Event Update For 2020-12-15

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

  1. Mornin' Jonny, all. Officially, we ended up with 5.7" of snow here.
If the sleet that fell for hours had been snow, the total would have been much higher (as it was for townships just north and west of us.
No power outage (but we did get flickering lights a few times).

Man, look at all those multiple vehicle fires (and homes scorched) at the top of today's report! Jeez! Yeah, pure coincidence that there would be a gas smell where someone dropped dead . ..

Another garbage truck fire, a BUNCH of building fires, and another list of people dying suddenly. These lists will probably become longer next year.

Winter Is Coming: 62% Of U.S. Small Business Owners “Fear The Worst Is Still To Come”
    http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/winter-is-coming-62-of-u-s-small-business-owners-fear-the-worst-is-still-to-come/

The official start of winter is just a few days away, and many small business owners are concerned that their businesses won’t be able to make it to the start of spring. This is particularly true for those small businesses that rely on face to face interaction with the general public. Restaurants, bars, gyms, coffee shops, hairdressers and independent retailers all over the nation were absolutely devastated by the first round of lockdowns, and now a new round of lockdowns is dealing death blows to countless businesses that had hoped to find a way to heal and get back on their feet in 2021. Politicians such as California Governor Gavin Newsom and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo don’t seem to care that they are literally destroying millions of hopes and dreams. If and when this pandemic finally ends, they will get to go on with their normal lives, but vast numbers of their constituents will not.

According to a brand new U.S. Chamber-MetLife poll of small businesses, just 40 percent of all U.S. small business owners “believe their small businesses can operate indefinitely” the way things are going right now, and a whopping 62 percent of them are convinced that “the worst is still to come”… [more]

Greta Thunberg: We are still in denial despite Paris climate deal – “We are still speeding in the wrong direction”
    https://desdemonadespair.net/2020/12/greta-thunberg-we-are-still-in-denial-despite-paris-climate-deal-we-are-still-speeding-in-the-wrong-direction.html

The Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has condemned the “empty words” of world leaders in a video message released ahead of the fifth anniversary of the Paris climate accord on Saturday.

Since world leaders pledged to limit global temperature rises to 2 degrees Celsius in 2015, “a lot has happened, but the action needed is still nowhere in sight,” the 17-year-old said in a video posted to social media.

Thunberg warned “we are still speeding in the wrong direction,” and she accused global decision-makers of wasting time “creating new loopholes with empty words and creative accounting.”

Although the accord signed in the French capital five years ago committed governments to capping global warming at 2 degrees — and if possible 1.5 degrees — compared to the pre-industrial era, the UN warned on Wednesday that the world is currently on course for a temperature rise of 3 degrees, despite the fall in emissions caused by the pandemic. The avuncular man in the TV ad has an urgent-sounding message from his employer, the oil giant Chevron Corp.

"I think renewable energy is vital to our planet," says the man, identified only as an environmental expert called Steve. "At Chevron we're investing millions in solar and biofuels technology to make it work." He adds that the energy can be made widely available and the work needs to begin “right now.”

What Steve doesn't mention, according to three U.S. lawsuits alleging deceptive advertising, is that Chevron is overwhelmingly focused on fossil fuel extraction and its investment in renewables remains miniscule compared to the billions it spends each year on drilling for oil and gas. [more]

There has been much speculation around the world claiming a link between 5G and the coronavirus, and a vaccine for the virus and "The Mark Of The Beast." While governments and the media have been quick to dispel such claims as not true, there is a connection, according to an NCBI report claiming doses of charged particles from 5G can cause acute and persistent oxidative stress which can lead to cell and tissue damage, damaging proteins, and DNA and suppressing immune systems, which is probably why Covid-19 has been so destructive in wealthy countries such as the US and all of Europe but not nearly as destructive in 3rd world, or poor countries. Towering pyrocumulonimbus clouds can spew as much aerosol as volcanic eruptions – The Australian 2019-2020 outbreak exceeded previously unprecedented events “on almost every level”

A particularly intense spate of fires in southeastern Australia during the country’s 2019–2020 “Black Summer” wildfire season led to a “super outbreak” of 32 separate pyrocumulonimbus, or pyroCB, events from 29 December 2019 to 31 December 2019 (SN: 3/4/20) . The resulting plume of smoke sent aloft was so massive that it rose up to 35 kilometers into the atmosphere, high into the stratosphere, well above the heights that jet planes fly (SN: 6/15/20). Combined with a second large plume on January 4, they injected three times more aerosol particles into the stratosphere than any previously recorded pyroCb event.

Such a long-lasting, intense event “was like nothing we’ve seen before,” eclipsing the previous record-holder, a vast fire cloud that formed over the Pacific Northwest in 2017, said David Peterson, a meteorologist at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in Monterey, Calif. The Australian outbreak “exceeded this previously unprecedented event on almost every level.” In terms of sheer number of aerosols sent into the stratosphere, the Australian plumes were on par with the strongest volcanic eruptions in the last 25 years. cases illustrate how weak rules and a lack of oversight can plague the offsets market, just as many corporations and policymakers try to increase their supply to help meet aggressive climate-change targets. The global airline industry, for instance, is poised to launch a program next month that will eventually spend billions of dollars on carbon offsets to help flatten net emissions from international air travel. Some credits from GreenTrees and the Conservancy will be eligible for this program.

climate policy experts say carbon offsets work only if they trigger a carbon reduction that wouldn’t have happened otherwise. In other words, the money from the corporations buying the offsets has to be the reason that trees are being planted or protected. [more]

according to the results of a new study, eating cheese and drinking red wine may actually give your brain a boost.

The study, which was published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease, analyzed data over a 10-year period from 1,787 people between the ages of 46 and 77 in the U.K. Biobank, a large-scale biomedical database and research resource. The researchers specifically looked at participants’ fluid intelligence test (FIT) — which provides a snapshot of a person’s ability to think quickly — when they started the study and again in two follow-up assessments. Researchers also analyzed their diet and alcohol consumption over time.

The researchers found that certain foods and drinks seemed to have protective effects against cognitive decline. Specifically:

Cheese was the most protective food against age-related cognitive decline, with researchers noting that eating the food “strongly predicted better FIT scores over time.”

Drinking alcohol daily, especially red wine

Eating lamb weekly (this was not true of other red meats)

The researchers found that people with a high salt diet who had other risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease had decreasing performance over time. “We observed that added salt may put at-risk individuals at greater risk,” they wrote. [more; too small a sample]
