Event Update For 2018-05-12

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

A bounce house — with a 9-year-old child inside — suddenly got swept onto a nearby highway in Southern California and slammed into a vehicle amid strong winds Saturday afternoon.

The 9-year-old was taken to a hospital for treatment, while the driver of the vehicle that was hit was "shook up from the ordeal" but otherwise wasn't hurt. [more; ~ 2 min. video]

Woman Who Started Mother's Day Died Boycotting It

Anna Jarvis, a social activist, founded Mother's Day more than a century ago in honor of her late mother.

The social activist's calls for a day to honor mothers across the U.S. grew, until President Woodrow Wilson declared it an official holiday in 1914.

By the 1920s, however, florists and card-manufacturers had begun to take advantage of the holiday, through mass commercialization of cards and gifts, much to Jarvis' dismay.

The social activist was frustrated by the capitalist exploitation of the holiday and went on the dedicate the rest of her life to fighting against commercialization.

"To have Mother’s Day the burdensome, wasteful, expensive gift day that Christmas and other special days have become, is not our pleasure," Jarvis wrote. [more]

U.S. Navy’s Costliest Warship Suffers New Failure at Sea

The Gerald R. Ford, the U.S. Navy’s costliest warship, suffered a new failure at sea that forced it back to port and raised fresh questions about the new class of aircraft carriers.

The previously undisclosed problem with a propulsion system bearing, which occurred in January but has yet to be remedied, comes as the Navy is poised to request approval from a supportive Congress to expedite a contract for a fourth carrier in what was to have been a three-ship class. It’s part of a push to expand the Navy’s 284-ship fleet to 355 as soon as the mid-2030s.

It was the second failure in less than a year with a “main thrust bearing” that’s part of the $12.9 billion carrier’s propulsion system. [more]
