Quote: "Police say what was unusual is they saw no signs of trauma, no forced entry, no pill bottles, or anything that would indicate a cause of death."

Note: Here's a Google Maps link of the area. From the full hypothesis: "Humans will sicken and die, especially in, near, or downwind of low-lying areas such as bodies of water. People found dead will often show no sign of injury, and this will include young and healthy people."

I don't know if they checked for hydrogen sulfide. They probably didn't though, because in normal times there'd be no reason to do so. But there are several scenarios that could have resulted in these deaths via hydrogen sulfide. First, their water may have been contaminated - hydrogen sulfide is water-soluble. Maybe they cooked dinner with contaminated water and put some water down for the cats at the same time. But wouldn't other people in the building have gotten hit too? Not necessarily - it might come in via the same water source, but with just one short-lived burst of contaminated water, and they were the 'lucky ones' who got it. Secondly, they could've gotten gassed via hydrogen sulfide infiltrating their apartment through an HVAC system or window. It would then have killed them, settled to the ground and gotten reacted away fairly quickly by ground-level ozone, leaving no trace in the air. Thirdly, they could have gotten some on their clothes while outdoors, come home, hugged their cats, and then they all died shortly later, possibly via hydrogen sulfide's delayed-reaction killing ability. In none of these three scenarios would there have been anything in the air when people showed up. Of these three scenarios, the most likely is probably contaminated water. And since they'd been dead a while, and since hydrogen sulfide disappears inside the human body quickly, within hours, they won't find that in any autopsies either. It's insidious and sneaky in that respect, and 'the authorities' are working hard to hide what's happening too even if it weren't so insidious and sneaky. Rotten egg odors and hydrogen sulfide have hit numerous towns up and down the California coast in recent months, and Berkeley is right on the coast. Watch for more couples dropping dead in their homes, especially in coastal communities...
