Event Update For 2019-07-11

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2019-07-11 - Number of people sickened surpasses 100 after swimming in Lake Minnetonka (Minnesota):

http://abcnews.go.com/US/120-people-minnesota-reportedly-sick-boating-july-4th/story?id=64268916

Quote: "Austin Hilgenberg was one of them. He said he started feeling sick about three days after his trip to Big Island. He ruled out food poisoning because he said people weren’t all eating the same foods. He admits jumping into the lake and possibly ingesting some water. 'I actually had my girlfriend on my shoulders and she wasn’t in the water and she didn’t get sick,' Hilgenberg said."

2019-07-11 - Unknown cause wiping out a variety of crops across the island of Sri Lanka:
http://hisz.rsoe.hu/alertmap/database/index.php?pageid=event_desc&edis_id=BH-20190711-68696-LKA
http://www.hirunews.lk/220075/an-unidentified-disease-has-affected-vegetable-cultivation-in-two-provinces

Quote: "Farmers said that an unidentified disease has affected vegetable cultivations in both the Northcentral and Central Provinces and that the cultivations are being destroyed. Due to this disease, in the Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa Districts of the Northcentral Province and the Matale District of the Central Province especially, a large area of cultivations have been destroyed and the farmer said they are in dire straits economically. The farmers said that there are various characteristics of this disease affecting the cultivations. The destruction can be seen largely in Dewahuwa, Watagala, Kalawewa, Dambulu Halmillewa, Habaraththawala, Budugehinna, Galnewa, Narula, Laggala and Habarana areas. This disease has affected many vegetables including, pumpkin, kekiri, cucumber, watermelon, winged beans, bitter gourd, beans, long beans, etc. In addition, it is possible to see that paddy too has been affected."

Note: They don't know it's a disease, and it's unlikely that any disease would affect so many different species. If it IS a disease then this is a serious planetary-scale food security threat. Sri Lanka is one of the places where people are mysteriously dying off in large numbers and at young ages due to kidney failure...

  1. Mornin' Jonny, all. Made it through another week of global unrest and calamity. Locally, it's been beautiful, except for the flooding rains that sweep in occasionally.

Lots of people being affected by breathing in noxious air, having unexplained medical episodes and crashing while driving, and dying in and around water.

There’s An Environmental Disaster Unfolding In The Gulf of Mexico
    http://www.fasterthanexpected.com/2019/07/11/theres-an-environmental-disaster-unfolding-in-the-gulf-of-mexico/

A historic slow-moving flood of polluted Mississippi River water loaded with chemicals, pesticides and human waste from 31 states and two Canadian provinces is draining straight into the marshes and bayous of the Gulf of Mexico — the nurseries of Arnesen’s fishing grounds — upsetting the delicate balance of salinity and destroying the fragile ecosystem in the process. As the Gulf waters warm this summer, algae feed on the freshwater brew, smothering oxygen-starved marine life.

"Lockheed Martin's commitment to keep operational the Sikorsky helicopter plant in Coatesville provides short-term certainty for 465 workers, who were expected to either lose their jobs or be re-located later this year," Toomey [R-PA] tweeted. "Many thanks to President Trump, my congressional colleagues, and community leaders with whom I worked to prevent the plant's immediate closure. I remain dedicated to supporting the workers in Coatesville and will remain engaged on this issue."

Sen. Bob Casey, D-PA, said he was happy to hear the plant would not be closing, but added that he was concerned about the lack of specifics moving forward.

"While this announcement is an encouraging first step, I am concerned that the announcement lacks a specific plan to bring new work to the Coatesville facility that would keep the plant open beyond the next several months," Casey tweeted. "The Sikorsky Coatesville employees deserve answers on the long-term viability of the plant." [more; talk, talk]

No evidence of man-made climate change, says new Finnish study
    https://www.sott.net/article/416675-No-evidence-of-man-made-climate-change-says-new-Finnish-study

In a paper published late last month, entitled 'No experimental evidence for the significant anthropogenic climate change', a team of scientists at Turku University in Finland determined that current climate models fail to take into account the effects of cloud coverage on global temperatures, causing them to overestimate the impact of human-generated greenhouse gasses.

If we pay attention to the fact that only a small part of the increased CO2 concentration is anthropogenic, we have to recognize that the anthropogenic climate change does not exist in practice.

Japanese researchers at the University of Kobe arrived at similar results as the Turku team, finding in a paper published in early July that cloud coverage may create an "umbrella effect" that could alter temperatures in ways not captured by current modeling. The newly revealed spill has been flowing off and on since May and has again stopped, Chevron spokeswoman Veronica Flores-Paniagua said. She and California officials said the spill is not near any waterway and has not significantly affected wildlife. The last flow was Tuesday. [more]

  4. Hah, yeah, I'd have to ask who's paying for those 'it's the clouds' studies. Chevron and company?

Remember the infrared video footage of the methane billowing from that huge methane leak in Aliso Canyon in California? In infrared, those clouds were BLACK. That means those clouds were extremely highly heat-absorbent - no infrared was bouncing off of that methane. Well, the methane levels in the atmosphere are skyrocketing, and it accumulates in the upper atmosphere. So in terms of heat-absorption, we are basically painting the outer edge of the planet black. What happens if you paint your house black? Nobody does that, because then they'd cook. But that's what we're doing to the planet. Same concept, much bigger house, with 7 billion occupants.

  5. Also, the Moon would be a great place to put an infrared telescope pointing at the Earth. The Moon always has the same side facing the Earth, so you could put it there, align it and leave it there taking observations. Over time we would see the Earth getting darker in infrared as the methane accumulates. The human race will go extinct long before the Earth goes completely black, if indeed it ever does, but we'd be able to watch the darkening of the Earth in infrared AS we go extinct. Nice, simple, cost-effective observational tool.

  8. Barry strengthens into hurricane along La. coast
    https://news.yahoo.com/millions-line-punishing-rain-tropical-043445602.html

Carrying "off the chart" amounts of moisture, Hurricane Barry crawled toward shore Saturday, knocking out power along the Gulf Coast and dumping heavy rains that could last for days in a test of the flood-prevention systems built after Hurricane Katrina 14 years ago.

The Coast Guard rescued more than a dozen people from the remote Isle de Jean Charles, south of New Orleans, where water rose so high that some residents clung to rooftops. But in the city, locals and tourists wandered through mostly empty streets under a light rain or stayed indoors.

The storm strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph (120 kph), just above the 74 mph (120 kph) threshold to be a hurricane. Barry was expected to weaken again after reaching land and become a tropical depression on Sunday. [more]

Researchers publish first-ever photo of quantum entanglement
    https://www.sott.net/article/416691-Researchers-publish-first-ever-photo-of-quantum-entanglement

In an incredible first, scientists have captured the world's first actual photo of quantum entanglement - a phenomenon so strange Einstein famously described it as 'spooky action at a distance'.

The image was captured by physicists at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, and it's so breathtaking we can't stop staring.

It might not look like much, but just stop and think about it for a second: this fuzzy grey image is the first time we've seen the particle interaction that underpins the strange science of quantum mechanics and forms the basis of quantum computing.

Quantum entanglement occurs when two particles become inextricably linked, and whatever happens to one immediately affects the other, regardless of how far apart they are. Hence the 'spooky action at a distance' description.

This particular photo shows entanglement between two photons - two particles of light. They're interacting and for a brief moment sharing physical states. [more]
