britain), as mentioned in the 2013-04-27 update. Swimming pools are 'low-lying areas'. Just as they hold water, a heavier-than-air gas like hydrogen sulfide will also accumulate in pools, forming a layer on the top of the water and the gas may also contaminate the water itself (since it's water soluble).
