Event Update For 2014-01-23

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Category: Fires And Explosions
2014-01-23 - Underground electrical explosion and fire hits Carroll Gardens area of coastal Brooklyn (New York):
Quote: "'It sounded like a bomb. It was really scary,' said Jay Ortega, 38, the marketing manager at Body Elite Gym, which completely lost power shortly after the fiery blast. 'People were scattering and running away,' said Ortega, who dialed 911 and said he heard two smaller explosions before the final, much louder one...'"
Note: So far at least, New York City is getting hit harder by underground electrical explosions and fires than any other city...
2014-01-23 - Transformer bursts into flame in Highland Park (Illinois), near Lake Michigan, 5000 homes go dark:
Note: Highland Park is right on the shore of Lake Michigan...
2014-01-23 - Transformer bursts into flame in Columbia (Missouri), 150 homes go dark in Boone County:
2014-01-23 - Transformer bursts into flame at mill, toxic smoke blows over Mänttä (Finland), half the town goes dark:
2014-01-23 - Transformer explodes and burns just after midnight on street in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), 100 homes go dark:
Quote: "Officials say a transformer exploded on a utility pole and caught fire, knocking out power to 100 residential customers."

2014-01-23 - Home explodes in Glen Burnie (Maryland), near the coast, nobody there:

Note: They're assuming the gas leak caused the explosion rather than the reverse. Maybe so, maybe not, and there's probably no way to tell after the fact. Homes have exploded that didn't have any gas connected though, so it's entirely possible that 'whatever' caused those explosions also caused this one...

2014-01-23 - Gas well explodes and burns near homes in Boston Heights (Ohio):

Quote: "Heisa also said that there were crews working in the area of the fire just before the explosion. Heisa says the construction workers told witnesses that 'they heard something weird so they ran for their lives.'"

2014-01-23 - Recycling plant erupts in flame (again), in St Paul's Cray area of coastal London (Britain):

Quote: "This week, News Shopper called for action over the plant, which has seen ten fires in the past year, and has run up costs to the fire brigade of £560,000."

2014-01-23 - Large machine bursts into flame, fire gets huge, devastates industrial building in Mentor (Ohio):

Note: The machine that burst into flame was in the area used by a metal coating company, and nobody was there at the time, so this sounds like the industrial version of all the parked vehicles that are bursting into flame. An auto parts company nearby was also damaged. Any machine that uses electrified copper and/or which is made of steel (which rusts), and which contains anything flammable (like plastic wire insulation or flammable fuel) is now a fire risk, and the machine need not be running for fire to erupt...

2014-01-23 - In separate incidents, transit bus and tractor trailer burst into flame on roads in coastal Singapore:

Quote: "A semitrailer carrying about $1 million in audio and visual equipment caught fire while stopped at a gas station in Dwight early Thursday morning. The Dwight Fire Protection District was called to Loves Truck Stop on Route 47 about 5:45 a.m., Deputy Fire Chief Justin Dyer said. The cause of the fire is under investigation, he said, but it appears there was a malfunction of the brakes."

Note: From the full hypothesis: "Massive vehicles such as big RVs, buses, tanker trucks, tractor trailers, dump trucks, and car-haulers will be destroyed by fire in escalating numbers after tires or brakes ignite."

2014-01-23 - Car bursts into flame at 6 AM while parked on Blackwall Way in coastal London (Britain):

Note: Hah, same exact situation as the van above - a parked vehicle spontaneously igniting. But they think the van is arson, but not this one. Why? It's probably because this car went up in flames on a busy street (right next to the River Thames too) at a time of day where there were lots of people who saw it spontaneously ignite, but there was no one around the van when it spontaneously ignited. So, if witnesses are present, not arson. If no witnesses are present, then assume arson. Well, guess what, vehicles aren't ONLY spontaneously igniting when someone's around to see it happen. Vehicles are going up in flames whether anyone is around or not, and just because nobody is there to see it doesn't mean anybody was involved in starting the fire...
