Event Update For 2019-09-28

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2019-09-28 - Why Vladimir Putin suddenly believes in global warming:
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/why-vladimir-putin-suddenly-believes-060006117.html

Quote: "President Vladimir Putin needs to go green quickly to stop the permafrost from melting, so that Russian oil and gas companies can keep pumping the hydrocarbons that are warming the planet and making the permafrost melt."

Note: To summarize, the melting permafrost destabilizes the ground and wrecks gas and oil infrastructure (among other things). Unfortunately, if we all magically went carbon-neutral all across this planet, there is a delay of decades before those effects would begin to kick in. We haven't even begun to feel all the warming we're GOING to feel from the greenhouses gases ALREADY in the atmosphere, not even including those we're contributing each and every year or those released by the Earth itself due to feedbacks already spiraling out of control. The time to address the problem, if it was ever possible at all, would have been when Putin was wearing diapers. It's far too late now. And this is certainly ironic. The melting Arctic will allow Putin to more easily ship Russian oil and gas around the world but at the same time the melting permafrost will destroy the infrastructure needed to get the oil and gas to the Arctic coast to ship. He didn't think things through very well!

Note: Sort of reminds me of an event that happened in May of 2013 in coastal Quincy (Massachusetts). First, an unknown rotten egg odor blew in off the ocean. Shortly after that, a plane started buzzing the city in the wee hours. People complained, wondered what that plane was doing, so the mayor called the FCC and asked what that plane was doing. They said they couldn't tell him. He asked if they could at least tell him that the plane wasn't doing anything HARMFUL, so he could inform his constituents of at least that much. And they said no, they couldn't tell him that either!

  1. Good morning Jonny and all your readers. Here we go again, trying to live through another week of doom.

Thousands of ships fitted with ‘cheat devices’ to divert poisonous pollution into sea
    https://www.fasterthanexpected.com/2019/09/29/thousands-of-ships-fitted-with-cheat-devices-to-divert-poisonous-pollution-into-sea/

Global shipping companies have spent millions rigging vessels with “cheat devices” that circumvent new environmental legislation by dumping pollution into the sea instead of the air, The Independent can reveal.

the sulphur emitted by the ships is simply re-routed from the exhaust and expelled into the water around the ships, which not only greatly increases the volume of pollutants being pumped into the sea, but also increases carbon dioxide emissions. Climate Change Is Really about Prosperity, Peace, Public Health and Posterity – Not Saving the Environment
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/climate-change-really-prosperity-peace-203000478.html

[no, this is a lie built on hopium - let me show you]

Traditional co-benefits framing tells the story like this: If humanity does something about climate change – if we reduce carbon emissions through massive investments in renewable energy and retrofitting of inefficient buildings, if we improve resilience through investing in green infrastructure, nature-based solutions and all the rest – we will not only solve the climate change problem, we’ll also reduce economic inequality, improve public health, reduce threats to national sovereignty and geo-political stability, and generally make people’s lives better. [more]

[a) there's no "solution" to the climate change PREDICAMENT; #2 all the "solutions" the author suggests are misleading and won't work because they all DEPEND on fossil fuels to construct, install and maintain; and iii. even if they "could" work, there are the (about 6 dozen) positive feedback loops that will continue interacting with each other to cause the rapid demise of habitat for too many species we depend on, and therefore for humanity too. So no one's life is going to get "better" because of these non-solutions and the author's cheerleading effort, sorry.]

When will the record-challenging heat ease across the South?
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/record-challenging-heat-ease-across-074310068.html

For many cities across the South, this September is on track to be one of the warmest, if not the warmest September on record. In what seems like a never-ending summer across the region, it has many people asking the question, "When will the heat come to an end?"

Unfortunately for those that felt the heat this past weekend, the stagnant ridge of high pressure responsible for the persistent heat will continue to sit in place for much of this week.

The train of storms expected this week will act to bring temperatures in the mid-South closer to seasonable levels by late week. Places like Nashville and Knoxville, Tennessee, and Louisville, Kentucky, can expect to have relief from the heat starting Friday and lasting through the weekend. [more]

  4. October to start with near-record heat in northeastern US before temperatures plunge
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/october-start-near-record-heat-140509800.html

As the calendar flips to October, it will feel more like the middle of summer in the northeastern United States.

The hot air that has been baking the Southern states for weeks will surge northeastward from Monday to Wednesday, bringing a resurgence of high temperatures in the 80s and 90s F.

The heat will first surge into the Ohio Valley on Monday, before overtaking the mid-Atlantic on Tuesday. Wednesday is likely to be the hottest day of the warm surge for some Interstate 95 cities.

Indianapolis; Cincinnati and Cleveland, Ohio; Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Charleston, West Virginia; New York City; Baltimore; and Washington, D.C., are just a few of the places where new record highs may be stamped in the history books during the first half of this week.
