Event Update For 2020-04-24
http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html
The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.
A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Pentagon study: Flu shot raises risk of coronavirus by 36% (and other supporting studies)
https://www.sott.net/article/433273-Pentagon-study-Flu-shot-raises-risk-of-coronavirus-by-36-and-other-supporting-studies
On March 12th, 2020, Anderson Cooper and Dr. Sanjay Gupta held a global town hall on "Corona Facts and Fears." During the discussion, Anderson said to the viewing audience, "And, again, if you are concerned about coronavirus, and you haven't gotten a flu shot...you should get a flu shot."
In fact, the results of many peer-reviewed, published studies prove that Anderson's recommendation may have been the worst advice he could have given the public.
In searching the literature, the only study we have been able to find assessing flu shots and coronavirus is a 2020 US Pentagon study that found that the flu shot INCREASES the risks from coronavirus by 36%. "Receiving influenza vaccination may increase the risk of other respiratory viruses, a phenomenon known as "virus interference...'vaccine derived' virus interference was significantly associated with coronavirus..." Here are the findings [more]

Oregon State University researcher: Vitamins C, D can help prevent COVID-19
https://www.statesmanjournal.com/story/news/2020/04/23/coronavirus-oregon-state-university-vitamins-prevent-covid-19/3013320001/
Supplements containing vitamins C and D, along with other micronutrients, can be a "safe, effective and low-cost" means to fight off COVID-19 and other acute respiratory tract diseases, according to an Oregon State University researcher.
Adrian Gombart of OSU’s Linus Pauling Institute, along with his collaborators at universities across the world, said public health officials should issue a clear set of nutritional guidelines to complement the existing advice about washing hands to prevent the spread of infections.
Findings were published Thursday in the peer-reviewed journal Nutrients. [more]
UChicago Medicine doctors see 'truly remarkable' success using ventilator alternatives to treat COVID-19
https://www.uchicagomedicine.org/forefront/coronavirus-disease-covid-19/uchicago-medicine-doctors-see-truly-remarkable-success-using-ventilator-alternatives-to-treat-covid19
Doctors at the University of Chicago Medicine are seeing “truly remarkable” results using high-flow nasal cannulas rather than ventilators and intubation to treat some COVID-19 patients.
High-flow nasal cannulas, or HFNCs, are non-invasive nasal prongs that sit below the nostrils and blow large volumes of warm, humidified oxygen into the nose and lungs. [more]

Amazon May Have Misled Congress, House Judiciary Chair Says
ReplyDeletehttps://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-04-23/amazon-may-have-misled-congress-house-judiciary-chair-says
Amazon.com Inc. may have misled Congress when a company lawyer testified last year that the online retailer doesn’t use data it collects on sales to favor its own products over third-party sellers, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee said.
Representative Jerrold Nadler said a story in the Wall Street Journal Thursday that reported Amazon used data from sellers to develop competing products raised “deep concerns.”
“Amazon has had opportunities to correct the record on its business practices,” the New York Democrat said in a statement. “It is deeply concerning that, beginning with the hearing last year, they may have misled Congress rather than be fully forthcoming on this matter.” [more]
Fewer than half of working Americans will have a paycheck in May as devastating coronavirus layoffs persist, economist says
https://www.businessinsider.com.au/layoffs-coronavirus-less-than-half-american-workers-paycheck-wage-may-2020-4
Recent job losses due to the coronavirus pandemic could mean that fewer than half of working-age Americans will be earning a wage in May, James Knightley, chief international economist at ING, wrote in a Thursday note.
Job losses have already contributed to slumps in consumer spending, seen in retail and housing sales reports. Given that consumption makes up roughly 70% of US gross domestic product, the effects on the economy will be severe.
In an election year, the widespread unemployment will likely mean that the call for politicians to reopen the economy will grow, irrespective of health advice, according to Knightley.
But reopening too soon lessens the chance that the US will see a swift recovery, he added.
U.S. Reels Toward Meat Shortages and the World May Be Next
https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/meat-supply-threats-grow-first-181155792.html
Plant shutdowns are leaving the U.S. dangerously close to meat shortages as coronavirus outbreaks now spread to suppliers across the Americas.
Almost a third of U.S. pork capacity is down, the first big poultry plants closed on Friday and experts are warning that domestic shortages are just weeks away. Brazil, the world’s No. 1 shipper of chicken and beef, saw its first major closure with the halt of a poultry plant owned by JBS SA, the world’s biggest meat company. Key operations are also down in Canada, the latest being a British Columbia poultry plant. [more]
If the coronavirus pandemic marks the collapse of civilization, would we know? Experts weigh in.
https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/does-coronavirus-pandemic-mark-collapse-civilization-experts-212008870.html
For the most part, history is more complicated and more nuanced than we give it credit for. Hindsight serves to soften and streamline the narrative. Understanding contemporary motivations requires a sense of cultural relativism that’s often neglected.
There are, however, some universals that transcend millennia: “Every single civilization to date has collapsed.”
The modern civilization that we call America will likely not be exempt, he says.
“To say, ‘Oh, we’re so great, we’re so technologically advanced, we will not collapse,’ that’s hogwash. Every civilization has collapsed,” Cline tells Yahoo Life. “It would be hubristic to think that we would be immune.” [more]

World’s Biggest Wheat Supply Dries Up When Some Want It Most
https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/world-running-russian-wheat-want-142042050.html
For the first time in a decade, the world risks being cut off from Russian wheat at a time when some key buyers are rushing to import it.
The top shipper last month limited sales through June to protect its own supply as the coronavirus crisis sparks food-security concerns around the world. Although the curbs were seen loose enough to ensure normal trade flows for this time of year, Russia has already burned through the entire quota. It will halt grain shipments to all but four former Soviet neighbors once the last cargo booked under the limits leaves the country. [more]
Record breaking heat settles in the Southwest
https://www.yahoo.com/gma/record-breaking-heat-settles-southwest-110908371--abc-news-topstories.html
A storm system moving through the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast is bringing heavy rain and occasional gusty winds from Illinois to New England this morning.
This same storm already brought reports of gusty winds from Kentucky to North Carolina on Saturday and hail up to the size of a hen egg was reported in North Carolina on I-85 with evening thunderstorms. The storms also brought 2 to 3 inches of rain to parts of Missouri and Illinois.
Overnight into Monday morning, however, the atmosphere should cool down enough for some rain to change over to snow in parts of the higher elevations from northern Pennsylvania to Maine. Little to no accumulation is expected for most of the area, except for near the Canadian border where a few slushy inches could accumulate. That is also where we find the latest winter weather advisories being issued.
The storm will pull away on Monday night with some remnant showers remaining and a few occasional gusty winds. The combination of some gusty winds, ongoing showers and widespread cloud cover will make it feel pretty raw in the Northeast.
The first heat wave of the season is still ongoing in the western U.S. Los Angeles International Airport, Pasadena, San Diego, Anaheim and Newport Beach all tied or broke daily record highs on Saturday. [more]

No, You Don't Actually Have To Wipe Down Your Groceries

We've broken down the proper protocol for safely handling food below. Reminder: These guidelines may change as the situation develops. As of publishing, this information is current, and we'll continue to update it as needed.
There is no evidence that coronavirus can be transmitted via food or food packaging.
Experts still believe that the primary form of transmission of COVID-19 is person-to-person, not through food or food containers.
Experts seem to agree that you can wipe up off non-porous containers, such as cans, with a disinfectant wipe and remove things such as bags of cereal from their cardboard box.
But again, this is only if this brings you peace of mind. [more]
