Event Update For 2018-04-08

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

But what if Beijing did not want to unleash a full-blown market nuke, and instead was hoping for a targeted, EMP hit?

Then it would simply stop buying US paper, instead of dumping it outright; in the process it wouldn't hurt the US too much - avoiding a furious tit-for-tat response - but would still send a clear signal to the White House, whose fiscal spending plan will more than double net Treasury issuance this year from under $500BN to over $1 trillion, and which needs every possible marginal buyer of US paper, both domestic and foreign. Yet here is the US president declaring a total non-fact to be something "we all witnessed." Little wonder that the Russians have concluded that the West is ruled by a gang of thugs supported by an infinitely lying and hypocritical media while the general public in the West has been hopelessly zombified.

It is a war that the US will not win. [more; read it]

China has weapons aplenty to prevail in US trade war - Global Times

[I don't know why this reminds me of a story in my own life - my then 9th grade son, who had been wrestling since he was 5, got bullied outside the school library by a senior from the swim team, who subsequently went to the hospital on a stretcher and my son was suspended for a week. It's like the U.S. is the bully, strutting around barking orders, threatening contries and "stealing their lunch money." After a while they grow up and won't take it anymore, or worse, seek revenge.]

An invisible form of oppression: Our food system

We do know that 1.3% of all deaths are caused by gun violence. And it is real and tragic and needs to end.

But we may not know that 70% of deaths are caused by chronic disease - mostly the result of our toxic food system.

More African Americans are killed by bad food than anything else.

Our food system is the deadliest weapon used against the poor and minorities- keeping them poor, sick and fat, hijacking their brains and biology.

We also know that our food system is the #1 cause of climate change. [more; SOTT disagrees with this statement (based on agriculture), going for "cosmic rays" instead]

    Zuckerborg Shrugged

The "great men" of our time are unfortunately, con artists. Most of what passes for "progress" today, is just corporate self-destruction...

Way back in 2012 when Faceplant went public, many of us believed that it was a passing fad. It was one of the biggest IPO disasters in history losing -50% of market cap in the first few months. But then a funny thing happened - they figured out how to "monetize" their user base, so the stock subsequently went on a multi-year mega rally. Facebook users can now discover their identities propagated across the internet an unlimited times over. No surprise, regulators finally want to cap their ability to data mine personal information for fun and profit. Unfortunately, that is their business model.

Facebook is yet another example in which hairless monkeys have reinvented the wheel by taking a well-functioning industry - print media and publishing - and replacing it with a low quality substitute. In the name of "progress". Similar to replacing sugar with corn syrup. Everyone gets fat, happy, and dumb as fuck inside their own custom echo chamber. [more]

    Hey, Steve is back again!

When you look into the night’s sky, you’d expect to see stars, the moon, an occasional meteor and, if you’re lucky, rippling curtains of light created by the impact of the sun’s energetic particles raining through our atmosphere. If you’re really lucky, you also might see Steve. [more; see pic, video]

Weird-looking lenticular clouds float over Anza-Borrego-Desert State Park in Colorado

They are some seriously weird looking clouds. Sometimes likened to UFOs, lenticular clouds are usually created by gravity waves. And when the last sunset rays shine right on them, they really look like something out of this world like in these pictures captured over Anza-Borrego-Desert State Park in Colorado on April 8, 2018.
