Event Update For 2014-05-27

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Category: Fires And Explosions

2014-05-27 - Two underground electrical explosions hit coastal Greenwich (Connecticut):

Quote: "Just before 5 p.m. an explosion with smoke coming from an electrical vault on Greenwich Avenue at Fawcett Place was reported. As Greenwich Fire Department crews were investigating that incident, a second manhole explosion was reported five minutes later on East Putnam Avenue at Sherwood Place, across from the Whole Foods market."

2014-05-27 - At least two underground electrical fires break out in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania):

Quote: "PECO officials said two underground transformers apparently blew at around 3 p.m. Tuesday. About 4,000 PECO customers in the area lost power."

2014-05-27 - Underground electrical fire erupts on 57th Street in coastal Manhattan (New York):

2014-05-27 - Underground electrical fire evacuates school in coastal Brooklyn (New York):

Note: Must be all the salt from the salt trucks due to all the recent snow *cough cough*...

2014-05-27 - Underground electrical fire breaks out on street in Norwich (Britain), near the River Wensum:

2014-05-27 - Underground electrical fire hits Coalville (Britain), 457 homes go dark:

Quote: "Firefighters were called to the junction of Melbourne Street and Bridge Street in Coalville after smoke was seen seeping from a manhole cover at about 3.15pm today. The road was closed while crews from Coalville station used dry powder to tackle the flames."

2014-05-27 - Transformer explodes and burns at hospital in coastal Baltimore (Maryland):,0,6459291.story

Note: Electricity, who needs it?! Hydrogen sulfide is a heavier-than-air gas which will seek out low-lying areas like underground electrical vaults. It's also reactive with rusty iron/steel and copper, especially electrified copper, both likely to be found in underground electrical vaults. That's a problem. Not as bad as going crazy from neurological damage and/or collapsing dead from poison gas, no, but still, a pretty big problem...

2014-05-27 - Home destroyed by explosion and fire in Grand Rapids (Michigan), nobody there:

Quote: "He said a department crew responded to a natural gas complaint in that area about 9:30 p.m. Monday, but did not find any problem."

Note: People smelled 'rotten egg' odor, which is what mercaptan smells like, which is added to otherwise odorless natural gas so that it has any smell at all. Hydrogen sulfide at low concentrations also smells like 'rotten eggs', so people are confusing the two, which may be why workers found no natural gas problems...

2014-05-27 - Biofuel plant destroyed by massive blaze and explosions near Anthony (New Mexico), 350 homes evacuated:

Note: Not sure why that lcsun URL says car fire. I guess there was a car fire on NM 460 near Anthony too? (Wouldn't be too shocking!) But the story is about the biofuel plant, despite the car fire URL...

2014-05-27 - Auto scrapyard erupts in flame in Lincoln Heights area of coastal Los Angeles (California):

2014-05-27 - Brass plant damaged by explosion and fire near Alton (Illinois), 2 injured:

2014-05-27 - Landfill ignites, fire gets huge, spreads to home, near Laredo (Texas):

Quote: "What fire fighters are calling a massive fire, was reportedly sparked at a city landfill. It spread and caused thousands of used tires to burn up and well as igniting the flames even more. The fire also spread to a nearby house. People living there in the house say that fortunately it was only their kitchen that was damaged."

2014-05-27 - Recycling center heavily damaged by blaze in Southfield suburb of Detroit (Michigan):

2014-05-27 - Hospital building damaged by deadly blaze in Jangseong County (South Korea), at least 21 killed:

Quote: "The victims died after suffocating on poisonous gas, officials said."

2014-05-27 - Explosion hits car dealership in Hialeah (Florida), near the coast, 1 injured:

Quote: "At 4 o’clock this afternoon, one of our vendors, an electrical contractor, entered the Hialeah dealership’s electrical connections chamber. A sudden and unexplained explosion occurred causing injury to the electrician."

Note: So he opened a door to this electrical connections chamber. That would allow any methane and/or hydrogen sulfide to enter the room too. Any electrified copper in there? Of course. Hydrogen sulfide is reactive with copper, especially electrified copper, and will serve as the igniter for any methane blowing around. Pretty similar to all the underground electrical fires and explosions, transformer explosions, etc.

2014-05-27 - Man's clothes ignite as he works on car at auto business in Indianapolis (Indiana), 2 injured:

2014-05-27 - Smoke in the cockpit sends small jet to emergency landing in Sacramento (California):

2014-05-27 - Tractor trailer bursts into flame on Hull Road near York (Britain):

2014-05-27 - Tractor trailer blows tire and bursts into flame in Paris (Tennessee):

Note: It was probably the tire or brakes igniting which caused the tire to blow in the first place...

2014-05-27 - Tractor trailer bursts into flame on I-295 in Carneys Point Township (New Jersey), 1 injured:

Note: Carneys Point Township is located on the eastern (downwind) banks of the Delaware River...

2014-05-27 - Tractor trailer bursts into flame at intersection in Steamboat Springs (Colorado):

Quote: "Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to a report of a vehicle fire at Anglers Drive and South Lincoln Avenue. Brakes on a semi had caught fire."

2014-05-27 - Tractor explodes and burns while parked in barn, fire spreads, four barns destroyed, near Dobson (North Carolina):

Quote: "Some type of explosion is said to have occurred with the tractor that had been parked in one of the bulk barns at the site, which sparked a fire that spread to the three other structures. 'They were right next to each other,' Rodney Whitaker, assistant chief of the Central Surry Volunteer Fire Department, explained regarding the barns."

Note: Parked tractors exploding and burning is totally normal, move along! This has happened before. A tractor exploded and burned at 4:30 AM while parked in a barn and the fire destroyed the barn, on Avon Lake Road in Litchfield Township (Pennsylvania), mentioned in the 2013-09-05 update. Other parked vehicles have exploded and burned too, including boats. It's not a tractor-specific problem...

2014-05-27 - Tractor bursts into flame on Picton Lane in Chester (Britain):

2014-05-27 - Truck bursts into flame on the A14 near Stanground (Britain):

2014-05-27 - RV bursts into flame at 4:30 AM while parked at home in Eugene (Oregon), nobody there:

Quote: "Two adults and their son were displaced when a fire damaged their motorhome early this morning as it was parked near the intersection of Marshall Avenue and Taft Street in west Eugene, fire officials said. The three family members had spent the night elsewhere with another family member and were not in the motorhome when the fire occurred around 4:30 a.m., Eugene Springfield Fire Battalion Chief Ben Meigs said."

Note: An RV bursting into flame while parked in Eugene...sound familiar? The same thing just happened two days prior, mentioned in the 2014-05-25 update. That fire happened at around 5:15 PM and a dog in the house where it was parked woke the people up inside, they tried to fight the fire, and one of them was lightly injured. These two RVs spontaneously igniting in Eugene were definitely different events. Besides the two RVs, another fire destroyed two cars and a garage at 5:30 AM at a home in Eugene on the day between the RV fires, mentioned in the 2014-05-26 update, so that's three fires involving parked vehicles in three days in Eugene...

2014-05-27 - RV bursts into flame, ignites brush fire, near Saguaro Lake (Arizona):

2014-05-27 - Van bursts into flame on street on coastal Bainbridge Island (Washington):

Quote: "The 2010 Toyota Highlander was going eastbound on Grand Central when it ran over a piece of metal in the roadway, according to police."

Note: Blamed on running over a piece of metal. Who knows, could be. But man, they had that story out FAST. And looking at that fire, how could they even tell that's what happened? Did anyone actually see a piece of metal? Didn't see any witnesses or either of the two survivors say that's what happened, that's just the story 'according to police' who weren't there when it happened. Gas tanks aren't located right at the bottom of vehicles either. If a story sounds shitty and it smells just might be shit. Haven't decided if this story is shit or not, but I definitely haven't ruled out the possibility that it is. You can decide for yourself, of course...

Note: If they didn't want their house to burn then they shouldn't have parked their car near it. Hey, I don't make the rules, reality does! I'm trying to let people know that the rules have changed and what was once safe now isn't. If people don't wake up then they're gonna continue to pay the price...

  1. That one story just says it all. Here's a veteran firefighter who never heard of a porch bursting into flame so blamed it on LEAVES! As if leaves can just spontaneously combust . . . (hey, at least add a metal rake to it).

Electrical infrastructure continues to degrade beyond our ability to keep up.

Look at all the vehicles being destroyed (including boats), all the people keeling over (of all ages and some in perfect health), and the buildings exploding into flame - it all adds up to our precarious existence. More zombies walkin' around, more sinkholes - whew, things are getting out of hand!

    Thanks for the update Jonny.

    1. Maybe we could fill the sinkholes with the zombies. Bam, who said I wasn't a problem-solver?!

  2. Actually Jonny has had several stories about mulch being the culprit for fires at a few apartments IIRC so leaves wouldn't be too much of a stretch as they'd be just absorbent material like everything else on or around porches igniting itself and the porch and maybe rest of the house too. I always feel relief when it is raining but between this "water soluble gas" and Fukushima involved in the precipitation cycle I no longer feel like singing or dancing in the rain or even walking out there with my dogs. Speaking of which... Whilst reading this update my AC kicked on and I get a whiff of "ROTTEN EGG SMELL"... *alarmed* but it turned out to be just one of the dogs a dozing and a farting under the desk. Saved for one more day at least. WHEW!!! Thanks for all your hard work compiling this info but this is hard info to share with anyone unless you really really do not like them. :) So morbidity packed!

    1. That was what I was thinking with the leaves too - basically the same as mulch, just not as compressed. And UNDER a porch means a mostly enclosed area, which will help trap gases. A little rusty iron/steel under there, next to some leaves that have absorbed some hydrogen sulfide or methane and you have a fire.

Don't blame you for not sharing the info with many, or any. It is hard to accept and I can't possibly argue with the 'morbidity packed' description either!

LMAO @ your dog fart alert!
