Event Update For 2020-01-08

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2020-01-08 - Wildfires devastating wildlife across Australia:

Quote: "Scientists fear many billions of animals may have been killed by the bushfires that have swept across Australia’s south-east. At least one species is feared extinct as scientists continue to raise their estimates for the animal death toll. Hundreds of billions of insects are also feared dead."

2020-01-08 - Wildfire damage estimates soar in Australia:

Quote: "AccuWeather estimates the total damage and economic loss caused by the Australia wildfires from September 2019 and into 2020 will be $110 billion, according to Myers, based on an analysis incorporating independent methods to evaluate all direct and indirect impacts of the fires based on a variety of sources."

2020-01-08 - In Australia's burning forests, signs that we've passed a global warming tipping point:

Quote: "The surge of large, destructive forest fires from the Arctic to the tropics just in the last few years has shocked even researchers who focus on forests and fires and who have warned of such tipping points for years. The projections were seen as remote, 'something that would happen much farther in the future,' said University of Arizona climate scientist David Breashers."

2020-01-08 - 2019 Was the second-hottest year ever recorded, second only to the El-Nino-enhanced year of 2016:

Quote: "Jellyfish numbers have exploded all around Australia's coastline and climate change is to blame, according to experts."

Note: Jellyfish reproduce better/faster in warmer waters, so as the oceans heat up, jellyfish will do just fine even as most other life dies off. Jellyfish are an ancient lifeform. They survived the Great Dying 252 million years ago and the current extinction event is a repeat of the Great Dying, so they'll survive this extinction event too. They'll be here long after we're gone...

  1. TGIF Jonny. The bitter cold seems to have moved on and it's getting warmer by the hour here, supposed to top out sometime this afternoon at around 50 F. Saturday and Sunday are predicted to be in the low to mid 60s.

Gotta love all those "medical conditions" that nobody questions or ever follows up on to pinpoint exactly what they are. i'm sure the drivers, if they don't actually DIE, are left wondering WTF that was all about (especially when, like me, they never experienced anything like blacking out suddenly before). What could be more confidence-shaking than riding down the road, perfectly fine, thinking about what you're doing, watching where you're going, maybe listening to the radio, when, in a single breath, you faint WHILE DRIVING, and when you wake up, your pickup is smashed into a tree, a building or crumpled up in a ditch, you've sustained a head injury, the windshield is cracked and the truck is useless and smoking, possibly catching fire. The cops come and ask you what happened and you CAN'T REMEMBER OR EXPLAIN it. Very disconcerting.

i hope some form of life survives this extinction event, but i'm not seeing it. Even jellyfish can't live in an environment of ionizing radiation (as far as i know), a hydrogen sulfide permeated soup of an ocean, dead-zones or if there's no source of food (besides other jellyfish). But, what do i know?

Torrential rain killing 41 people comes on the heels of a severe drought caused by years of erratic rainfall and record-high temperatures in Angola

Torrential rain in Angola has killed 41 people and caused widespread destruction, the government said on Thursday. Twelve out of 18 provinces were hit by a violent downpour which began in the early hours of Monday and lasted late into the afternoon, Interior Minister Eugenio Laborinho said in a statement.

Forty-one people died and more than 300 homes were destroyed by flooding, he said."In recent days we have been witnessing heavy rainfall, causing flooding, destruction of infrastructure and plantations," he said. More than 2,000 families had been affected, said Laborinho, warning that drinking water and electricity supplies had been cut off in some areas. The rain comes on the heels of a severe regional drought caused by years of erratic rainfall and record-high temperatures.

The Case Against Reality | Prof. Donald Hoffman on Conscious Agent Theory [~ 112.6 min.]

We have no clue how consciousness emerges from 3 pounds of wet goo. Cognitive scientist Don Hoffman takes us deep into his research suggesting we're attacking the problem backwards. The implications may challenge all you know about our place in reality. Take the Red Pill and see how deep the rabbit hole goes...

In this extended interview we dive into the Interface Theory of Perception (how evolution hides the truth about reality in favor of a dumbed down "user interface" that only shows us "fitness payoffs" that help us survive), the "Hard Problem of Consciousness" and how we simply have no idea how consciousness could emerge from physical matter, the non-dual theory of Conscious Realism (how reality is really a social network of "conscious agents" and our perceptions are simply the interface by which we exchange experience with other agents), the math behind conscious agent theory, implications for artificial intelligence (AI), psychedelics, spirituality, and much, much more. Is the crash of the Ukrainian jet a FALSE FLAG?

So the pieces are coming together now.

Mossad through MEK caused the crash of that plane but the timing was done so that it would coincide with the missiles which were shot at the same time towards Iraq from Kermanshah on the border of Iraq.

The goal was to blame it on a Missile hit even though it is absurd that a missile from Kermanshah would fly East for almost eight hundred kilometers and then make a u-turn to go west towards Iraq but nevertheless they're going to try to make a story out of it, so the pieces are coming together.

It’s confronting to see military evacuations, usually reserved for developing regions of the world following natural disasters, happening right here in 21st-century Australia. The sheer scale and severity of the emergency has actually overwhelmed our capacity as a nation to deal with the unfolding events. Not just in one area following a single event, but across multiple disasters occurring simultaneously in every state and territory of our nation.

As a climate scientist, the thing that really terrifies me is that weather conditions considered extreme by today’s standards will seem sedate in the future. What’s unfolding right now is really just a taste of the new normal. [more]

The fire at the diesel processing unit of the plant in the city of Ukhta, population circa 100,000, was preceded by "two bangs of a technological character," a source in the Emergencies Ministry said.

The blaze spread quickly, covering around 1,000 square meters at its peak. It was assigned the highest category of difficulty, with around 80 emergency workers and 15 firetrucks involved in extinguishing it. A fire train was later sent to help put the blaze out.

The local authorities said that blaze posed no threat to the city and that it didn't lead to any harmful substances polluting the air. [more; HAH! that's what they were TOLD to say]

Third body found buried by avalanche at Silver Mountain ski resort in Idaho

Buried under about 10 feet of snow after an avalanche this week at an Idaho ski resort, Bill Fuzak made peace with his predicament and prepared for death.

"I had already relegated myself to the inevitable as I knew the air would not last long,'' Fuzak, 62, wrote on a public Facebook page for skiers. "I'm really surprised how calm I felt but knew there was nothing I could do but wait and pray.''

His prayers were answered. Fuzak became one of five survivors extricated from Tuesday's avalanche at the Silver Mountain Resort near Kellogg, Idaho. Two other skiers were killed, and the body of a third skier was recovered on Thursday. The resort remained closed Thursday.

Fuzak, a skier who lives in the nearby Spokane, Washington, area, said he was entombed in the snow for about 50 minutes, much longer than most avalanche survivors.

Unable to move anything but his right hand, he cleared snow from his face and mouth. At some point, he passed out.

"The first thing I remember when coming back to consciousness was a group of rescuers cheering that a survivor had been located: me,'' Fuzak wrote [more]

Acidic environment could boost power of harmful pathogens

When food we've swallowed reaches our stomachs, it finds an acidic environment. The low pH in the stomach helps to begin digestion — and has been thought to kill the bacteria that hides in food that otherwise could harm our bodies.

However, recent work from the Ackley and Chandler labs in the Department of Molecular Biosciences at the University of Kansas runs counter to this idea, instead suggesting lower pH in the digestive tract may make some bacterial pathogens even more harmful. [more]
Trump's Latest Environmental Rollback Is A Middle Finger To Common Sense

The Trump administration on Thursday unveiled plans to gut one of America’s most important environmental laws ― a move experts say is as much of a handout to polluting industries as it is a slap in the face to science and local communities.

The proposed rules would change how the federal government implements the National Environmental Policy Act, a 50-year-old law that protects air, water and land by requiring federal agencies to conduct detailed environmental assessments of major infrastructure projects. Agencies would no longer be required to consider climate change when evaluating the environmental effects of pipelines, power plants, oil and gas drilling, airports, highways and other development.

President Donald Trump announced the reforms in a speech at the White House Thursday morning, saying the federal permitting process is “big government at its absolute worst.”

“The United States will not be able to compete and prosper in the 21st century if we continue to allow a broken and outdated bureaucratic system hold us back from building what we need,” he said. [more]

Black seed: An effective supplement for treating and dissolving kidney stones

Nigella sativa, more commonly known as black seed, is a widely used therapeutic plant around the world, including in Ayurvedic medicine. A study on 60 patients with kidney stones offers evidence of its might and effectiveness in helping treat or reduce the size of painful kidney stones.

A study published in the journal Phytotherapy Research sought to evaluate its effectiveness in dissolving kidney stones.[iv] In the randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial, 60 patients with kidney stones were given either placebo or treatment consisting of 500 milligrams (mg) of black seed capsules, twice a day for 10 weeks.

The recruits were aged 20 to 60 years and had kidney stones larger than 5 millimeters (mm). The team assessed the size of the patients' kidney stones via sonography before and after the study period. They found that 44.4% in the black seed group excreted their stones completely, with the size of the stones in 3.7% remaining unchanged and decreasing in a notable 51.8%.

In the placebo group, on the other hand, only 15.3% excreted their stones completely, with 11.5% experiencing size reduction and 57.6% having no change in stone size.

Black seed was generally well-tolerated in the study group. It significantly increased serum calcium and proved more effective on smaller stones, particularly those under 7 mm in diameter.[v]

The researchers saw a significant difference in the size of the kidney stones between the two groups, concluding that black seed may be effective for reducing the size of kidney stones or even making them disappear entirely. [more]

  8. US tried to take out another Iranian leader, but failed

The officials said a military airstrike by special operations forces targeted Abdul Reza Shahlai, a high-ranking commander in Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps but the mission was not successful. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity in order to discuss a classified mission.

Officials said both Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani and Shahlai were on approved military targeting lists, which indicates a deliberate effort by the U.S. to cripple the leadership of Iran’s Quds force, which has been designated a terror organization by the U.S. Officials would not say how the mission failed. Trump Freed by Court to Use Military Money to Build Border Wall

President Donald Trump’s planned U.S. border wall with Mexico got another boost after a federal appeals court lifted an order that had blocked his use of $3.6 billion in military construction funds.

The 2-1 decision issued Wednesday night by the U.S. Court of Appeals in New Orleans allows Trump to begin diverting the funds from other military projects while the government appeals a December ruling by a federal judge in Texas that it’s illegal to use the money for the wall.

The U.S. Supreme Court in July lifted an order in California that blocked Trump from proceeding with wall projects using $2.5 billion in military funds that had been earmarked for drug interdiction. [more; yeah, who cays about da grunts?]
