Event Update For 2019-01-27

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2019-01-27 - Passenger plane hit by 'strange toxic smell', twice, in and near coastal Boston (Massachusetts), 10 crew members sickened:

http://theworldnews.net/gb-news/british-airways-flight-declares-emergency-at-30-000ft-as-toxic-smell-leaves-ten-crew-in-hospital
http://ie.shafaqna.com/EN/AL/1156768

Quote: "A British Airways pilot declared a ‘May Day’ emergency at 30,000ft due to fumes on a packed airliner resulting in 10 crew members being taken to hospital. The drama unfolded just hours after the same plane suffered another reported odour scare. Crew members on a Boeing 747 from Heathrow to Boston told of a 'strange toxic smell' after touchdown in the US. An official Air Safety Report was completed into the incident on Flight BA213 - which was carrying passengers including Jason Mahoney, the Head of Engineering for BA. After a check by BA engineers in Boston the same plane was declared safe for take-off on its return leg to London. Flight BA212 was 1hr 41 minutes into the journey when the Captain declared an emergency due to another fume event. The aircraft returned to Boston where 10 crew members were taken to hospital for checks. BA sources said two cabin crew were seriously ill, with one violently unwell - but the airline said there was no evidence of this."

2019-01-27 - Drilling and analysis underway in Antarctica to discover whether there's a decline in hydroxyl radicals in the atmosphere:
http://www.smh.com.au/environment/climate-change/terrifying-scientists-dig-deep-for-missing-piece-of-climate-puzzle-20190125-p50tjs.html

Quote: "Etheridge, who helped provide the Sun-Herald and Sunday Age with a tour of CSIRO's world-renowned air archive at Aspendale in Melbourne's sandbelt last week, says his "gut-feeling" is that hydroxyl abundance will be shown to be on the skids. 'From my reading of the evidence and the chemistry, I would expect to see a decline over the industrial period of hydroxyl. I would expect it to have decreased,' he says, stressing that the results from the current project have not been tested."

Quote: "The implications, though, of proof of a reduced ability to destroy methane - which now has a life in the atmosphere of about a decade - would be profound, depending on the scale of any decline."

Note: Hydroxyl radicals react away methane and hydrogen sulfide and many other pollutants, so a decline in hydroxyl radicals in the atmosphere would mean such pollutants would last longer in the atmosphere. I'm pretty confident that atmospheric hydroxyl radicals ARE in decline, just as the scientist above also expects. It's a very hard thing to test though, thus all this effort in drilling in the Antarctic. If atmospheric hydroxyl radicals are in decline then that alone could explain why the 'official' estimates are always way off in overestimating how much time we have left until Horrible_Thing_X begins and thus why things always happen 'faster than expected'. As a general rule, if things happen faster than you expect, over and over and over again, CHANGE YOUR EFFING EXPECTATIONS. Derp!

  1. Great work, Jonny. So many people experiencing "medical episodes" (that have no further explanation), causing accidents while driving or dying on the spot! Only place to see this news is HERE at JJFH.

i gotta start off to college classes (10:10 til 1:20 pm) to fight the traffic. No snow or rain yet - it's supposed to hit around noon, so i'll be struggling through the wintry mix on the drive home. After the snow/rain adventure we get the same bitter cold that you're going through out there in MO.

Climate Collapse: Wind Chill Temperatures Will Hit -60 In The Midwest This Week As Global Weather Patterns Shift
    http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/climate-collapse-wind-chill-temperatures-will-hit-60-in-the-midwest-this-week-as-global-weather-patterns-shift

The experts are telling us that the Midwest could experience the coldest weather that it has ever seen this week. Wind chill temperatures of -40 and -50 degrees will be common throughout the region, and it is being projected that some spots will actually get hit by wind chill temperatures of up to -60 degrees. A shift in the polar vortex is being blamed for this life-threatening weather, and we are being told to expect the coldest temperatures to arrive on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. But all-time records are already being set. [more]

Decreasing snow cover causes increasing methane production in frozen lakes
    http://www.desdemonadespair.net/2019/01/decreasing-snow-cover-causes-increasing.html

New, unexpected consequences of climate change keep presenting themselves. A new study from Uppsala University and SLU shows that a decreased snow cover on frozen lakes in boreal forests may inhibit the activity of methane degrading bacteria beneath the ice, thereby causing an increased net production of methane, a powerful greenhouse greenhouse gas. The Cure For Wealth Inequality: Denialistic Mega Crash
    http://ponziworld.blogspot.com/2019/01/denialistic-mega-crash.html

Anyone wondering where the borrowed tax cut and Fed Ponzi money went, can put their mind at ease, it's in the hands of America's bailout class. The decade since 2008 has been spent perfecting Robber-Baron-o-Nomics

"Goldman Sachs says stock ownership among the 1% and 0.1% has risen, as the gap between rich and poor has widened"

Today, perma-bulltard Cramer finally came to the realization that the cycle is over. In addition to Nvidia, Caterpillar warned today, Intel warned last week, large U.S. banks warned two weeks ago, Apple and Samsung warned earlier this month.

Even the most ardent denialists are starting to take notice

It's abundantly clear in hindsight that the entire Trump tax cut ended up in the Cayman Islands. Where it joined the $4.5 trillion printed by the Fed to prop up risk assets over the past decade. The MEGA Cascadia earthquake is OVERDUE and could strike the west coast of the US at any moment – creating huge 30 metre-high tsunami waves within seconds – Prepare for this apocalyptic event

What people are already calling the “big one” is a M9.0 impending earthquake that is set to destroy most of the northwest region of the United States with huge 30 metre-high tsunami waves. Northwest FEMA Director Kenneth Murphy said that this natural disaster along the Cascadia Subduction Zone – a major fault line that runs from Northern California to British Columbia – is set to kill around 13,000 people and injure another 2,500. This has prompted the Cascadia Preparedness Team to draw up urgent plans to prepare for the apocalyptic scenario.

Yumei Wang, from the Oregon Geology and Mineral Industries, said that the major earthquake is more than 50 years overdue.

“People don’t really understand that there will be thousands of bridge failures and there won’t be any liquid fuel or electricity or any communication going. Running water may stop and it may take several days for responders to start helping with rescues and evacuations.“ [more; so they're urging everyone to prepare for 2 weeks of these conditions - like it'll all be fine after that . . . .]

Japan’s squid industry in crisis amid record low catches

[better check the few ya catch for plastic and radiation]

rilled, raw, stewed, dried, fermented, fried: squid has long been consumed with abundance in Japan, appearing in countless everyday dishes.

Now, however, Japan’s long-running love affair with squid is in danger, with growing reports that catches this season have hit a record low, causing prices to soar.

A drop in volumes of squid caught by Japanese fisherman has been attributed by experts to a combination of overfishing and rising sea temperatures due to climate change. [more]

  4. Counting the cost of the 2018 heatwave in New Zealand
    http://www.desdemonadespair.net/2019/01/counting-cost-of-2018-heatwave-in-new.html

In our research, we looked at what happened and why, and found that the heatwave affected many sectors, leading to early grape harvests and killing farmed fish in parts of the country.

Drivers of warmer than average conditions

We used a combination of land and ocean temperature observations, large-scale analyses of the atmospheric circulation, and ocean modelling to understand the drivers of the 2017/18 summer heatwave. It was memorable for a number of extreme events and statistics.

The average air temperature was 2.2°C above the 1981-2010 normal of 16.7°C, and it was the warmest summer ever recorded in more than 150 years. The number of extreme warm days and warm nights was also the highest recorded, going back several decades. [more]
