Event Update For 2017-02-05

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

  1. G'day Jonny! Australia in the middle of their summer and they're experiencing a lot of heat, rain and JJFH incidents.

Rare polar phenomenon, Sudden Stratospheric Warming, could trigger big freeze across UK

The UK faces a three-week freeze with temperatures plunging as cold as -15C because of a rare North Pole phenomenon that triggered the 2010 big freeze and nationwide white-out. The worst cold spell of winter, with widespread snow, ice and travel chaos, threatens from February 11.

The North Pole's high-altitude air has suddenly [what? the Arctic has been warmer all winter!] warmed up and is set to shunt cold low-level Arctic air south to Scotland. However, the whole of the UK is set for a bitter spell of freezing temperatures.

The event, known as a Sudden Stratospheric Warming (SSW) usually chills Scotland for two weeks or longer and sees widespread snow. It has not occurred for four years, official records show. [more; see article below]

Fierce North Atlantic storm to send temperatures soaring at North Pole (again)

An extraordinarily powerful storm system is spinning across the North Atlantic Ocean, just southeast of Greenland. Together with long-term climate change and other transitory weather systems, it is setting the stage for a dramatic and unusual warmup at the North Pole this week.

For the third time this winter, such a storm is likely to vault unusually warm air toward the pole, potentially bringing temperatures across the sunless Arctic to near the melting point for a brief period late this week. [more]

  2. Factcheck on Daily Mail’s “astonishing evidence” about global warming – “Hilarious screw up by @DavidRoseUK and #FailOnSunday”

In an article in today’s Mail on Sunday, David Rose makes the extraordinary claim that “world leaders were duped into investing billions over manipulated global warming data”, accusing the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of manipulating the data to show more warming in a 2015 study by Tom Karl and coauthors.
What he fails to mention is that the new NOAA results have been validated by independent data from satellites, buoys and Argo floats and that many other independent groups, including Berkeley Earth and the UK’s Met Office Hadley Centre, get effectively the same results. [more]
