Event Update For 2020-06-14

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Further investigations have also ruled out poisoning by humans and anthrax, which sometimes hits wildlife in this part of Botswana."

People are getting sick from coronavirus spreading through the air – and that's a big challenge for reopening
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/people-getting-sick-coronavirus-spreading-115751594.html

studies suggest that the virus would be rapidly inactivated outdoors [via sunlight], but the risk of transmission indoors would remain.

Laboratory studies can provide valuable insight, but real world scenarios point to the true risk from airborne transmission.

For direct evidence of the risks of airborne transmission, we can look to a few case studies in the U.S. and abroad.

A paper published just last week compared the success of mitigation measures – like social distancing or mask wearing – to try and determine how the virus is spreading. The authors concluded that aerosol transmission was the dominant route. This conclusion is hotly debated in the scientific community, but this study and others do show the effectiveness of masks in slowing the spread of COVID-19.

Since the primary risk is indoors, increasing ventilation rates and not recirculating air inside buildings would remove the virus from the indoor environment faster. [more]

Millions of abandoned oil wells are leaking methane, a climate menace
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/millions-abandoned-oil-wells-leaking-111441035.html

Orphaned wells have been blamed for a slew of public safety incidents over the years, including a methane blowout at the construction site of a waterfront hotel in California last year.

They also pose a serious threat to the climate that researchers and world governments are only starting to understand, according to a Reuters review of government data and interviews with scientists, regulators, and United Nations officials. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change last year recommended that U.N. member countries start tracking and publishing the amount of methane leaching from their abandoned oil and gas wells after scientists started flagging it as a global warming risk. So far, the United States and Canada are the only nations to do so. [more]

Scientists locate the first fast radio burst in the Milky Way
    https://www.engadget.com/first-fast-radio-burst-in-milky-way-002145743.html

[from a disc jockey on a planet 30 l.y. away - jis' kiddin']

Astronomers have detected the first known burst coming from within the Milky Way galaxy. It originated with the SGR 1935+2154 magnetar (a neutron star surrounded by intense magnetic fields) about 32,616 light-years away. That may sound distant, but it’s a lot closer than the next-closet magnetar, spotted about 490 million light-years away in another galaxy.

The burst was spotted in late April through a mix of satellite observations and on-the-ground radio telescope observations, including NASA’s orbiting Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory, the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment (CHIME) radio telescope in Canada and the US-based STARE2 telescope. As many as six billion Earth-like planets in our galaxy, according to new estimates

To be considered Earth-like, a planet must be rocky, roughly Earth-sized and orbiting Sun-like (G-type) stars. https://www.yahoo.com/news/half-earth-land-environment-165115533.html

Half of the ice-free land on Earth is still mostly untouched by human beings, a study has shown.

[yeah, places called DESERTS and bogs, mountains and huge tracts of rocky land - unfit for anything but what they are; you can't just move an ecosystem to where ever you want (and that's what it takes to grow food) - any time humanity gets involved the 'new' place soon turns to shit]

Researchers said this represents an opportunity to conserve half our planet’s land intact.

[oh right, by NOT DOING ANYTHING to it - like mining, "studying" it, polluting or using it for some human whim - (as Nipsy said) "r i g h t"]

Co-author Professor Erle Ellis, of the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, said: “Though human land uses are increasingly threatening Earth’s remaining natural habitats, especially in warmer and more hospitable areas, nearly half of Earth still remains in areas without large-scale intensive use.”

Among the largest low-impact areas are broad stretches of boreal forests and tundra across northern Asia and North America and vast deserts like the Sahara in Africa and the Australian Outback. [more; guess he didn't get the extinction and global warming memos]
