2016-05-23 - Six climbers die in less than a week on Mount Everest, 30 more people sickened, 2 missing:

Quote: "More than 250 people have died climbing the mountain since 1953 and many of those were due to altitude-related illnesses."

Note: So around 4 people per YEAR die on Mount Everest on average, and here we have six dead in just a few days. That's clearly not normal. I can think of several possibilities. First, though hydrogen sulfide is a heavier-than-air gas, it's not THAT much heavier than air, and it does blow up over mountains and sometimes it gets blown all the way into the stratosphere. It's also water-soluble, so it can get into snow, then if the snow blows into your eyes, or you heat some snow up for coffee, or you get some on your hands and then rub your eyes or contaminate food that you eat, then you can get poisoned.

Secondly, a lot of methane is entering the atmosphere. Methane is a lighter-than-air gas, so it's accumulating in the upper atmosphere. That may push the oxygen layer down lower in altitude and cause more serious 'altitude sickness' than normal. If that's happening, and I highly suspect that it is, then the first place you'd expect to see the effects is, for the obvious reason, Mount Everest.

Finally, the methane layer expanding and thickening in the upper atmosphere means that even passenger planes flying at high altitudes are becoming more susceptible to fires and explosions, like the passenger plane that just caught fire and crashed into the Mediterranean Sea the other day, last mentioned in the 2016-05-20 update...
