Note: This is the 50th aircraft to smoke/burn/explode in 2016. That's probably a huge undercount though. A lot of small planes have crashed and burned and then they find the burning plane and some corpses. Some of those planes were probably on fire BEFORE they crashed, and that's why they crashed in the first place, but when you show up and all that's there is the smoldering wreckage of a plane on the ground, it's impossible to tell whether it was on fire before impact, especially when there are no survivors to discuss what happened...
