Event Update For 2019-07-15

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Quote: "'This emergency mobilization of ordinary citizens, driven to action by the threat of climate breakdown and ecological collapse, will demand the government take immediate action to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gases to net zero by 2025,' the group said."

Note: They wouldn't like what would happen if we DID (somehow) reduce greenhouse gases to net zero by 2025. That'd mean the loss of the protection we are currently enjoying from global dimming and then temps would immediately spike significantly, resulting in rapid and dramatic escalation of any number of climate feedbacks that would wipe us out even quicker than if we simply kept polluting. Continuing our polluting will ALSO wipe us out, of course, just slower. I admire their gumption and courage and conviction, but they still think we can 'fix things' and have no idea just how thoroughly doomed we actually are...

“Due To A Poor Harvest Season, We Are Experiencing Shortages On Many Of Our Canned Vegetable Items”
    http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/so-it-begins-due-to-a-poor-harvest-season-we-are-experiencing-shortages-on-many-of-our-canned-vegetable-items

I know that this headline is alarming, but it is actually a direct quote from a notice that was recently posted in a Kroger supermarket. And as you will see below, similar notices are being posted in the canned vegetable sections of Wal-Mart stores nationwide. I would encourage you to examine the evidence in this article very carefully and to come to your own conclusions about what is happening. At this moment, social media is buzzing with reports of shortages of canned vegetables all around the country. But so far, the mainstream media is being eerily quiet about all of this. Is there a reason why they aren’t saying anything? For months, I have been reporting on the extremely bizarre weather patterns that are causing crop failures all over the planet. But I certainly did not expect that we would already begin to see product shortages on the shelves of major U.S. supermarkets this summer. What I am about to share with you is shocking, but the truth needs to get out. For those that share my articles on your own websites, I know that all of the images in this article are going to be an inconvenience, but it is imperative that you include them when you republish this article because they tell a story. All of the images are taken directly from Facebook, and they prove that we are now facing a nationwide shortage of canned vegetables. [more]

Red-winged blackbirds appear to be a major culprit, reports The Wall Street Journal, with people reporting that the songbirds have been divebombing or slamming in to them as they jog or walk through their neighborhoods.

Meanwhile, parks departments and natural resources officers say hawk and wild turkey attacks are on the rise, and crows can also be aggressive while protecting their nests.

"Just about everybody has an example of a crow attack," says Jim O'Leary of Vancouver, British Columbia, who started CrowTrax, an interactive site tracking crow attacks after one crow went rogue in his neighborhood. [more]

Understanding the Permafrost–Hydrate System and Associated Methane Releases in the East Siberian Arctic Shelf
    http://robinwestenra.blogspot.com/2019/07/shakhova-et-al-paper-on-methane.html

Abstract : This paper summarizes current understanding of the processes that determine the dynamics of the subsea permafrost–hydrate system existing in the largest, shallowest shelf in the Arctic Ocean; the East Siberian Arctic Shelf (ESAS). We review key environmental factors and mechanisms that determine formation, current dynamics, and thermal state of subsea permafrost, mechanisms of its destabilization, and rates of its thawing; a full section of this paper is devoted to this topic. Another important question regards the possible existence of permafrost-related hydrates at shallow ground depth and in the shallow shelf environment. We review the history of and earlier insights about the topic followed by an extensive review of experimental work to establish the physics of shallow Arctic hydrates. We also provide a principal (simplified) scheme explaining the normal and altered dynamics of the permafrost–hydrate system as glacial–interglacial climate epochs alternate. We also review specific features of methane releases determined by the current state of the subsea-permafrost system and possible future dynamics. This review presents methane results obtained in the ESAS during two periods: 1994–2000 and 2003–2017. A final section is devoted to discussing future work that is required to achieve an improved understanding of the subject. [more]

  7. Dangerous heat to roast much of the U.S.
    https://a.msn.com/r/2/AAEsXKI

A heat wave featuring a life-threatening combination of heat and oppressive humidity has begun to spread across the United States, with excessive heat warnings and heat advisories in effect for at least 22 states and the District of Columbia. According to the National Weather Service, 51 percent of the Lower 48 states are likely to see air temperatures reach or exceed 95 degrees during the next seven days, with 85 percent experiencing temperatures above 90 degrees during the same period.

The heat index, which is a measure of how hot it feels to the human body when air temperatures are combined with the amount of moisture in the air, are forecast to climb into rare territory in many cities, from Chicago to Kansas City and eastward all the way north into southern New England.
According to the Weather Service forecast office in Chicago, “The heat is forecast to be oppressive and dangerous everywhere, with possibly some of the hottest conditions since 2012."
The heat index in Washington, for example, is forecast to peak around 110 degrees on Saturday, with similarly sweat-inducing readings predicted for the so-called “Acela Corridor,” up through Philadelphia and New York. Chicago could see a heat index of near 113 degrees on Saturday.
Because this is typically the hottest time of the year, it’s difficult to break daily and all-time high temperature records, so a wave of new temperature benchmarks are not expected. However, this event will be remembered for its wide geographic scope, stretching from the Plains to the East Coast, as well as the high overnight low temperatures that stand a better chance of breaking records.

In New York, the temperature may not fall below 80 degrees at night between Friday and Monday.

Extreme heat is the deadliest form of extreme weather in the United States, beating hurricanes and floods in a typical year.

Climate change is already making heat waves more frequent and severe

While hot weather in mid-July is to be expected, heat waves such as this one are already becoming more common, longer-lasting and intense across much of the world because of human-caused global warming.

For example, a study in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences last year found a fingerprint of climate change in excessive heat events worldwide. Specifically, it found that climate change has heightened the chances for record heat across more than 80 percent of the surface area of the globe where there is robust temperature data. [more]

  8. And that has consequences.

    Persistent dehydration, heat 'stroke',
severe sunburn, dizziness, nausea, headache and more if you must be outside (for work, say), while the heat and high UVC burn and wilt plant life.

Infrastructurally speaking, the possibility of a large blackout, which would spoil a lot of food among a long list of other direct problems, lurks - especially because, at least here on the east coast we're expecting severe thunderstorms, flash flooding and other weather to accompany the long duration heat.

I'd be interested how y'all are doin'.
